We will no longer be the same by accepting the fascist challenge
Now that the situation in Ukraine is changing hourly, no one can predict how it will end. But regardless of the further development of events, one can already see what consequences the Ukrainian crisis has had on Russian society - and these consequences will be far more lasting than the inspiration or panic that people experience when they look at news belt.Democracy takes off the mask
If for someone talking about the technology of the orange revolutions and their consequences for a “revolutionized” country was an abstraction, then now everyone clearly saw how it all happens. And not only in Egypt, Syria or elsewhere. And they can now contemplate in colors how the wonderful slogan “Anything is better than ...” is actually implemented - than Putin, than Yanukovych, than crooks and thieves, than “scoop”, here everyone can optionally add, “than what ". Here it is, "whatever." We also saw what characters take to the stage, when the “peaceful democratic Protestants” are already working out their two main functions - creating a crowd scene and becoming “sacred victims”. However, the state also has something to think about - it is always easier to take people to the streets when there are reasons for real outrage.
In the world, too, not everyone is fascinated by the growing number of hotbeds of chaos of “democratic revolutions” and the unprecedented cynicism with which they are supported by the United States. So, “exported democracy” has long discredited itself without Ukraine, but a new example and its potential consequences for the whole world will only increase the number of opponents of militant democratizers.
The idea that “Maidan is a rehearsal for Russia”, so inspiring our liberals at the beginning of this very Maidan, today has already discredited itself (and them) like nothing else. No one can now deny the role of ultra-radical neo-Nazis in the Ukrainian protests. And anyone who in Russia expresses support for IT automatically associates himself with the most disgusting and hateful thing that only exists in our public consciousness. All these wishes to give nuclear charges to the freedom-loving new-Ukrainians to threaten Russia, greet lustrations, wishes to “zaputintsam”, so that they, like Berkut, had to save their wives and children from punishment - that is, a hint of future plans for celebrating democratic victories - all this adds more and more new touches to the already marginal portrait of our liberal oppositionists. The apotheosis can be considered the enchanting performance of the permanent oppositionist Valeria Ilyinichna Novodvorskaya, who explained to the Ukrainians that they can only protect the revolution with their blood, which she urges them to boldly shed. And also - send to Russia more zinc coffins with Russian soldiers.
In fact, with all these revelations, the liberal marginals finally put only one thing in the coffin - their influence on the Russians. Russian creators and thinkers, expressing solidarity with the Maidan after all the demarches of Mr. Yarosh, after all these arsons, harassment, patrols with bats - in fact, they themselves have put a stigma on themselves. No "Putin propaganda" no longer need to do anything in their address. They have already done everything.
The new role of Putin
V.Putin's rating is undoubtedly at the maximum. In case of successful completion of the situation, that is, the return of Russia's control of at least the Crimea, and as the maximum of the entire Southeast of Ukraine or all of Ukraine, and if you still manage to avoid a serious military conflict, this will be almost the key event of the present stories. The credibility of Russians in Putin’s situation in such a situation will make it possible to overcome the consequences of even the most severe economic sanctions, if the West is really against them.
By the way, it is important to understand the nature of this current support for Putin. The point is not that the Russians are such imperialists and are ready to lose their standard of living for the sake of control over the neighboring territory. Not in love with Putin - on the contrary, even patriots have a lot of complaints about him. And not in the historical mission of “gathering Eurasian lands” for the new Union - Eurasian integration was announced, it is going on its own, and, nevertheless, in the eyes of the Russians, it does not have the image of a fateful breakthrough. If Ukraine were peacefully marching towards its European integration, attempts to convince her at all would not have made anyone a hero. The Russians would say - well, if they rush to Europe like that, let them go for themselves. Even if a state suddenly declared war directly to us and we won it, even then the image of the country's leader would not be better in the eyes of the people than it is now. It worked another. The image of a Russian defender from Nazi gangsters, who are also supported by the West - this is an explosive combination. And, by the way, no one even could not imagine that it is in principle possible in our day.
Such a role that Putin has now de facto assumed (although forcedly, as an inevitable answer to something that cannot be answered), probably, should also frighten him — so unprecedented expectations of millions of people are now connected with this. Even if there are no quick successes ahead, but a protracted and tough positional geopolitical conflict - what Putin has already done today is enough for the growth of such expectations.
But on this wave inside Russia, the demands on the authorities will also grow - precisely from those who support it today. Because from the authorities capable of such nationally-oriented foreign policy steps, they will expect similar behavior in domestic policy. It is the discrepancy to these expectations and the absence of a nationally-oriented domestic policy, and not at all isolation from the West, can create a very dangerous situation for the authorities inside the country.
Avoid the perfect trap
As is known, there are two historical anchors that are meaningful for our society. This is a victory and this is Gagarin. The fact that archetypically binds to these anchors has a powerful direct effect on the public consciousness. The neo-Nazi Bandera-neo-Nazis suddenly brought to the scene, even if they were caricatical compared to the original, but still have a direct symbolic and historical connection with them, that it’s not just that, in view of such archetypes. about the protection of Russian, but about the fight against absolute evil. And besides, against the background of everyone else in the world, this evil is either supporting, or covering its eyes. This is the reason for such popular support for Russia's actions.
Some part of the West and its leaders themselves are at a loss from the Ukrainian brown revolution, but another thing is also obvious. There is no better way to cause an absolutely sincere rage and hatred of the Russians than to reincarnate the main evil for them. So there is no better way to provoke them. Those who cultivated neo-Nazis in Ukraine for years knew this very well and knew that the “X” hour would come to play this card in order to push the two fraternal peoples in a real war. Contrary to the chorus of liberals crying about the Putin aggressor, who is bloodthirsty to unleash a war, everything is completely the opposite. Those who are really behind the Ukrainian revolution, more precisely, the “Plan B”, which was decided to be put into action when the plan of a peaceful “oranzhada” was not completed, initially set the creation of a chaos and war zone with the participation of Russia in Ukraine.
To defend their interests and at the same time to thwart this plan is the main task of Russia today. At the same time, its implementation very seriously depends on the presence of healthy forces in Europe, who understand that they are drawing into the chaos of war and crisis with us.
Wound on a mustache
Our law enforcement officers also made conclusions for themselves. Previously, standing in the cordon of some of the regular protest rally and looking at the boys, girls and grandmothers calling for not to stifle freedom, the Russian policeman or riot policeman did not feel any special emotions - well, they stand and stand, if only not to brawl. Now, even if a girl with the eyes of a Bambi fawl pulls on a bouquet of flowers, he will see burning Berkutovtsy and a mutilated dying soldier, whom the scum didn’t specifically call doctors, at that moment. Also, everyone understood how democratic winners are going to treat the vanquished - lustration lists with five-year-old children, public bullying and just physical elimination. Now, for sure, not a single Russian policeman will doubt for a second whether to follow his order regarding “peaceful demonstrators”. This is how the permanent oppositionist Eduard Limonov wrote about this - despite the fact that he constantly communicates with this most detaining OMON: “I’m thinking how our local police officers look at what is happening in Kiev, at beatings and killing of police officers in Kiev. I think they look and shake a mustache. "
The story continues
From the philosophical point of view, we see that the problems of humanity are the same as always. The fact that now questions about good and evil are solved in the entourage of iPhones and Internet does not change anything. Only technology changes. The shock of the West from Russia's behavior in the Ukrainian crisis is also related to the fact that Russia allows itself to directly raise questions about what is in its understanding good and bad. This is unacceptable in the paradigm of infinite political correctness. But the latter evaporates before our eyes, as the “end of history” turns into a new round of its wheel with new shocks.
We all got the opportunity to see in reality how it was then. In these two wars - civil and domestic, in the TU revolution. What TE Bandera looked like - it looked like that. These, too, would gladly have burned and hung, just now on this scale can not. It is impossible to spoil the face of a young democracy so much. How the civil war began - it is also now possible, as in a time machine, to observe. And to get rid of the illusion that then people were some other, but today they are not at all like that, and in our humane world such horrors are no longer possible. Even as possible, the world has not turned into a safe place, where everyone lives together, work, go on vacation and go to the movies. And remember it all must be. And be prepared for anything.
Russia is back in the game
And finally, now in the eyes of the Russians, and the whole world, the very image of Russia has changed. What is happening now is events that are much larger than 08.08.08. For the first time in the entire post-Soviet period, Russia and its president openly opposed the world hegemony that the transatlantists impose on everyone. Not another veto in the Security Council, which still did not stop anyone from humanitarian bombardment, not abstract statements of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressing deep concern - but open rejection of the next staged “color revolution” and glaring double standards, when overt fascists turn out to be democratic fighters for European values. Ukraine has become a catalyst for a much more important event - Russia's frank statement to the whole world that it does not consider itself to be someone’s periphery, does not consider itself lost in the Cold War, and since this war continues, it is ready to fight.
The West is shocked by Russia's response to its “Operation Ukraine”. Here, of course, it should be noted that the West is not monolithic and for someone this shock is not from Russian “arrogance”, but now from the possible loss of the prospects for mutually beneficial partnership. Europe has a serious confrontation with Russia completely unprofitable, but the question is how today's Europe is able to defend its own, and not transatlantist interests. Paradoxically, now the main ally of Russia in the desire to prevent a new European catastrophe is Germany, which in recent days has taken the position of mediator and negotiator between Russia and the West and has spoken against Russia’s exclusion from G8.
In any case, no one expected to see such Russia. But Russia, perhaps, did not expect to see such hope for it from its compatriots. And not only compatriots. The world is not only the West. Everyone today is watching Russia closely and drawing conclusions.
What now awaits everyone ahead - today no one will predict. There are no guarantees that our geopolitical “retaliatory strike” will be crowned with success and, as many already dream of, the creation of a new geopolitical entity comparable to the USSR. But the very fact of this answer fundamentally changes our image in the world.
And nothing will be as before, neither for us, nor for Putin, nor for the West.
