Trans-Pacific Partnership as a reverse side of market liberalism
According to WikiLeaks, the project covers countries representing more than 40% of global GDP. According to the informing organization, soon (19-24 of November 2013 of the year) in the USA (Salt Lake City, Utah) a summit of TPP main negotiators will take place. The draft text, which has been made available to WikiLeaks, shows the widest range of areas that will fall under supranational global control, if only the document is signed by the participating States. The agreement will apply to medicines, biological patents, publishing, Internet service providers and civil liberties.
Recall that the Trans-Pacific Trade Agreement involves the abolition of customs duties on goods and services between member states. The stated purpose of the trade pact sounds pretty good: the liberalization of the economies of the Pacific Rim countries. The first to lift duties agreed Chile, New Zealand, Brunei, Singapore. The United States could not stay away from such a global initiative and also joined the negotiators. Behind America, Australia, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Peru became interested in the pact. Next, the participants invited to TPP Canada, Mexico and Japan. Thus, a circle of twelve states has been formed, which are preparing to say a new word not only in the world economy, but also in geopolitics. Twelve is not the limit: the Philippines, Thailand and Colombia can join the treaty.
One of the most interesting aspects of the treaty is its secrecy. In the USA, even congressmen cannot get acquainted with the entire text of the document. It has been established that only three people in each TPP state have the right to familiarize themselves with the full version of the contract.
Michael Snyder ("Activist Post"), citing numerous sources, analyzed the policy of the American administration in relation to this agreement.
The author quotes the concept of “trade agreement”, thus making it clear that this is not only about liberal commerce. Do you know, he asks, that the Obama administration is negotiating a top-secret “trade agreement” without even allowing members of Congress to read the text? The treaty has 29 chapters, but only 5 of them are related to trading! The author points out that most Americans are not aware of this, but the document will fundamentally change American laws on Internet freedom, healthcare, derivatives trading, copyright issues, food security, environmental standards, civil liberties, and many others.
At the same time, the document integrates the United States into the emerging global economic system much deeper.
Why does Mr. Obama not want the American people to know about the content of the treaty? Snyder believes that after the countries sign the document, the American people will get very strict restrictive measures in the Internet sphere - under the guise of a fight for copyrights, and Wall Street dealers will get much more freedom in their risky operations. Moreover, the American economy will finally dissolve into the world. A number of points indicate that Obama could not have conducted the text through Congress. However, next spring, he hopes, “at the last minute”, to get the congressmen’s consent to this “free trade agreement” before the assessors understand what the pact threatens.
The author of the Infowars website Kurt Nimmo, referring to WikiLeaks, indicates that access to TPP projects is protected from the general public. Even members of the US Congress can view only selected fragments associated with the contract, and under strict control. Previously it was found that only three people in each country of the agreement have access to the full text of the document. Meanwhile, 600 trade advisors acting as lobbyists, guarding the interests of large US corporations (Chevron, Halliburton, Monsanto, and Walmart), received privileged access to important sections of the text.
Usually, such free trade agreements are approved by a majority in the House of Representatives and the Senate, which is preceded by a long debate. But today, the White House is looking for a way to get around the discussion, appealing to "trade facilitation." Hiding behind the need for such "assistance", the president may require Congress to vote within 90 days and without any amendments.
Of course, in the US, not everyone is satisfied with the behavior of the president.
Some members of Congress have already "woken up." A week ago, a small group of Republicans and a small group of Democrats sent Obama a letter strongly condemning this agreement.
Any participating country will be obliged to rewrite all of its internal laws and regulations in favor of TPP, obeying the rules that will dictate to corporations. In essence, this is a coup d'état. Moreover, unlike most of the domestic US law, the TPP contract will not have a term of validity.
The author believes that the gradual merger of the American economy with the economy of the rest of the planet is a complete disaster for America. Here are some simple statistics.
The United States is experiencing a trade deficit of more than 8 trillions of dollars in trade with the rest of the world (from 1975 onwards). The US has lost more than 56000 enterprises since the start of the 2001 year. If in 2000, more than 17 of millions of Americans worked in production, today their number is less than 12 of millions. According to the Institute for Economic Policy, every year America loses up to half a million jobs, due to the fact that production goes to China. According to Professor Alan Blinder from Princeton University, if the current trend continues, more 40000000 jobs in the United States will be transferred to offshore over the next two decades.
The new “free trade” treaty, Snyder writes, is neither free nor fair, and he will “absolutely gut” the middle class.
In the review on the portal Global Research It is noted that the TPP contract, as well as the TTIP (Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership), excludes China. It is noted that TPP and TTIP together can cover more than 60% of world GDP.
Top government officials, including President Obama, announced their intention to sign and ratify the TPP before the end of 2013.
WikiLeaks editor-in-chief Julian Assange said that the US administration is aggressively pushing the TPP pact.
The longest chapter in the treaty - “Enforcement” - is devoted to a detailed presentation of new global police measures, which will have far-reaching consequences and affect personal rights, civil liberties, providers' activities, private life, touches on creativity, the biological sphere, ecology, etc. . Of particular concern are supranational judicial tribunals, which take precedence over sovereign national courts and do not give guarantees of respect for human rights. These courts will be able to hold hearings, using some kind of secret evidence.
Julian Assange believes that the TPP regime will violate the rights and freedoms, lined with intellectual and creative property. If you are reading, writing, publishing, thinking, listening, dancing, singing or inventing, if you are a farmer, or if you are sick, then TPP will take you to "the crosshair of your sight."
Also, the media has learned that the United States and Australia were supporters of the toughest points in this treaty. They insist on the creation of supranational courts.
Hence it is clear who is going to dictate the basic conditions of global “liberalization” and act as a world puppeteer. Comrade Snyder fearlessly fears the national collapse of the United States: he surrenders to us, he will find the time when Barack Hussein Obama, having left the White House, will head the global judicial tribunal. He is just a lawyer by education. True, Snyder may be saddened by the fact that the NSA's total surveillance, conducted (and conducted) by Obama's “priorities”, may soon seem like a warm-up before the world match ...
