EW complex "Krasukha-4"
The ceremony of transferring the two XEUMNRLX 1 EW systems "Krasukha-257" took place in the middle of November at the Bryansk Electromechanical Plant. Earlier, in the spring of this year, KRET handed over to the customer the first four complexes of the ordered six. Thus, the contract in the framework of the State Defense Order-4, concerning the new electronic warfare complexes, was fully completed before the end of autumn. In the future, it is planned to build and transfer to the military another batch of EW complexes of the new model.
Electronic warfare station 1RL257 "Krasukha-4" is designed to counter airborne shock, reconnaissance and unmanned radars aviation conditional opponent. It is argued that the capabilities of a broadband active jamming station make it possible to effectively deal with all modern radar stations used on various types of aircraft. According to some reports, the Krasukha-4 electronic warfare system is capable of jamming not only the signal of enemy radar stations, but also the radio channels for controlling unmanned aerial vehicles.
Development of the complex "Krasuha-4" began in the mid-nineties. Simultaneously with the 1РЛ257 complex, a system of similar purpose 1Л269 "Krasukha-2" was developed. The complexes differ from each other in the composition of the equipment used, the characteristics and the chassis used. So, the complex "Krasukha-2" is mounted on the four-axle chassis BAZ-6910-022, and "Krasukha-4" - on the four-axle chassis of the KamAZ plant. Information allowing to make a detailed list of differences between the complexes is classified.
The project "Krasuha-4" involved several organizations. The development of the complex was conducted by the VNII Gradient (Rostov-on-Don), the Kvant plant in Novgorod took part in the production and testing of an experimental sample, and the EW machines were mass-produced by the Bryansk Electromechanical Plant. According to some information, an enterprise from Bryansk receives a number of components of the complex from related industries, and a part is manufactured on site. The technical design of the REB 1RLX257 "Krasuha-4" system was ready at the end of the last decade. In 2011, mass production began.
Unfortunately, due to the novelty, the characteristics of the Krasukha-4 complex are unknown. In open sources there are only fragmentary information. So, according to available data, the 1RLX257 complex includes two cars with special equipment. Both machines are equipped with a complex of electronic equipment and antennas of various designs. One of the machines has an antenna unit on a sliding rod, apparently intended for communication. On the roof of the second machine is installed a set of characteristic antennas. Three parabolic antennas can be rotated in any direction and raised to any angle. Thus, the complex EW "Krasukha-4" is able to transmit a radio signal without restrictions in azimuth and elevation.
Both machines of the complex use digital equipment with high performance. Some sources state that a number of equipment components are rather difficult to manufacture and can take up to several days to produce one board. Nevertheless, such a board can replace several large blocks of analog hardware. It is known that the XEUM XRUM1 “Krasuha-257” station can interfere with a wide range of frequencies. The range of action, according to some, exceeds 4 kilometers.
The main task of the EW complex is to counter the radar stations of various types of aircraft. To do this, according to some media, the complex "Krasukha-4" has the appropriate algorithms. The equipment is able to detect the source of the radio signal (aircraft radar), analyze it and, if necessary, put interference on the desired frequency.
According to public information, to date, the Ministry of Defense has received six electronic warfare systems "Krasuha-4". Their places of service were not disclosed, which is connected with the specifics of the combat work of such systems. As for the other development of KRET, the Krasuha-2 complex, it is also being supplied to the Russian armed forces. In addition, it is offered for export.
