As a result, a breakthrough product should be obtained in the field of helicopter construction. New methods of designing compressors, combustion chambers, turbines, parts made of composite materials - these and other newest world developments will find a place in the innovative project of the enterprise.

Manufacturer aviation engines - the plant named after the famous Soviet designer Vladimir Klimov will celebrate its 100th anniversary this year. Although there was a moment when doubts arose that the company would live to see such a solid anniversary. In 2004, the plant was threatened with bankruptcy. But the new team led by the executive director Alexander Vatagin managed to rectify the situation. Since then, the production program of the enterprise has been steadily increasing, and in recent years - especially rapidly.

According to the results of 2013, sales of the plant’s products, primarily in the aircraft engine production program, exceeded last year’s level by 20 percent. As a result, the company's profits doubled and reached a quarter of a billion rubles.

- Still, the main direction of the plant development is the development and implementation of innovative products. In this case, we will gradually be freed from non-knowledge-intensive industries, which are fully capable of mastering other plants. "Anchor" enterprises, such as ours, should keep the most difficult thing - high-precision manufacturing, finishing operations, - said Alexander Vatagin, executive director of OAO Klimov, at a meeting with trade union leaders of St. Petersburg enterprises of the real sector of the economy. - When we worked on a strategic development plan for the enterprise, we took the horizon in 50 years. And this is not a remote perspective at all. You can not build a strategy, especially at a time when we, in fact, create a new enterprise on the production site in Shuvalov, without looking into the future. According to the forecasts of Russian and foreign scientists, the high rates of scientific and technical development in the coming years will allow us to enter the next so-called sixth technological order. Today we are implementing a breakthrough innovative project.

The rate on the innovative way of development of the enterprise dictates the corresponding personnel policy. At the plant, they note that since the Soviet times they have adhered to the obligatory indicator here: the number of designers at enterprises that develop and manufacture products themselves must be 10 percent of the list. Today, at Klimov, with a total number of 1825 people in the design offices, there are about three hundred specialists working, which is close to 20%. And although the company intends to somewhat reduce the staffing, no reductions are planned in these units. Moreover, in Klimov, they set themselves a special task of extraordinary complexity.

“Helicoptership is one of the most conservative areas, now we produce engines designed and upgraded in previous decades,” said Alexey Grigoriev, General Designer of Klimov. - But it is time to work for the future. The design departments of the plant set themselves the task of creating an engine that will remain modern on 40 - 50 years ahead. The work is not easy, it will take more than one year, but there is confidence that such a breakthrough product of world quality in our plant will be developed.

Another task, which also, of course, should be attributed to the strategic one, is the implementation of sectoral programs for replacing imported components and parts with domestic products. In 2013, the 10 first VK-2500 helicopter engines were assembled entirely from Russian components. In subsequent years, their number is planned to increase exponentially.

The results of the year, OJSC Klimov are impressive, but the main achievement of the plant's executive director, Alexander Vatagin, called the growth of labor productivity. The company reached one of the highest workings in the industry per worker, compared with last year it grew by almost a third.

- At the same time, the average salary in our country is 45 thousand 800 rubles, and for workers - 42 thousand rubles. This is not bad, but not a ceiling at all. According to the social development plan, in 2016, the plant should reach the average salary level in 80 thousand rubles, - said Vladimir Nozdryakov, chairman of the trade union organization of Klimov OJSC. - Updated and staffing. In the 2013 year, more than one hundred new employees were recruited, and more than half of them were before the 35 age.
