Under the ABM limitation agreement, this could not be done. In July 1974, according to the additional protocol to this Treaty, it was allowed to have only one such system: either around the capital, or in the area of launchers of ICBMs (for the USSR - with a center in the capital; for the USA - based on the Grand Forks).

As you know, the United States unilaterally withdrew from the ABM Treaty. Now, in fact, you can protect at least every home.

Something seems to me that the Americans have long scored an ABM treaty on this treaty. We should take an example from them. And let them worry then.

The USA withdrew from the treaty on January 13, 2001. Its validity still lasted 6 months until June 12, 2001.
It cannot be said that the Russians are not taking steps in this regard. For example, early warning stations of the Voronezh type (in Armavir) have proven their expediency and combat readiness this year by showing missile launches in the Mediterranean Sea. Isn't it a missile defense element? Now there are 3 of them, but as VVP said, 7 more are needed. And then you see, the S-400, S-500 will arrive in time.

You confuse missile defense and air defense. These are different things. And the protection is accordingly different.

I am talking about SPRN stations. Exactly like the S-400, which also fit into the framework of missile defense. The only one who (possibly) will marry them will be the S-500.

At the moment, for more than 10 years, the United States withdrew from the ABM limitation treaty. Therefore, the Agreement is not valid and, accordingly, Russia is free from obligations. In fact, now it is possible to build any stations and missiles regardless of this Treaty. After all, the USA is building an umbrella over its territory and Europe. And it will not hurt us to protect our sky.

I wrote that we could build all this infrastructure and weapons even under the conditions of the treaty. It was not he who disturbed us, but rather the lack of money.

Yes, but the defense of Moscow is primarily associated with the need to protect the command and control system, unlike other cities

The object is sometimes referred to as the A-135, but on sites dedicated to missile defense of Moscow, it is referred to as the A-35M Tobol.

Missile defense system - a multi-channel missile defense system in Moscow with an atmospheric anti-missile system - modernization of the A-35 missile defense system using updated algorithms,
guidance equipment, with a silo-type launcher and a new A-350R missile.

    On the territory are:
    - 8 missile silos of the A-35 missile defense system. Entrance hatches in 2 of them are not welded, and access to the inside is free. All the stairs are iron, but already in very poor condition due to a slight flooding of the mines.
    - 6 radar installations, surprisingly not completely plundered. Particular attention should be paid to the battery compartment and the installation on the roof of the building. A lot of electrolyte and broken containers from under it remained in the battery compartment, so be careful, and you can experience an amazing audio effect inside the sphere above.
    - 2 bunkers for staff, unfortunately, in poor condition and completely looted.

The territory is practically not guarded, although in the middle there remained a live and guarded communications center and generators.

And more photos are not a problem, enjoy http://urban3p.ru/object2758/gallery/

I still think that the A-35 and A-135 are different. To be honest, when I served in 1988-90, I didn’t even know what the system is called. Our unit took up test duty in 1990.

I know that around Moscow at one time, there were three rings and they were called green. And all strategic objects at that time had the same system throughout the USSR. As now not in the know.

The photographs are of course exorbitant, what a tough techno, star wars in action. A black and white format only enhances the perception.
Well, for those who merged this whole economy and left it to their own devices, I don’t even have the imagination to come up with a punishment.

No panic, only no panic: everything is going according to plan, the ship is going to the bottom. This is what the conclusion suggests itself from the comments read. But I want to remind you that Moscow's air defense / missile defense system has been updated and even strengthened, despite all attempts to destroy it by our "fifth "Columns (of the so-called dermokrats)! The old gives way to the new, but it only upsets the careless attitude to closed objects, because it is not necessary to destroy it could be adapted for any needs. This was built for the people's money!"
