Russia. Launch of the multipurpose frigate “Admiral Grigorovich”
The frigate of the far sea zone of the project 11356, designed to strengthen the Black Sea fleet. “How timely!” - the reader will exclaim, and he will be absolutely right. “Grigorovich” will be a great addition to the surface component of the Black Sea Fleet, which urgently needs to update the ship’s composition. The new frigate is ideally suited to the conditions of the future duty station: versatility, excellent balance of cost and combat capabilities, focus on patrol service in the Mediterranean and participation in low-intensity conflicts.

The main weapon of “Admiral Grigorovich” is the universal ship shooting complex (UCSC) on 8 cells. A modest number of launchers is compensated by the power of ammunition. Ammunition of the frigate includes missiles of the Caliber family (anti-ship missiles with detachable supersonic warheads, PLUR, SLCM with 2000 + km range) - in any proportion. Not a single foreign ship of similar displacement has such impressive offensive capabilities.
"Admiral Grigorovich" was the largest warship launched on the last four years. And, obviously, will be the first surface ship of the ocean zone, introduced into the Navy from the distant 1999 year.
A landmark event took place at the Yantar plant in Kaliningrad 14 in March 2014. It is expected that the frigate will be completed and transferred to the Russian Navy before the end of this year.

An element of the new concept of the naval forces, created with a focus on actions against the coast. "Dakota" is the best fit to its role: a means for secret intelligence near the enemy's coast, conducting sabotage and for deafening attacks with the help of Tomahawk cruise missiles.
The sub-series No.3 differs from the rest of Virginia with a new hydroacoustic complex based on the giant “horseshoe” antenna, the Large Apperture Bow (LAB), as well as a different arrangement of the launch shafts for Tomahawks — they are now grouped into two separate six-charge modules (the analogy with two six "Colts" on the submarine's coat of arms).
