Six great innovations embodied in the satellite Chang'e-3
In 01: 30 December 2 from the Xichang Cosmodrome South-West China launched the moon satellite sounding system Chang'e-3 with the moon rover on board. It is expected that after the satellite’s launch into the circumlunar orbit, the “Yuytu” lunar rover “Jade hare”, designed and built by experts of the Chinese Academy of Space Technologies CACT, will make a “soft” landing around the Gulf of rainbow.
Scientists from KAKT the other day, in an interview with an agency correspondent, explained what technical difficulties had been overcome in creating the first Chinese lunar rover.
It is known that the Moon does not have an atmosphere, therefore the process of “landing on the moon” occurs in a completely different way than the “landing”. Therefore, only with the help of our own propulsion system, it is possible to ensure gradual and smooth deceleration of the spacecraft, the speed of which when approaching the moon, according to experts, is 1,7 km / sec.
At the same time, for a safe landing in the established zone, it is also necessary to precisely adjust the position of the apparatus, for which the onboard "Chang'e-3" is installed a variable-thrust engine in 7,5 kN, designed by Chinese experts.
Specialists in the homing, navigation and motion control system of the KAKT moon rover reported that special sensors would be able to measure the speed and distance from the lunar surface and recognize the terrain with high accuracy.
It is possible that the spacecraft will turn over from a strong impact at the time of landing on the lunar surface, which, in addition, is known to be covered with a thick layer of loose dust. Therefore, with the impact of the spacecraft, a huge amount of dust will undoubtedly be thrown upwards, which represents a threat to the further "journey" of the lunar rover. To overcome the above problems, the Yuuta moon walker is equipped with a shock absorber designed and manufactured using special technologies.
The temperature drops during the change of day and night on the surface of the moon are quite sharp: in the daytime the temperature reaches 150 degrees Celsius, and at night it drops to 180 degrees below zero. In this case, the specialists had to solve the problem of heating and cooling the onboard devices. According to the report, the Chang'e-3 satellite is equipped with a variable conduction heat pipe that has never been installed on other interplanetary vehicles before.
In addition to dust, there are stones and craters of various sizes on the lunar surface. Ensuring the "confident" motion of the moon rover was another of the main tasks in the development of the satellite. Reportedly, the “Yuytu” chassis consists of a suspension and a six-wheel driving part, which are capable of moving the lunar rover forward, backward, turning in place, and also having high throughput.
To ensure a long "journey" on the surface of the moon, reliable operation and safety of the moon rover, it is necessary to develop a system for remote control of the movement of the apparatus. Thanks to the efforts of specialists, this problem was solved in time. Scientists are confident that in a matter of days the onboard radio complexes of the moonwalker "Yuytu" will receive the first commands from the Earth.
