The analytical program "However," with Mikhail Leontyev 12 November 2013
As you know, Pan Yanukovych and his Party of Regions were ready to easily and joyfully betray their voters, send Russia away and sign the notorious association with the European Union. However, here the voters, haunted, of course, by Russia and its spies, began to viciously bay. And it is not possible to betray easily and joyfully.
“As a result of this pressure,” the head of the parliamentary faction “regionals” Alexander Efremov complained, “the faction is starting to escalate the situation regarding the adoption of European integration laws, which we used to adopt with greater ease than today.”
Expressing sympathy for Pan Yanukovych and his noble maid of honor, we note that he is not the only one with similar problems. There are some countries and nations where the ease of betrayal is overshadowed by known problems.
November 3 The Serbian population of Kosovo and Metohija disrupted local government elections proclaimed by the NATO members on the Serbian territory of the Republic of Kosovo. Moreover, enormous pressure on Kosovo Serbs to force them to abandon the boycott was exerted by the Serbian authorities, who signed agreements in Brussels in April, opening the way for Serbia to join the European Union in exchange for recognizing Kosovo’s independence. Part of these agreements is the surrender of 70 to thousands of Kosovo Serbs who remained in the province after Albanian ethnic cleansing.
Slavko Stevanovic (Socialist Party of Serbia), chairman of the newly created Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija, says: “People are under terrible pressure from the central Belgrade authorities. We are threatened that if the Serbs fail to vote, then the financing will stop salaries. We are told that if we do not go to the polls, a new ethnic cleansing is possible. "
Despite this, the Serbian enclaves boycotted the elections. In Kosovo Mitrovica, where the 2 percent of the population went to the polls, the Serbian authorities organized provocations when, with the full connivance of the local police and the so-called observers, the “unknown terrorists” smashed ballot boxes and scattered ballots.
The current Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic was elected on promises of rapprochement with Russia, the termination of pro-Western policies and the surrender of Kosovo. Naturally, Kosovo Serbs also voted for him.
However, at the moment when Nikolic won the elections, after the great celebrations on this occasion organized in the north of Kosovo, Nikolic and his party changed their policy towards Kosovo, having made a turn of 180 degrees.
Probably some of the benefits of Serbia from joining the European Union are more obvious than from the stupid Ukrainian "association". However, both are not the price of betrayal. All this has nothing to do with the actual betrayal. The common thing here is a commonplace recruitment - a complex complex of greed, careerism, intimidation and blackmail. Moreover, not even an agency: why should I dirty the filing cabinet? Where is he, dear, going?
Nikolic, unlike Yanukovych, is too early to sympathize. Although - God knows how it will turn around. This is still Serbia, where his predecessor Djindjic was just shot under the fence.
