Untrained courage is useless

Shelves and brigades on the battlefields will fight just as they were prepared in peacetime.

Suvorovskoye "It is hard to learn - easy in battle" has not lost its relevance in the age of electronics, laser range finders and robotics, which cannot be mastered without simulators. Unfortunately, until recently, not every military unit could boast of modern means of training. And now, it seems, the situation has begun to change. Soon, a promising training center will open near Nizhny Novgorod, in the creation of which the German company Rheinmetall took part.

There are no analogues to the created new combat training center. It will be equipped with the same training systems and complexes, which are being trained in the most modern training centers of the Western armies. Up to the organization of "live training" - tactical exercises in real terrain with personnel, training in training facilities in a single virtual space, where the brigade commander sees all of his subordinates, directs them.

Up to KSHU with brigade

The construction of such a center is now being completed near the village of Mulino. And in Tver, in turn, on the basis of the Academy of Aerospace Defense, technical means for it are developed and debugged. The main task of such training centers is to prepare a serviceman-specialist: driver, gunner, commander of a combat vehicle, etc. They are taught to perform functional duties, so that later in the troops a person quickly goes through periods of coordination in the squad, crew, crew.

Untrained courage is useless

But the purpose of the Combat Training Center is much broader. He must quickly prepare to perform tasks for the purpose of not only a single fighter, but also entire units, up to the connection. Coordination is carried out with the use of information technology with the imitation of any climatic weather conditions. Let's say you don’t have to wait until winter comes, if you need to learn how to act, for example, in the Arctic.

In other words, the center will begin to prepare the compounds to perform any tasks that may be assigned, with the development of the entire range of tactical actions. After all, the team arrives in Mulino with its weapons in full force. Each year, up to nine combined-arms brigades will pass through the center of combat training.

In general, up to six thousand people will be able to attend the center simultaneously. For the brigade there will be a ready-made equipped camp, where each tent is a dwelling for a company equipped with air conditioning and heating systems, that is, everything necessary so that the soldier does not feel deprived and can start training as soon as possible.

To conduct bilateral exercises with laser shooting simulators, a real “enemy” will act - in the staff of the Combat Training Center there is a battalion of support for the training process, formed from contract servicemen. In this case, the characteristic tactics of actions of foreign units will be applied. Thus, the trainees provided real opposition to the composition of a well-trained unit. Here, the targets are no longer just rising and falling, but the “real” enemy is firing. This means that a fighter can be “wounded” or “killed”, which will necessarily be displayed on displays, pushing trainees to change their behavior on the battlefield.

And finally, simulators. The training complex includes a motorized rifle or tank a battalion with all the reinforcements that can be given to it: artillery, air defense units, anti-tank unit, army aviation. This is a full-fledged complex, which allows not only to harmonize the types of troops within the species, but also to conduct interspecific training.

Better than in the Bundeswehr

For some reason, it was felt that the foreign specialists are building the combat training center. In fact, the groundwork is taken from the existing and created by domestic science and industry. All training tools are produced by Russian enterprises. With regard to foreign equipment, the German company "Rheinmetall" produces a system of laser simulation of shooting and destruction. At the same time, during the creation of the Combat Training Center, we give it the opportunity to improve. That is why the system, which is now operated in the Bundeswehr, in its capabilities is significantly inferior to the equipment created by the Germans for our center.

When training at the training complex, the commander will be able to fully show his initiative, include thinking, apply non-standard techniques, in general, be creative in performing tasks. Make any maneuver, detour, coverage - all in the power of the commander. The highlight is that in a short time he is able to work out several options for performing a combat mission.

In the US Army, there is such an experience when special brigades imitate the actions of a potential adversary, and quite specific ones. But NATO forces have a specific adversary. That is, fulfilling real tasks now, say, in Afghanistan, they face a real enemy there. Accordingly, units are created under this opponent. We now have no real enemy. In our center for the enemy, as already mentioned, a battalion will be operating to ensure the learning process. I think, if necessary, the domestic industry is able to sew a form of clothing that the enemy wears to change people. We can also get samples of weapons and military equipment that are in service with it in order to prepare the fighters for real perception of the battle.

Yes, and our experience in Afghanistan, we should not lose, and lay it in the training program. To this end, the center staff has created an educational and methodological department, which will study the domestic and foreign military experience, implement it in practice.

For "debriefing" in the center created a whole division - a group of analysis and analysis. In a short time, it will help to identify the most characteristic mistakes, positive moments when performing tasks, to prepare a qualitative analysis of the actions of the students. To this end, the kit of the Combat Training Center will include six special vehicles, in which there is an equipment that receives and displays information. From the exercise control center, this data will be sent to the machines in real time. Thus, the trainees will immediately receive the necessary tips and assessments of their work. In the meantime, the commander, conducting a lesson, must memorize how the personnel acted, in order to then try to conduct an analysis. The center will record video images of military actions and other statistical information. Then it all comes together in the parsing materials.

Given the number of brigades available and the capacity, the brigade will be trained every two years at the Combat Training Center. Subsequently, if we develop a method of preparation, we will be able to shorten these periods.

The center is created in two stages. The first is the development work on the creation of a basic kit that allows the preparation of a battalion. In particular, the system of laser simulation of shooting and defeat, allowing to fight a company to the company, trainers company to the company for training. In such a volume, the Combat Training Center must be ready for December 1 of the current year. The second stage - the ability to prepare the brigade in full force, the term - 1 December 2014-th. That is, from next year we will launch the center in full.

... But the goal of the Combat Training Center is much wider. How did we DREAM about something similar - about such a training ground .......................
It seems to have everything you need.
And the training complex EXACTLY (!!!) on BTGr, and not on the battalion. And laser simulators and even prepared by BOUP.
It is not said about polygon fields, what is interesting there, what models are there?
    - Field, mountains, villages, layout of urban development ???

    Extremely interesting.
If this is what I’m thinking about, then ...
GOOD LUCK TO A GOOD START !!!
Guys - come off for us to the fullest!

Hope this is just the beginning.
All shooting ranges and ranges should be re-equipped using modern training aids, especially battalion units.
Along the way, you can study promising controls and combat.

Just the other day, I was talking with a man who visited a German training center. He was told by the German military that the Russian Federation was purchasing more modern equipment than what they used. The entire contracting process is provided by the contractor company (the equipment is very expensive and complicated). The commander’s task is to arrive at the training center, place the medical personnel, transfer the equipment to specialists for installing sensors and other equipment, and then specialists will conduct training as part of units according to the given programs. It’s good when money is spent for business. Excellent technology, I hope we will have this too.

A well trained, trained soldier is WARRIOR, the opposite of him - cannon fodder.
    The choice is obvious!

    "Untrained courage is useless"?
That's for sure... The introduction of modern training complexes is necessary.
But is high training of soldiers and officers without courage and military psychological and physical training useful?
    That is unlikely...
You can not consider military service as an exciting high-tech sport.
War is hard, bloody and "inhuman" work.
The work that the military must do in comfortable outfit, and in kirzach and felt boots, and partially not healthy and "disarmed" if such a need arises.
For example, any teacher of fire training (shooting trainer) will confirm how important the psychological stability of the shooter is. Moreover, at least their AK, at least from the tank with the best SLA.
At one time, I had the opportunity to let young gunners shoot blanks before the first "staff" in order to feel what it was, so as not to "wait for a shot".
Already this measure gave a significant positive effect.
In order for the soldier to get confidently out of the AK, he just needs to be allowed to shoot well in the shooting range, "get used to the weapon", and not immediately be dragged to the execution of the UKS.
Various reconciliations when shooting from these weapons are secondary, a good, self-confident shooter at ranges up to 200 m on a growth figure gets offhand.
And a soldier must always be able to effectively use weapons. And not "sleepy", and wet from the rain, and hungry, etc.
To achieve this goal, simulators alone are not enough, however perfect they would be.
The current "humanization" of military service by no means contributes to the education of a warrior from a boy, and, in this sense, is not at all humane.
At all times, the poet’s lines will be fair: - If he were a guard tomorrow, captain.

    - That is not necessary; let him serve in the army.

    - Fairly said! let him bother him ...

      good
      Yeah, the namesake.
For such a thing, the charge is not a pity.

This is also necessary, "on foot on the tank" to walk bored - to push the snow apart.
      laughing

But in terms of psychology and, most importantly - STABILITY OF THE SPIRIT, I am definitely and categorically FOR what you say, I am FOR the system that was in the USSR at the KMB, when the "muzzle in the mud" and so every day ... fighter to demand, demand and demand.
So a soldier is tempered and a fighter begins to be born.

Modern high-tech training can be even more inhuman than the kirzachs and felt boots described by you below. Take the same laser shooting simulator. Maybe, of course, for conscripts, this is too inhumane, but where they only pay money and no documents in any pocket, when working out military coordination, the receiver of this simulator itself turns on a stun gun, the contacts of which are brought to your naked body under uniforms and equipment. If you are hit by the enemy's "shot"
, then in the eyes it immediately becomes dark from the wild pain and you wake up already lying face down in the mud. Then their sergeant still communicates with the "dead", which is no better than a stun gun, because. much longer and harder physically, and even accompanied by epithets in different languages, the translation of which is not in any dictionary. It greatly facilitates the assimilation of the material, although I certainly would not wish this to my son.

Good news. Still, put such landfills on stream so that you can export trained specialists. It is high time to understand that to teach is not only one's own strength, but also influence on strangers.

Good news and good comments, a plus for everyone.
It would be nice if they were prepared to act in all kinds of natural conditions - in the rain and in a snowstorm and frost!
It is not necessary, using high-tech developments in weapons and communications, to make incubator chickens out of soldiers.
The United States is going to follow this method now. Like, we will deliver our specialists anywhere on aircraft, and there let them shoot accurately and our victory.
Alas, I was only a signalman, albeit in the North, but I believe that a soldier should be a trained fighter, not a janitor and builder.
It would be nice for the new training centers to apply the shooter training techniques described here:
    http://topwar.ru/33480-sekrety-metkoy-strelby.html#comment-id-1514379 - Секреты меткой стрельбы
And then our soldiers will be, as they used to say, "the devil himself is not a brother"!

I support. BUT ... The balance is important, so that when shooting a stock or at tactical exercises, when a real resource is spent, the warrior is ready to work out the same thing as on simulators in a real situation. The keyword is ready.
The tankers still use a separate barrel firing. Also close to combat shooting, but still it is not a regular shooting. It is important that training on simulators is not a substitute for real exercises and combat shooting, but thoroughly prepared for them. And if you do not pay attention to developing command and control skills in the classes and simulators, practicing combat shooting driving actions, etc., during practical exercises and firing results will be much worse.

I agree with Alekseev, the humanization of service, the thing is ultimately inhuman. Only poking a soldier's face in the mud, the same thing can not be promoted, here we must consider where and what needs to be applied. No need to regret the soldier, he must be protected!
But in general, what is better to command, if you take the ultimate state, brave unskillful, or trained cowards?
And yet, how many I didn’t look for, but nowhere did I find in AV Suvorov, this "... easy in battle." Who invented this? Suvorov began as a private and knew perfectly well that a soldier does not come easily in battle. In his teaching, it is written like this: DIFFICULT IN LEARNING_EASY TO HIKE!

It is necessary in each district, taking into account local conditions to create such centers (four in total), then the brigades will work out tasks once a year (taking into account conscripts). You can go further as part of improving these centers, train each brigade on the computer layout of the area where the brigade should defend and advance according to its purpose in case of military operations, for encryption you can change the names of settlements, rivers, mountains, then in real situation the brigade It will already be better to navigate the terrain, down to every soldier who is first on the computer, and then already really saw landmarks, sectors of fire, etc. For each district, it is possible to develop uniforms and tactics, weapons of a potential enemy (West - NATO, South - Georgia, Turkey, East - China, Center - irregular formations, peacekeeping missions). On the basis of the centers of the Ministry of Defense film studio, using their capabilities, it is possible to organize training films on foreign armies, forms and methods of training in the centers, so that they would be used to prepare units between subdivisions in the centers, they would come there with a theoretical base.
