Greek Catholics: Cossack family or Janissaries?
Falling away from the Orthodox faith in Chervona (Galician) Russia took place long before the Union of Brest, from the middle of the XIV century, when the land came under the rule of Hungarian and then Polish kings first. But it became especially large after the Gorodelsky Seym 1413, which connected Poland and Lithuania, when the Orthodox Ruthenians were forbidden to engage in trade and trade, were in government and elected posts, and were only allowed to be built in designated places - in fact, in the ghetto. The nobility and wealthy people "by thousands converted to Catholicism ...". It was such a bitter time for Russian Orthodoxy, which it had not experienced before or after the 17th century. In fact, even then the mass of the people lost their defenders from the upper class, which facilitated the victory of the union in this part of Russia. It is indicative of what happened at the same time as the Hussite wars in the Czech Republic, where all sections of the population rebelled against the violence of Catholicism.Created as a political association, the Uniate Church from the very first steps found itself in the position of an inferior subject: in the Vatican it was considered a temporary project, a kind of purgatory for the Orthodox before their conversion to Catholicism. Independently, it was undesirable: a single Russian nation, a close connection with Orthodoxy through rites and shrines could, on occasion, turn everything back, which often happened during its existence. The transition to Catholicism meant an unconditional separation from the roots.
Union did not equate the Rusyns in their rights with the Poles, neither the laity nor the clergy. Polish priests and pans from the very beginning showed neglect to her. "The rites of the Uniate church are worthy of laughter, its teaching is worse than the Turkish, Jewish faith ... None of its followers can be saved." Not without gross insults. “Uniate pop is the same clap ... Your church singing is a howl of dogs ... Every Rusin is a dog, their faith is dog faith.”
Bearing humiliation, bending more and more, Galicia was comforted by the hope that the union would not be forever, that her father’s faith would return. Over the years I got used to it, how oxen get used to a yoke, and found that it turns into a land without clan or tribe. Twice in the seventeenth century. Bogdan Khmelnitsky besieged Lviv, and both times there were no brave men to help the Cossacks enter the city and get even with the Poles for violence. On the other hand, the Janissaries were fruitful, ready to take out their inferiority on Orthodox brothers who are steadfast in the faith.

Evil faith, like evil propaganda, makes people who have no spiritual core evil. Over such time is not powerful, and the process of reclaiming them does not affect. Having recovered from sleep in the nineteenth century, Galicia turned, nevertheless, to the Orthodox-Russian revival, to spirituality. Quite a few famous clerics saw the sight, became staunch supporters of Orthodoxy: “... we are deceived in everything, are deprived of hope for the improvement of the unfortunate fate of our church and people. Therefore, we really have no choice but to decisively declare that we must conscientiously unite with the church from which our fathers came out through unia ... As children of our people, we want to live and die for the cause of this association. And when it happens, there will be nothing to think about the spread of the union, which was an example of the enslavement and oppression of Eastern peoples, ”said priest I. Naumovich in 1883 (the cry of the soul did not remain unheard: in 1891, the“ apostate ”was poisoned. ) Seminarians and monks especially "sinned with favor" towards Orthodoxy, which forced the authorities to close the Uniate Central Seminary in Vienna, and the Basilian monasteries to hand over to the Jesuits.
In Orthodoxy returned whole villages. And again, like 250 years ago in Poland, the Vatican and the authorities applied a clever trick - to split the people, now on a national basis, to incite the Ruthenians on others. And again, successful! Wishing to be deserved it did not decrease.
“Ukrainians are only a tool in the hands of Providence, in order to wrest the Christian East from the ticks of heresy (Orthodoxy), in order to lead it into the bosom of the Apostolic throne and the European community,” the Uniate Metropolitan Sheptytsky - “Ukrainian Moses”, “Batko Ukraїnsko natszy” stated without a doubt ". (Are there many “fathers” in Ukrainians who needed the project “Ukraine” only to kill the Russian soul among the people and make Russia an enemy?) And how many were the friendly "moses" who were dragging Ukraine to Poland, Turkey, Sweden, Germany, anywhere, just to "get out of Moscow!" - do not count as now the homeless dogs are not sterilized.
On the eve and with Pachal of World War I, violence once again hit the Orthodox. According to denunciations and with the active participation of Uniate activists, about 60 thousand people lost their lives, and thousands left Galicia before 100 thousand. It can be said that a local genocide was committed, as a result of which the color of the Galician-Russian intelligentsia was virtually destroyed. With special maniacal thoroughness, the Uniate Church uprooted Russophilism in its midst; more than 300 priests gave up for slaughter for sympathy for Orthodoxy. Despised by the Catholics, she nevertheless struggled to demonstrate loyalty to the Vatican, at the same time paving the way for Galicia to nationalism. It is not surprising that the OUN easily found a common language with the church. She simply adopted the principle of the Uniates: “For the sake of success, the most shameful act is moral” (compare with the principle of the Vatican: “For the glory of God, you can do everything!”). And they did. There was no precedent in stories of this “sweet couple,” for moral reasons, one or the other refused the temptation to seize, rise, or distort or falsify the facts.
Uniate priests were present in all units of the OUN, including the SS division "Galicia". In the best traditions of the union, "spiritually nourishing" and blessing the "warriors" to accomplishments in the name of God. The accomplishments were, for the most part, the killing of civilians - Ukrainians, Poles, Russians, Jews. In the same tradition, they were remitted from sin in advance. At least, the condemnation of the atrocities of the OUN-UPA neither by the church, nor by its head, Metropolitan Sheptytsky, has been documented. But there are many examples of how the German army tirelessly blessed the German army, praying to God for sending it victory; calls for the population to be submissive to the new government and work for its benefit. (At the end of his life, after the liberation of Galicia, Sheptytsky began to sympathize with Orthodoxy noticeably. Perhaps, the spirit of Rusyns ancestors awoke, or perhaps the typical double-minded Uniate).

It is regrettable that few Greek Catholics, who are proud of their proximity to the Vatican, know what cruelties were driving their forefathers to the union, and how many of them preferred martyrdom to renunciation of the faith of their fathers. “We sow Orthodox Christians without a shame, ruby їm heads ... Has anyone counted the number of victims of the Uniate Church? Until now, neither she nor the Vatican repented for crimes in Ukraine, Belarus.
Galicia, perhaps more than any other region that honors Cossack dob, should remember how fiercely did the Cossacks of Union and Uniates, who "stand with a knife," hate it. And precisely because of the religious violence, Ukraine was “overwhelmed” by Cossack wars and a popular uprising:

Galicia, at that time, I remind you, it crawled and gave birth to the Janissaries. Therefore, we can rightfully say: this region is not of the Cossack type, this is not the Ukrainian anthem about it! (“... i will show, sht, brother, Kozat family ...”?).
Conceived in lies, union gave nothing but fratricidal wars, separation of people, bitterness and violence. She tore the Uniates from the national root, from great ancestors, heroes. The worthy son of Ukraine, Bogdan Khmelnitsky, is slung behind the traitor Mazepa; ibid the legendary Getman Sahaidachny, defender of Orthodoxy, Metropolitan P. Grave.

Which of the Orthodox patriarchs had such harems like the popes? Who of our saints burned innocent people on the fires? Who of them tortured Catholics to convert to Orthodoxy? Which of the Orthodox burned Catholic churches, trampled on Catholic statues and icons?
Didn't the popes call for: "Let the one who keeps his sword from the blood of the schismatics be cursed?" A fascist devotee, Pius XII, who received the nickname “Hitler's Pope”, “Hitler's Dog” in Europe, blessed the Nazis on the Eastern campaign and refused to condemn the Holocaust.
It is unlikely that all of them are Uniates. Many do not know the Bible, are not inclined to read and do not read serious works, limited to brochures about miracles and miraculous healings. Traditionally, the rule of Jesuits live: "It is necessary ... so that the cotton children get used to the plow, to the pile, to the chains, and not to the book ... The best way to keep them in the dark is misery." Such parishioners are a godsend for the Uniate clergy, pharisaic about piety, mercy and love of neighbor and at the same time spreading intolerance.

Drifting the inescapable pride of the Roman bishops, he raised an empire of spiritual evil and debauchery, where power and gold became sacred objects and where the principle reigns: "You can live without God, without the Pope - it is impossible!". “Only one God is like the Pope; The pope commands heavenly and earthly things, ”says the dogma of the infallibility of the popes. Notice, not the Pope is like God (although this is already blasphemy), but God is just like the Pope. This is the real, blatant essence of the papacy, the alpha and omega of its mayhem.
Raking up the crimes of the Vatican, one may doubt that God is love. Crusades to Jerusalem resulted in the holy land of mass looting and killing of residents, regardless of their religion. Along the way, the “holy army” plundered Constantinople, the hated rival of Rome — blessing, all the sins of the crusaders were released in advance. “Missionary” activity in South America led to the destruction of a whole civilization, and in North America and Australia - to the genocide of the local population. Intolerance for dissent has reached mania.
Did the apostles of Christ do that? The apostles of the popes did this with great diligence, killing no less than 5 million people’s lives for the sake of "saving their souls." Thereby eclipsed the atrocities of the Roman pagan emperors against the first Christians.
