Eurofighter Typhoon sales are lower than expected.

Export sales of Eurofighter Typhoon fighter aircraft did not live up to expectations, despite the opportunities provided by Lockheed Martin’s delays in F-35’s program, the head of Airbus concern Tom Enders told the press.

More than 390 Eurofighter Typhoon fighters were delivered to customers from six countries - Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria and Saudi Arabia. Nevertheless, Airbus suffered several significant defeats in the tenders of Greece, India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Turkey, Norway and the United Arab Emirates. In less than expected sales, Enders directly blamed the industry.

“Our longtime rival [Lockheed Martin] due to the slowdown of the F-35 program gave us a great chance. Therefore, I find our sales volume distressing, ”said Anders. He also added that this statement is “a stone in the garden not of the government, but of industry”.

“Usually we drop out of the fight because of our prices,” he explained. As a result, the consortium, perhaps earlier than expected, will have to consider such a measure as a reduction in production.

“We still hope for new export deals, but at the moment we will need to focus on existing orders, as well as, perhaps, some modernization,” said Enders.

I don’t think so, because the Eurofighter developers are independent of the United States. But really, American fighters can crush the positions of Eurofighter in Europe. Two countries participating in its production have already switched to the side of the American F-35.

      his flying iron ...

Compared to our PAK FA, you can still say so. But next to the Eurofighter "Penguin" looks very menacing. Typhoon in terms of avionics and stealth still cannot compete with the F-35.

I agree with that! By the way, Lockheed-Martin is trying to eliminate internal competitors, like Boeing with their F / A-18 Super Hornet.

Export F-35s won't be stealthy, Lockheed-Martin does not want US allies to study the radio-absorbing materials they use. And the avionics in the export "Penguin" will not be so fancy.

Who said that? Stes technology is a constant quality, as well as in export versions.

I read the expert opinion of foreign designers, they say it’s too complicated and its electronics are moody.

Believing in our military-industrial complex is certainly good, but underestimating the enemy’s weapons can very badly affect the defense of the Fatherland stop .1941 is an example of this!

The trouble with the Eurofighter Typhoon, depending on the numerous "authors" of this aircraft, it takes a lot of time to approve. Many solutions already implemented by competitors are just beginning to be tested. For example, a radar with AFAR Captor-E only now (in February) began to run in an idle state, and with a fully functioning one it is planned to fly only at the end of 2014. while Dassault Rafale has been since 2012. produced with a radar with AFAR Thales RBE2, and the Swedes in the same year purchased a radar with an AFAR ES-05 Raven for the Gripen E.
Not surprisingly, Typhoon, having no price advantages, loses to the Swedes and the French.

In terms of price, yes, but in the pan the qualities of the aircraft itself are not. The French Rafale still surpasses the Typhoon in a number of ways, but the Swedish Gripen does not reach it.

Something I think there is a connection between articles where Hindus stir up water about the Su30MKI and these Eurofighters. The French are still cunning, it is necessary to be more careful with this topic, to cover the smallest details of further schemes of the tender war ..

Hindus seem to have long thrown Eurofighter belay , at the beginning of 2012, when Rafal won the tender. And with the Su-30MKI everything is fine, there are already 200 of them in service with India.
