What knife is needed in the Ministry of Internal Affairs?

35
For the armament of the special forces of the internal organs various types of combat knives were created. All of these knives belong to the class of combat knives. They perform a ritual function rather than any other, their application in the process of service is extremely difficult. I have never heard any reliable stories about these knives inflicting damage to the enemy in armed clashes, and they are simply not adapted for other functions. The weight of these knives ranges from 1,5 to 2,5 kg, which is a bit much for everyday wear. The number of these knives in the Ministry of Internal Affairs is extremely insignificant, therefore it is not possible to talk about any analysis about their use during the service.

The police need a knife for everyday wear as an aid to the rescue of the victim (rescuer's knife) and as an addition to the standard gunshot arms.

After the increasing incidence of attacks on police in order to seize their personal weapons, many employees feel the need for non-lethal weapons, which allows them to be obtained and applied as soon as possible without causing fatal injuries to the attacker. Often, employees cannot use service firearms in crowded places: at train stations, airports, metro stations, sports facilities, stadiums, etc. The only weapon in this situation is a knife. It can be instantly removed and inflicted on the attacker, dissecting or stabbing wounds in the area of the body, a lesion that does not lead to the death of the attacker, but completely neutralize it.

A good durable knife is especially in demand among traffic police officers and employees of the patrol and inspection service, transport police. They are the first to arrive at places with traffic accidents. They often need to break the side window of the car, remove the victim, cut off the safety belt that has been stuck in the holder, and give first aid by cutting bloodied clothes to inspect the damage. In these cases, the countdown is on minutes, and at hand is only a Makarov pistol. Pistol trying to break the side windows of the car. When breaking the glass, you should not allow an involuntary shot to the inside of the car, therefore break the glass with the pistol grip. After such manipulations with a weapon, it is necessary, at best, to be handed over for repair, and at worst - to be written off. Therefore, the knife must have a cullet area on the handle that allows you to effectively break the glass of the car.

In marching conditions, the Interior Ministry officer first of all needs to cook dinner, open the stew, cut bread, chop up branches for a fire and spruce branches for rest. In all these cases, we need not a combat knife, but an ordinary economic one. No normal person will take two knives with him to the mountains, he already has something to carry. In mountainous terrain, every gram of load matters.

The knife should be small in size, but weighty and durable. The weight of the knife is necessary when cutting branches and for other economic work. The blade thickness affects the strength characteristics of the knife. When working with the presented knife, the person should not be afraid to break the knife. The small size of the knife is relevant when patrolling streets with Ministry of Internal Affairs outfits on cars. A man with a knife on his belt should sit normally in a car, the knife should not prevent a person from being in a car for a long time while patrolling. The sheaths should allow fixing them under a regular leather trouser belt of a field uniform of an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a soldier. The combat effectiveness of the knife must be high enough so that you can inflict significant physical damage to the enemy.

What knife is needed in the Ministry of Internal Affairs?

1 drawing

All these criteria are most fully met by the knife shown in the 1 drawing. It is not a weapon and special means, its use does not require any changes in the law “On Police” in the sections “Use of special means and firearms”. This knife can be worn constantly, without fear of losing it. The loss of this knife does not entail any penalties, since it can be freely purchased. At the base of the knife handle there is a metal protrusion that allows you to inflict painful blows on the attacking enemy and allows you to smash the side windows of the cars. Seryotornaya sharpening on the butt of the blade allows you to effectively cut the ropes, ropes, seat belts, clothing of the victim. The blade of the knife has sharpening and descents located at different angles, which makes it convenient to cut relatively soft materials (wood, food, etc.) and hard materials (opening cans, zinc with cartridges, etc.). The large thickness of the knife and the blade, which is one with the shank, gives it enough weight required for cutting branches and branches, provides greater strength of the knife when it is bent. The blade is made of corrosion-resistant heat-treated steel 95X18, which provides the knife with good performance properties. Blade knife dagger type allows the enemy to cause extensive and deep wounds.

This design of the knife will also be in demand by people, often for a long time going to the forest, hunting, fishing, hiking.

The knife in the 1 drawing submitted for consideration is not a cold weapon according to four criteria: blade length 88 mm, blade thickness

6 mm, the tip of the blade has an angle of inclination 730, sharpening the blade on the bevel and part of the butt is less than 1 / 3 from the blade length (the length of the blade sharpening on the bevel 28,5 mm, blade length 88 mm). According to GOST R 51501-99 “Travel knives and special sport knives. General Specifications "The knife is not a cold weapon and is classified as a tourist knife (see pp. 4.16, 4.19, 5.2), therefore, its open wearing, use and use can not be limited to any regulations and regulations.

Below are the items GOST P 51501-99 and GOST P 51644-2000.

P. 4.16 For tourist and special sports knives, additional sharpening is possible on the bevel and the part of the butt for a length not exceeding the 1 / 3 blade (from its tip). The degree of such sharpening is not limited.

P. 4.19 Travel and special sports knives may have additional items and accessories like household (awl, corkscrew, opener, ax, compass, first aid kit, matches, durable cord, etc.), and special purpose (sharpened in the form of a hook for cutting ropes and a sling, a saw for a tree, made on the butt of the main blade, either as a separate item, fishing gear, screwdriver, etc.) that can be placed on the handle (in its cavity or on the top) or directly on the blade as well as the shank Tina (at transforming knives) in a sheath (sheath) of the knife.

P. 5.2 The thickness of the butt of blades with a hardness higher than 25 HRC of tourist and special sports knives is more than 2,4 mm in cases where the length of their blades is less than 90 mm.

GOST R 51644-2000 “Knives for cutting and skinning. General technical conditions. "

P. 4.6. In the design of blades and handles of cutting and skinning knives, the possibility of inflicting stabbing strikes characteristic of hunting knives in the specified cases should be excluded: the angle of convergence of the tip of the blade of the knife can exceed 70 °; blade butt thickness - exceed 5-6 mm; the point of the curved blade is located above the butt line by more than 5 mm; blade and handle - have a bend along the butt and the upper part in the form of a rocker with a deflection of more than 15-20 mm, there is no stopper and subfinger pockets on the handle, which makes it traumatic, etc.).

The author of these lines would very much like to hear the opinion of service people and just lovers and experts on knives about this knife. Write your opinions to my email: [email protected]. If I understand that it is needed for the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, then there is a possibility that it will be adopted and given to the fighters as a trench tool.

"A good durable knife is especially in demand among the traffic police .."

He was an eyewitness on several occasions when indignant and furious drivers threatened to smell a traffic policeman with a rod in t.s. ass. Therefore, for the safety of the nuts themselves, the knife should be smaller in size, without emphasis (guard), and the sheath should be without external burrs, rounded in shape and copiously polished. laughing

Why reinvent the wheel? As it was shown on TV in the usa, for police officers, rescuers, etc. they make folding knives for all occasions, though they don't go retail, but what is typical in our store I took away an exact copy of the same knife, worth 300 rubles, bought it and use it normally. A special knife for PPS and traffic police, do not tell me it is not needed, the more the author classifies it as a tourist knife. But regarding the use of the service PM, no matter how well he knows the rules for the use of weapons, in 9 out of 10 cases it is not realistic to use it, knowing our "human rights" community.

      Why reinvent the wheel?

I agree, it’s not worth inventing a bicycle,
but it is worth taking advantage of the experience of “experienced warriors”, now consisting of private security structures.

The author of the article did not come across a work called
"Individual bodyguard outfit. Current requirements and recommendations"?
      Posted by Alexander Milyukov,
Member of the Professional Bodyguard Association (UK),
President of the Practical Shooting Association (Ukraine).

      Excerpt from the article:
"The basic elements that should definitely be included in the wearable bodyguard set are:
      - folding knife (Spyderco, ColdSteel) -
      clearly an indispensable and convenient element for performing small daily tasks and, possibly, self-defense;
      - multifunctional tool (Leatherman, Gerber) -
      necessary for carrying out operational technical inspection, elimination of minor malfunctions and small locksmithing;
      - wearable individual first-aid kit
      "

My opinion regarding the drawing from the article:
      Lever.
The shape of the handle is not comfortable enough to hold:
under significant loads, the knife can slip out of the hand.
      Material of handle.
Judging by the drawing, it is assumed that the plastic is riveted.
I propose to consider the option of lacing crosswise.
      Lanyard.
I advise you to provide a hole under the lanyard. You yourself know why you need it.
      Cullet.
Did the author see what a cullet looks like?
Usually it is made in the form of a metal cone.

In marching conditions, the MVD officer first of all needs to cook dinner, open the stew, chop the bread, chop the branches for a fire and lapnik for rest.

The blade of the knife proposed by the author is short for cutting branches, and its thickness is quite impressive.
I tried to cut bread and sausage with a knife with a thick blade.
It was always possible to shred only thick pieces of sausage,
and it was better to break the bread with your hands.

I agree with Yurich, there is no need to reinvent the wheel. There was a knife "Bulat", good steel, but functionality - both in combat use and in everyday use - was zero. And in the outfit of a commando, a policeman, a rescuer, a knife is needed, I will not give examples, but human life sometimes depends on the presence of a knife. Any rescuer of the Ministry of Emergency Situations can confirm this.

    > Various types of combat knives have been created to arm the special forces of internal organs. All these knives belong to the class of combat knives. They perform a ritual function rather than any other; their use in the process of performing service is extremely difficult. I have never heard any reliable stories that with these knives someone inflicted damage on the enemy in clashes,

This is due to the fact that coming with knives to a shootout is not comme il faut. If the holster is a service Makarov, it makes no sense to rush into a saber attack.

    > The policeman needs a knife for everyday use as an aid to rescue a victim (rescuer knife) and as a supplement to regular firearms.

Actually, riot policemen, investigators, and employees of the Khozu, who saw the criminal only on TV, also belong to the "police". It is proposed for all of them to make one universal knife? Oh well…

    > After the increased incidence of attacks on police officers in order to take possession of their personal weapons, many employees feel the need for non-lethal weapons that allow them to quickly get them and use them without causing fatal injuries to the attacker.

A knife is not a lethal weapon? And then, if the attack is carried out with the aim of taking possession of the weapon, the policeman has the right to use this very weapon, and then some kind of schizophrenic situation turns out- “Let us give the policeman a gun and a knife in order to protect this gun from the bandits” .

    > Often, employees cannot use service firearms in crowded places: at train stations, airports, metro stations, sports facilities, stadiums, etc. The only weapon in this situation is a knife.

That is, about such items as PR-73, a stun gun, a gas spray, etc. the author did not hear?

    > It can be instantly removed and inflicted on the attacker with dissecting or stab wounds in the area of the body, a defeat that does not lead to the death of the attacker, but completely neutralizes him.

Well, apply a “cutting blow” to a person in a down jacket and sweater, or stabbing with the “iron” that the author drew below. This is not raising the issue of the need to train police officers to fencing as well.

    > They often need to break the side window of the car,

And it’s better to mount something difficult to come up with here.

    > Cut off the stuck seat belt by cutting the bloody clothing to inspect for damage.

Trim with a brick-like piece of iron with BILATERAL sharpening? After such a "circumcision", you can no longer rush to get the victim.

    (Continued)
    > In field conditions, an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs first of all needs to cook dinner, open the stew, cut bread,

If it were my will, I would have sentenced the author to a year of corrections in the form of slicing bread and opening cans with what he invented.

    > The knife should be small, but heavy and strong.

Why should he be "weighty"? a knife, an ax will never replace, but it will irretrievably lose its knife functions.

    > The thickness of the blade affects the strength characteristics of the knife.

And also on the quality of the cut, which the author apparently forgot.

    > The combat effectiveness of the knife must be high enough to inflict significant physical damage on the enemy.

Yeah, let's give the saber .... and select the gun.

Well, now, in fact, according to the drawing.
    - The cutting part is five centimeters. What can they chop? Add to this the low slopes at six millimeter thickness of the blade. It’s easier to chop bread with an ax, Chesslove. This item will not cut and chop anything harder than sour cream, it will get stuck, and not the fact that the owner wants to get it.
    - The tip. It’s not clear what it is for — why did you need to make such an angular transition of the tip into the cutting edge? This reduces the cutting properties of the subject (to call IT a knife — the tongue has not turned) to none. Stabbing with such a thing is certainly possible, but only if the person in the clothes is wearing shorts and a T-shirt. The author should meditate on the picture with the dagger SAS /
-Serratory part of the blade. Again, the author should meditate on the serrator on the same Spiderco knives. I just strongly doubt that the most beautiful serreitor will outweigh all the disadvantages of the knife having no normal butt, on which you can tap and rest your hand with your hand, and which you will not cut anyone by accident.
“I won’t say anything concrete on the hilt, but personally I would beware of taking one in my hands.”

    PS Author, use IT yourself.

I think the problem in the article is exaggerated, especially when you read it. - "In field conditions, an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs first of all needs to cook dinner, open the stew, cut bread, chop branches for a fire and spruce branches for rest.", As well as about the fact that it is inconvenient to break glass with PM. Of course, our traffic police officers do not have editors and other tools in their patrol cars! I will not minus the article, but I will express myself:
The loss of this knife does not entail any penalties, since it can be freely purchased

It is better to lose such a thing right away and buy something more convenient and functional, especially since everyone has their own approach to choosing a knife and to the tasks performed by this knife. By the way, no one has created an "ideal" knife for this very reason. The choice is now huge, why reinvent the wheel.

The knife blade has sharpening and descents located at different angles, which makes it convenient to cut relatively soft materials (wood, products, etc.) and hard ones (opening cans, zinc with cartridges, etc.)

Here, the main thing is not to confuse which side, what to cut laughing and at what angles to sharpen. Also, a sharpener and a flint should go to the knife in the kit, if suddenly the employee has a flashlight or matches become wet.

The blade of a dagger-type knife allows you to inflict extensive and deep wounds on the enemy.

It is also necessary to organize knife fighting courses for the traffic police.

will be adopted and given to fighters as a trench tool

The blade should be close in shape to the sapper shovel laughing

Unfortunately, the author of the article did not take up his job. His feelings are quite understandable - the Ministry of Internal Affairs does not have a full-time knife yet. But this does not mean that you need to run ahead of the engine and try to do the work of those who specialize in these things.
Alas, the article can be accepted only as an accelerating topic for a theoretical discussion with a comprehension of the subject. The proposed practical solution will go to the waste dump.

Yes, there have never been knives in service with the police (militia)! They don't really need them. Another thing is with special units, and then no one used them. As for steel, strong forging is not always needed, unfortunately it is fragile. He had a lot of knives like "gyurza", "kazak", etc. In addition, I am still not bad at throwing them and made sure that sometimes it is better even to have a knife made of spring and not overheated hi Let it rust, but ... in short, to each his own.

mattress makers have their own concepts, but in fact, the MOD company focuses on very specific products, although there is a suspicion that from the variety of their products, only a few serve, since the same "legendary" Mark V Atac has long been seen on sale as a hunting one, however crap that still.
With regards to steels, it’s normal for a spring 56, another thing is that for 45ZX13 it is declared at the limit, for propellants, so they must have a hardness of 50-52, more often 45-48, but with regards to it, the current gurus give out as good what it’s just to be it shouldn’t, but they just don’t want to see yet another vacation operation because of savings. And for rusting, there’s a sorry exit, either, BT titanium alloys, at the same time and a decent thickness can be driven, or steel grades ХН-ХНТ, or Х12фм

They perform rather a ritual function,... He presented RP-79 and the inscription "... Sergeant Pupkin for 25 years of valiant beating off the kidneys to drunks and gopot ... laughing "But in reality, whoever needs, say, a multitool, will buy it himself. And the adoption of a knife for" arming "will result in the next" cutting "of state grandmothers. The headline of the article has killed at all. , screwdrivers and sharpened spoons offer to issue)))

For arming special forces of internal organs created various types of combat knives. All these knives belong to the class of combat knives. They fulfill a rather ritual function than any other; their use in the process of serving is extremely difficult. I have never heard reliable stories that with these knives someone inflicted damage on the enemy in clashes, and for other functions, they simply are not adapted.
This article is either a joke or a mockery of common sense. "Special forces of internal organs", what is it? Kidneys, liver, etc.? Is he talking about scalpels and lancets? Further in the text ... The poor fellow did not hear about the combat use of combat knives! This is not even illiteracy, this is a "clinic" !!! You have to read something else besides comics. Let's go further ... If a traffic cop uses a firearm, his lawyers will scold, and if he knocks someone with a knife - a whip in the anus? In short, sheer nonsense and heresy !!!

Rave. There are a bunch of folding special knives. For example, I have a quiz, in which there is a knife and a sling cutter and an opener. And what is shown in the picture, the shelter is bespontovy. About knife fight with the criminal, I generally will not say anything.
