Wealthy Americans create special advantages for their children, due to which they make it impossible for the children who were born in less wealthy families to climb the income ladder.
It was the conservatives (Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush) who pushed through measures that contributed to the strengthening of inequality in the United States (meaning the relevant tax policy). The conservative policy of many years has contributed to the decline in economic mobility in America. Young Americans do not believe that thanks to the free market they can rise above the circumstances of their birth.
Further, the author writes that the new American generation has a long and difficult job ahead of reviving American exclusivity.
