Tank biathlon competitions for the first time were held in Alabino near Moscow

Tank biathlon is a type of competition in combat skill. At the training ground in the Moscow region, such competitions were held for the first time. The initiator of the event was the Minister of Defense of Russia Sergey Shoigu. Competitions are timed to the anniversary of the largest in stories wars tank battle on Prokhorovsky field in the Belgorod region, which occurred in 1943 year.

The crews of the armed forces of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Armenia took part in the competition.

After the competition, a representative of the corporation "Uralvagonzavod" Alexey Maslov told the ITAR-TASS news agency that the defense company is ready to provide the Defense Ministry with modern equipment for tank biathlon competitions. Tanks, according to Maslov, will not be inferior in characteristics to foreign models.

According to Valery Vostrotin, a member of the Public Council at the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, tank biathlon competitions are a sport of the highest achievements. “Such competitions raise the level of military training of servicemen,” he noted. "I will recommend the commander of the Airborne Forces to hold similar competitions with paratroopers," added Vostrotin.

lol This method has already been mastered for a long time ... Only from helicopters. So, here we need to come up with something more distant ... Like jumping from a tower onto the PT-76 laughing or BTerax

How strange sounds !? So the T-90 tanks are not the best, so it turns out? Now the best, then not the best, we must decide.

It was recalled that during the Water War, General Tal conducted special courses for Sherman gunners, the result was target defeat at fantastic distances for tanks, about 15 km, interestingly, he also drove crews around the tank, or they sat in classes and studied guidance devices.

Why is it fantastic here? The usual shooting of tanks from a closed firing position. And here, not gunners come to the first place, but those who observe the target, calculate the initial settings for shooting and adjust the fire.

How was it done? Half a day in class, half a day "on record" on equipment, completing one firing mission to consolidate

Yes, in fact, there was no closed firing position as such, then a boom was carried out on moving targets, a tractor, t-34-85, su-100

“Such competitions increase the level of combat training of military personnel,” he said. “I will recommend the commander of the Airborne Forces to conduct similar competitions with paratroopers,” Vostrotin added.

The level of combat training is enhanced by combat training, rather than pseudo-competition in ridiculously painted tanks. It would be better if more money was allocated to the troops for firing and combat coordination.

I do not agree, sports training has always been on par with military, it was not in vain that in the Soviet years everyone passed the TRP standards as military standards! I believe that introducing such diversity into military training on military equipment will increase the interest of military personnel in such events, and when a person does something with desire and not under duress, the results are many times better! It would be necessary to come up with skeet competitions in the air defense forces, and for air pilots to compete in air paintball :)

According to the results of the first day of the competition, the tank platoon of the Western Military District under the command of Lieutenant Rinat Khadiev won the first place - his unit became the best in the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Russia. The result of the team is 2 hours 10 minutes and 37 seconds.

The second place in the team standings with a result of 2 hours 24 minutes 56 seconds was taken by the tankers of the Southern Military District. In third place is a tank platoon of the Central Military District with a result of 2 hours 29 minutes 46 seconds. The fourth place was occupied by servicemen of the Eastern Military District, their crews were able to overcome all obstacles in 2 hours 46 minutes and 11 seconds.

The leadership of the Russian Ministry of Defense is not fully satisfied with the actions of the crews of military districts who took part in the tank biathlon at a military training ground in Alabino, Moscow Region, said Army First Deputy Minister of Defense Arkady Bakhin.

“Unfortunately, we can note the shortcomings in the crews that the military districts have presented to us,” he said, ITAR-TASS reports.

“Not everyone from the first shot hit. There are competitors who had several misses, ”the general said.

To the question "Why" - now many are cheered up.

Faster, more precise, more harmonious! I personally welcome the initiative of the Minister of Defense to introduce such competitions! Under the mask of gaiety and a seemingly "Civilian vector of entertainment" there is a very real military goal! A well-coordinated, well-honed crew that can move quickly, maneuver and fire is much more combat-ready! such a competition will not interfere!

IRONIC STATEMENTS BY SOME COMPARATORS I DO NOT CONSIDER.

"Next year, when holding tank biathlon competitions, we want to expand the list of participants, not limited to the CIS countries. Russian Defense Minister Army General Sergei Shoigu has invited colleagues from Italy and Germany to take part in this event."

The composition of the countries participating in tank biathlon competitions next year may go beyond the CIS, replenished with crews from Germany and Italy, Deputy Defense Minister of the Russian Federation Yuri Borisov told reporters.

Borisov praised the practical benefits of these competitions, noting that in addition to raising the level of training of tankers, such events allow us to clearly demonstrate to our foreign colleagues the advantages of Russian armored vehicles.

"There will be an opportunity to hold real competitions between a wheeled and a tracked tank," said the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, recalling that since last year, Italian Centauro wheeled tanks have been tested in Russia.
      Source http://ria.ru/

Such a competition allows the crews to develop all the basic basic skills, moreover, in a complex and in the form of competitions, which also positively affects the results.
      BUST:
The US military accepted Sergey Shoigu's invitation and agreed to participate in tank biathlon competitions. The Minister of Defense of Russia spoke about this with undisguised pleasure.
There is another interesting circumstance in the participation of our Western, so to speak, “partners”. The event will certainly be covered by Western media. And here the inhabitants from NATO countries, confident in the invincibility of their military, may expect a surprise. In this contest, everything is decided not at all by the “technical steepness” of combat vehicles and not by belonging to the “correct world values” of their crews. In a tank biathlon, victory depends on the skills and experience of the crews. Apparently, therefore, talking about the consent of the Americans, Sergei Kuzhugetovich could not help smiling, and even allowed himself to joke:
“... Representatives of these countries will train while on their tanks. In the future we will do our best for foreign armies to acquire our tanks. ”

No matter how you say it, but this is another step towards at least some increase in the combat readiness of tank units. There will be such craftsmen - it means that they will also teach young people to someone. Only this requires reasonable funding and the conduct of combat driving and live firing so that a soldier or a young officer is not afraid of his weapons and equipment, but skillfully owns it. Whatever you call it - biathlon, triathlon - it's better than sitting in classes ...

For competitions at the state level, it’s normal. But for their own, within the country it is necessary to tighten the selection rules. Well, this is a no brainer if the district has presented three tanks, who is sitting in them and even roughly the result. That’s if the opponent chooses from any tank company ( what is the correct name, I'm a sailor) the smallest unit of the three tanks. Then it seems to me that there will be both benefit and all kinds of forgeries are excluded.

The Kazakhstan crew took 2nd place at the 1st international tank biathlon tournament. Only 52 seconds behind the Russians

After a recent victory at representative international competitions of sniper couples in Belarus and intelligence groups in Kazakhstan, our servicemen took another height - this time in Russia.
The first international competition Tank Biathlon was held near Moscow in the village of Alabino.
Competitions were held on new T-72B tanks. During the competition, the crews had to go a distance of 20 kilometers. The result, as in the Olympic biathlon, was the sum of the time passed and the goals hit.
The first place was taken by the Russian tank crew with a result of 26 minutes. The second place with a lag of 52 seconds was taken by the crew from Kazakhstan. However, this second place can rightfully be considered a deserved victory. The fact is that during the competition the commander of our crew was injured and had to be replaced by an understudy. The third and fourth places were taken by the crews of Belarus and Armenia.
According to the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Major General Amir Khalikov, the Kazakhstani tank crew completed the task perfectly.
"During the preparation in Kazakhstan, we held a championship for the best crew. This is the first international competition of this kind, but we were fully ready to take part in them and win," he said.
The deputy commander-in-chief noted that the Russian colleagues highly appreciated the level of training of Kazakhstani colleagues, for which they received medals "For Strengthening the Combat Commonwealth" from the hands of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
Success to Kazakhstan was ensured by crew commanders senior lieutenant Janat Kuanyshev and sergeant Miras Nurko, gunner senior sergeant Kalioldin Aydin, and driver-mechanic Corporal Tusupov Maksat.
