MAKS-2013, "Falcons of Russia", single Su-34

36
Su-34 piloted by General Kharchevsky. The weather was bad, but we still photographed :-))) So, the Falcons of Russia with four Su-2013 and one Su-27 arrived at the MAKS-34. After the passage, they separated and worked separately: Su-34 and Su-27 group. In the first part, take a look at the Su-34.

They came in at the top five. At the center of the Su-34 and on the sides of the 4 su-27. Su-34 with tail number 28.

made a circle group

and started to go to the cloud

The chief designer of the two-seater fighter-bomber with the initial designation of the Su-27IB (factory code of the T-10B) was appointed R.G. Martirosov, general management was headed by General Designer MP Simonov.

The design and refinement of one of the serial Su-27UBs to the prototype of the T-10B-1 fighter-bomber were completed, mainly by 1990. The 42 vehicle serial number was a serial “split”, in which the standard fuselage head was replaced The new two-seater cabin and entrance through the niche of the front landing gear, the new influx of wing and other changes according to the project fighter-bomber.

The first flight of the prototype, which was piloted by Honored Test Pilot A.A. Ivanov, took place at 13.04.1990 at the airfield of LII. M.M.Gromova. Subsequently, comprehensive tests of the aircraft with the new head of the fuselage, air refueling, and other studies took place.

For serial production of a new aircraft was elected NAPO them. V.P. Chkalov, previously known as Plant No. 153 and Novosibirsk aviation factory (NAZ). The first aircraft was built in late autumn 1993, and on December 18, test pilots I.V. Votintsev and E.G. Revunov took it on their first flight, accompanied by a Su-24 bomber with a crew of test pilots E.N. Rudakas and A.I. Gaivoronsky.

In 1995, the repainted Su-34 with tail number 45 was presented at the international air show in Le Bourget (France) under the name Su-32FN (Fighter Navy - naval fighter). It was the third name of the same aircraft (the customer still calls it Su-27IB, development company - Su-34, abroad - Su-32, at the factory - T-10B).

To date, it seems like 7 prototypes and 46 production aircraft have been produced. Perhaps more. Unit cost 1,05 billion rubles (~$32 million)

The new Su-34 is intended to replace the older Su-24 bombers.

12 and 22 December 2011 of the year six new Su-34 bombers arrived at the Baltimore Air Force Base in Voronezh, so this base became the first Air Force unit to receive these machines, and from there it came to us.

The aircraft is piloted by Alexander Nikolaevich Kharchevsky (born 9 in May 1950) - Head of 4 of the State Center for Training of Aviation Personnel and Military Tests (Lipetsk). Lead aerobatic team "Falcons of Russia". Honored Military Pilot of the Russian Federation, Major General Aviation. Former Head of the Military Training and Scientific Center of the Air Force “Air Force Academy named after Professor N. Ye. Zhukovsky and Yu. A. Gagarin” (Voronezh) - VUNC VVS Air Force (Voronezh) in Voronezh and 4 Center for combat use and retraining of flight personnel.

for maximum take-off weight with a full refueling of the internal fuel tank of 12 tons on the Su-34, you can hang about 11 tons to the external suspension
and in tests on the Su-34 and 14t they hung up without adding fuel

I don’t know about NATO, but they say that the last time the Georgian, or rather the Ukrainian, presented Yushchenko to his godfather, anti-aircraft gunners ...
During combat use, the Su-34 destroyed the key Georgian 36D6-M radar near the village of Shavshvebi near Gori. According to eyewitnesses of the conflict, two Su-34 aircraft participated in it (side numbers No. 01 and No.46). The first engaged in electronic warfare, interfered with built-in EW units and wing containers, and the second fired at airfields, Georgian air defense systems, and radar with anti-radar missiles (PRR).

Many thanks to the author for the report. Always loved aviation, although he served in the air defense.
The duck is really pretty and serious full face.

    ...
I wanted to ask the experts how much the classification is justified as a bomber fighter? The fact that the front bomber is understandable, but how much can it be a fighter? If only on what thread a scow, like B-52 ...

Case SU34, not aerobatics. But accurate, bombing, like a front-line bomber.
Su 27 UB, created for aerobatics.

Thank. That's exactly what I thought.

Those. during BB2 there were isolated cases when the IL-2 entered into an air battle with the Luftwaffe fighter and won it. But these are exceptions.

Undoubtedly, in terms of maneuverability, the SU-34, like a front-line bomber, is inimitable. But it seems to me that this is more likely in order to normally maintain the general order of the fighters accompanying him, and not in order to engage in an air battle. And the fact that he has serious chances to snap himself at the attacking fighter himself is obvious at first glance. The duck turned out to be very pugnacious. smile
By the way, his predecessor SU-24, one of my favorite aircraft. A buddy on the far serves on him (scout).

The Su-34 is a very serious bomber, it’s difficult to sell.It can easily replace the Tu-22M3, refueling in the air and more inconspicuous with a low-profile flight silhouette and precision missiles, with no complicated modernization, it will bring a lot of noise. ideally, engines from the future T-50, with supersonic sound without afterburner. This will be hell for the enemy. The glider is very promising, another 50 years.
