Museum of small arms to them. Kalashnikova, Izhevsk

0
Museum and Exhibition Complex shooting weapons named after M.T. Kalashnikov in the city of Izhevsk was created quite recently - in 2004 year.
Despite the fact that the museum is named after Kalashnikov, the museum presents an exhibition of not only products “from the pen” by Mikhail Timofeevich.
- here all the small arms are presented, coming out of Izhevsk, having as many as 200-year-old weapons history.
But the fact is that IzhMash has its own museum, and two identical museums with the same name would definitely make confusion ...

1. At the entrance to the museum are exhibited key samples of domestic weapons, starting with an infantry silicon gun to the AN-94 Abakan automatic rifle. Mannequins dressed in military uniforms of the epoch corresponding to a specific weapon are tied to the shop windows. In the red corner of the absolutely semicircular hall, of course, AK stands out - the Soviet machine gun, known anywhere in this planet.

2. A nice, slim guide (suddenly for a museum) half-excursion enthusiastically tells non-specialists about childhood, youth and adolescence of the gun baron, the gunsmith-designer Mikhail Timofeevich Kalashnikov.

3. Archive drawings, prototypes of weapons from different years, German and other imported weapons (ruthlessly supplied to domestic factories for the purpose of copying the most successful units and solutions) are displayed in numerous elegantly glazed shop windows. In individual windows - tons of crafts and inventions of Mikhail Timofeevich, as well as gifts and souvenirs that were once given to him by someone, but in the apartment there is no place for them, apparently.

4. Prototype Kalashnikov assault rifle with balanced automation (1964 year). A device with rotating inertial elements driven by powder gases is installed above the barrel on the vertical axis. The mechanism increased the stability of weapons and their accuracy, but did not go into the series.

5. Several AKM machines (7.62-mm): with a folding butt and knife; with the device silent and flameless shooting (PBS); border option (for swimming in the fountain 28 May); Kalashnikov light machine gun; experimental machine AL-2 (Automatic Light) (developed in 1964 year with the automation scheme, located in the bull-pupp layout).

6.

7. A number of modern AK-74 machines (5.54-mm), AK-100 series machines (different calibers, including NATO), Saiga and Veprine carbines.

8.

9.

10. Aviation the GSh-6-23 gun weighs only 76 kg and produces lead at a speed of 12000 rounds per minute.

11. Submachine guns "Bison-2" (with 66 auger magazine for 9-mm PM cartridges) and Vityaz-SN (for NATO caliber - 9-mm Parabellum).

12. Dragunov's self-loading sniper rifle with a folding SDS butt.

13. Above - AK-108 and Avtomat Nikonov AN-94. On the bottom shelf - a new sniper rifle CB-98.

14. And the most "tasty" thing that distinguishes this museum from all the others is the presence of a shooting gallery in which, after parting with a certain amount of travelers, you can freely watch all of the (almost) exhibits represented by 2 floors above.

18. And this is the famous Kalashnikov Mikhail Timofeevich. He was born on November 10 1919 and now he is 91 the year:

19. And the name of the outstanding designer has long been a household name ...
