France has signed a contract for the purchase of 16 "Reaper"France has signed a contract with the Pentagon for the purchase of 16 drones MQ-9 Reaper ("Reaper" - approx. "VP") manufactured by the American company General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, flightglobal.com reports today. The US Department of Defense confirmed the signing of the contract and said that French operators have begun training to operate these devices.

Deliveries will be conducted through the Pentagon’s military sales line and include drones, control stations, equipment for technical support and training. The first two "Reaper" French Air Force will be sent to support operations in Africa.

Today, the Pentagon has sent Congress a notice of a contract worth 1,5 billion.
