He expressed admiration for the courage of the fighters who took part in maintaining order in Kiev, and said that the unit would retain its name, joining the bodies of the Interior Ministry of the Russian Federation.
We have spoken with your leaders in advance to increase the staffing of your unit, ”said the head of the Interior Ministry at a meeting with the Berkut fighters. - You yourself understand: the most mobile, trained team must fulfill their duties and be ready to increase them.
Earlier, in an interview with the Kommersant newspaper, the head of the Russian Interior Ministry also said that all the procedures adopted in the Russian Federation would go through to work for Russian law enforcement agencies. In addition, families of fighters will be supported when settling in a new place.
The new place of work will not be tied to a specific region, Kolokoltsev said, and all former employees of the former Ukrainian special forces themselves will choose the place of residence and employment, "based on the possibilities."
