Obama ordered to kill Gaddafi

The calculation of the opponents of Muammar Gaddafi that his regime is about to fall under the blows of the opposition being podzuzhivaya, the West, it seems, suffered a complete failure. Most of the triumphant reports from the camp of opponents of the Libyan leader turned out to be commonplace lies, and now the Americans have to think about how to solve the “Gaddafi problem”. The decision seems to have been taken in a completely classical spirit: “there is no person — no problem”.
According to the American (importantly) media, Barack Obama gave the order to “get rid” of the Libyan leader. This announcement was made by Fox O'Reilly, the highest-ranking program leader on Fox News. In fairness, we note that Fox News traditionally supports the Republican Party of the United States, which, undoubtedly, is now in anticipation of how Obama will disgrace in Libya. We should not forget that the presidential elections in America are just around the corner, and the possible failure of the Arab “epic” democrats now in power will demonstrate to US citizens that Obama, crowned with a peace prize, is in fact no better than his predecessor Bush Junior. All this, of course, should be taken into account, but, nevertheless, there is no reason not to trust the information voiced by Bill O'Reilly.
Recall that earlier it was on the air of his program that sensational information was heard that in fact, despite all the assurances of official Washington, the US military, as well as CIA agents, had long been in Libya. Only until recently, their mission was to aim aviationbombing positions of government troops; now, when it became clear that without a ground operation involving Western troops Gaddafi could not be overthrown, they would have to resort to other methods of resolving this issue.
Why the order to liquidate Gaddafi is given right now, I see. In recent days, opponents of the Libyan leader suffered a series of sensitive defeats. In particular, on Wednesday, government forces regained control of the city of Ras Lanuf, located 600 km east of Tripoli. Ras Lanuf is of extreme strategic importance, since there are one of the country's largest refineries and oil terminal. Yesterday, the Libyan rebels were also forced to leave the city of Sirte in the central part of the country. Previously, they had to leave the occupied cities of Ben Jawad and Marsa el Brega. As Western news agencies report, the militiamen who were forced to flee Ben-Jawad in despair began to shout: “Where are you, Sarkozy?”, Appealing to the French president as one of the initiators of the military operation against Gaddafi.
In such a situation, it became clear that it was pointless to continue the operation according to a previously developed plan — a coalition bombing troops loyal to Gaddafi, and the opposition militia is developing a ground attack. Under these conditions, the West began to seriously consider the issue of the beginning of direct deliveries to the opponents of the Libyan leader weapons. To do this, however, there is a small obstacle in the form of a UN Security Council resolution, which directly imposes an embargo on any arms supplies to Libya. However, what is the resolution of some kind of UN for the Americans? So, a piece of paper ... However, not all US allies expressed their readiness to give a damn about the decision of the once respected international body. Even Great Britain, America’s most faithful ally, expressed doubts about the expediency of such a move.
There is one more piquant detail: the other day, the NATO leadership, through the mouth of the Allied European Commander in Europe, Admiral James Stavridis, officially acknowledged the fact that Al Qaeda members and the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah were in the ranks of the Libyan opposition. Under these conditions, arming the Libyan opposition means arming the terrorists, which threatens Washington with very serious reputational costs. Most importantly, in which case it will be impossible to say: “But we did not know that there are terrorists there.” Well knew.
Based on all this, those who started the Libyan war now have two options. The first is to agree with Gaddafi on his voluntary resignation and emigration (there were even reports that the Libyan leader was ready to shelter Uganda). But now Gaddafi will not do this: for him, the military actions for now (recall the forecast of the former Russian ambassador to Libya — the Libyan leader’s 3-4 of the month will hold out) are quite successful. So, there remains a second way - to organize either a coup or an attempt on Gaddafi. However, if the United States and the allies think that by eliminating the Libyan leader, they solve the problem of Libya, they are greatly mistaken. But they usually don’t like to look this far in Washington.
