Oceanic recognition for Georgia, or how Ivanishvili calls on the West to help in dialogue with Russia

44
Not long ago, Georgian Prime Minister Ivanishvili, who recently announced that he would leave after the election of a new president, began to spread again about how to solve the so-called South Caucasus issue. Under the South Caucasus issue, Mr. Ivanishvili understands how Tbilisi pushes South Ossetia and Abkhazia under itself, which since 2008 has had the status of partially recognized independent states.

Oceanic recognition for Georgia, or how Ivanishvili calls on the West to help in dialogue with Russia

Speaking at an international forum called “The European Way of Georgia”, Bidzina Ivanishvili once again reminded his colleagues from the European Union that Georgia’s accession to the EU, as well as the policy of joining NATO, are the primary foreign policy objectives of the Georgian leadership. At the same time, Ivanishvili understands perfectly well that neither the European Union nor NATO are ready to take the state under their wing, due to the policies of other Georgian authorities (led by Mikhail Saakashvili) who have fallen into a situation in which a substantial percentage of the territories de facto submission of Tbilisi.

Understanding such a scrupulous situation pushes Ivanishvili to unique proposals, which he clearly does not ambiguously send to Brussels and Washington. These proposals are that Georgia will receive support from partners during its dialogue with Russia. If you call a spade a spade, the Georgian prime minister proposes to keep Washington and Brussels behind him at the moment when he will negotiate with Russia on the solution of the mentioned South Caucasus issue. All in the spirit of domestic squabbles, when a puny teenager calls on a muscular guy from a neighboring yard to stand side by side when he tries to sort things out ... They say that in the case of Russia’s intractability, Georgia has a special argument ...

Such a proposal by Bidzina Ivanishvili to the Western sponsors of Georgian democracy once again proves that a one-on-one conversation (a frank conversation) between Tbilisi and Moscow does not work at all. As soon as at least some progress begins to appear, the Georgian side immediately tries to invite someone (known to whom) from the outside, so that he, so to speak, testifies to the aspirations of the Georgian leadership. Apparently, this disease in the form of some microspores flies in the offices of representatives of the Georgian authorities and is transmitted from one high-level official to another. Ivanishvili was also infected ...

What prevents the Georgian prime minister to continue the movement towards Russia? Certainly not a personal relationship to the country that turned him into a billionaire ... The fact is that Ivanishvili, like Saakashvili, is too openly dependent at this historical stage. It depends not so much on the mood of the Georgian people, but on the “covenants” that its current overseas friends told Georgia to live on. We note that Ivanishvili, in his speech at the forum, initially announced that the course towards European integration and NATO membership for Georgia remains unchanged, and then hinted to the West that he should "assist" the conduct of the negotiation process with the Russian Federation. The words about the indispensable and indestructible desire to join the North Atlantic Alliance and the EU (even if there is clearly not enthusiastic about such entry today) are a kind of allegorical expression that the “covenants” are fulfilled. This is a code word that allows the West to determine the political vector of the Georgian leadership at the level of "one's own" or "of someone else's."

In the meantime, the Georgian prime minister was considering options for how to continue his dialogue with Russia, one small and extremely inconsistent state again decided to join the “democratic cohort”, so as not to anger Big Brother with its diplomatic forties. We are talking about a state like Vanuatu, which recognized independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia a little more than two years ago, then did not confirm this information at the official level for a long time, and now decided to play back completely, saying that it restores diplomatic relations with Georgia and recognizes its territorial integrity is within the boundaries of 2008 of the year (before the separation of Abkhazia and South Ossetia). Documents on the resumption of diplomatic relations between Georgia and the island state of Vanuatu, which are not remarkable for anything other than the constant change of positions on Georgia, were signed in New York by the permanent representatives to the UN Donald Kalpokas and Vakhtang Makharoblishvili.

In connection with the incident, the Georgian Foreign Ministry expresses the hope that other countries will follow the example of Vanuatu, refusing to recognize the "separatist regions of Georgia" as independent states.

It is worth recalling that by today the independence of the two South Caucasian republics is recognized by the 5 states of the world (Russia, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Nauru and Tuvalu). Now, obviously, we should expect a truly breakthrough development of relations between Georgia and Vanuatu. Georgian wines along with Borjomi will flow to the "endless" Vanuatskian markets, where they are expected very much, and the citizens of Georgia will have a unique opportunity to relax in the resorts of the Vanuatskiy Territory, if, of course, they have enough for a ticket to Oceania and back ... , as part of the manifestation of an unexpectedly played friendship between nations ...

In general, Vanuatu was blown away ... Still: walking in vassals of Great Britain and France right up to 1980 of the year - up to a year in which Bidzina Ivanishvili and Mikhail Saakashvili still ate the "hated" Soviet donuts and drank them in with the "hated" Soviet lemonade. Apparently, the former (and in fact, apparently, the present too) the hosts of Vanuatu reminded the local authorities not to flirt too much with their own independence ... Well, now it’s time for Nauru and Tuvalu ... Considering that the head of Tuvalu is de jure British the queen, then it is not necessary to expect firmness of positions from the local governor-general there.

And by and large, those games that the dwarfs of Oceania decided to play can comfort only the Georgian authorities, who have already believed in their diplomatic success. But against the background of this “success”, the position of Russia emerges, which in South Ossetia and Abkhazia remains adamant. It is this position that the Georgian leadership takes together on the nose. The clicks are painful, and therefore Ivanishvili is looking for a healing potion from the West. But it is the position of the West, which follows from the documents recently published in Georgia itself, which supported Saakashvili’s adventure, and led Georgia to the state in which it resides today. So, asking for help from someone who actually crushed Georgia is at least strange. But after all, endless strangeness is the normal state of the representatives of the Georgian authorities ...

Well, Vanuatu refused to recognize and do not care about them. The main message: South Ossetia and Abkhazia in the near future (2-3 generations) will not be part of Georgia.

"all the Georgian leadership taken together is clicking on the nose"

What happened in August 2008 seems to be a knockout blow to the jaw, but certainly not a click on the nose.

Well, the success of Georgian diplomacy seems to me as dubious as the "increase in military power" of the Baltic Sprat powers.

Moscow. July 15. INTERFAX.RU - Head of Rospotrebnadzor, chief state sanitary doctor of the Russian Federation Gennady Onishchenko is convinced that African swine fever, which caused cattle mortality in Russian regions, came to Russia from Georgia.
"This is an objectively established fact," Onishchenko told Interfax on Monday.
Onishchenko said that Russia had opened a market for Georgian alcohol, but the U.S. Navy's microbiological laboratory beyond the control of the Georgian authorities continued to operate in Georgia.
"We are forced to spend money in order to provide assistance to allies - South Ossetia and Abkhazia, in order to strengthen their healthcare capabilities for real threats to biological security," Onishchenko said.
According to him, last year Russia allocated 15 million rubles to purchase equipment for South Ossetia and Abkhazia in order to stop the threat posed by the microbiological laboratory in Georgia. Onishchenko said that the same amount is planned to buy equipment for Abkhazia and South Ossetia this year.
"A weighty confirmation of the threat is that the pathogen of African swine fever has been actively circulating in Russia since 2007. Great economic damage has been inflicted on the southern regions of Russia," said the head of Rospotrebnadzor.
Onishchenko said that $ 350 million was spent on the creation of a laboratory in Georgia. "The concern is that this laboratory is not under the control of the Georgian authorities. The laboratory was created on a former Soviet military base near Tbilisi. The existence of such a laboratory speaks of the weakness of the current Georgian government," said the head of Rospotrebnadzor.

... The Nazis liked to talk about “blond beasts,” although they knew little about them. For example, in some groups of Australian Aborigines, children are completely blond. Later they darken, but here, for example, in neighboring Oceania - on the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu, many adults are blond.

Do you know that in Melanesia there is a “cult of cargo"? The islanders believe that ancestors bring food to white people on planes. They build copies of airfields and pray in the hope that the ancestors will bring food on planes and to them. The “cult of cargo” is still popular in Vanuatu ...

Why confuse the warm with the soft - what is allowed to Jupiter is not allowed to the bull, or do you think that the weight and capabilities of Russia and Georgia are comparable? Russia is a subject of world politics and Georgia is an object, whether you like it or not, it was and is. If Georgia believes that it can be an outpost of one entity being side by side with another with bad relations between them, then Georgia dooms itself to the fate of the territory of eternal confrontation and coups with all the ensuing. It's not about love and hate; it's about prudence and practical gain

I posted this comment under the article "Mr. Obama, you shouldn't call President Putin!", I think it will be appropriate here too:
Not so long ago, just that last fall in Russia a certain Patrick Downey asked for political asylum. Former U.S. Army Marine Downey worked as an employee of the U.S. Embassy, but says he was disappointed in the civil service, after which he got a job as a private teacher of English to the Georgian oligarch Bidzina Ivanishvili and went to live in Tbilisi. It was then that documents fell into the hands of Downey, which laid the foundation for big problems in the life of an American.

The papers confirmed funding by the states of anti-Russian activity of Ivanishvili. A document dated 2007 indicated that the World Bank for Reconstruction and Development, of which the United States owns 60 percent, transferred $ 12 million to the bank of Ivanishvili. The purpose of the transfer: to develop the structure. A year later, in August 2008, Georgia sent troops to South Ossetia and, according to Downey, again, not without the participation of American capital - including the money that was transferred to the bank of Ivanishvili. (Ivanishvili interesting bird do not find dear? winked )
Downey, returning to the United States, decided to make public the information that he became aware of, but faced with powerful opposition. The press flatly refused to publish sensational materials. As a result, the government became aware of the former marine, he received the nickname Trouble Man (man-problem) and the close attention of the American intelligence services, which, according to Downey, tried to neutralize him.

“I began to feel that it was simply dangerous for me to be in the USA,” says Downey. - All the documents that I posted on the Network were deleted, the videos on YouTube were blocked and they began to threaten me. Threats also came from the Georgian side, which demanded to shut up.

The "problem man" tried to obtain political asylum in Ireland, but the country's authorities reacted aggressively to Downey's presence on their territory, and the American went to jail, after which he was expelled from the state. In New York, Patrick left a family - parents and a sister, expecting a child. In a foreign country, which Downey asks to be allowed to call home, they have not yet responded to requests. On September 21, the American applied to the Immigration Service for political asylum. Despite the fact that Russia has not yet agreed to provide assistance, Downey says he feels support without official documents with round stamps. With the help of Russians, the text of an appeal to President Vladimir Putin was actively disseminated on the Internet: "Patrick has lost the support and protection of the US foreign policy services in third countries, all appeals to these bodies about the violation of his civil rights and freedoms have been left unanswered. The United States of America was left unprotected. own citizen who disagrees with US policy, "the appeal says. - Downey applied to the Moscow Migration Office for political asylum. I ask you to pay attention to the fate of Patrick Downey and to assist in the consideration of his application as soon as possible "....
Yesterday I spent an hour trying to get at least some information about the future fate of the American, but I did not find anything. Generally. The man seemed to be gone. Or he was quietly discreetly striped or he lives in Russia and everything is fine with him. Although the third option is not excluded ... In any case, the Internet has been cleaned. IMHO.

In Vanuatu, Georgian wines and mineral water, and from there weapons to restore military potential (spears, batons, etc.). It is unlikely that someday South Ossetia will become part of Georgia. They still remember not only the events of 2008, but also the events of the Civil War when the Ossetians were literally massacred by the Georgian military, freeing the lands for Georgians. And only the Red Army put an end to this lawlessness. Traces of the Georgian occupation are still fresh in Abkhazia. So it is unlikely that Georgia "shines" to be a member of NATO and the EU. And it makes no sense for us to have a neighbor nearby who is a member of an aggressive military bloc. Ivanishvili promised a lot to the Georgians (he rolled his lip too much), but he just doesn't know how to do it, he asks for a big uncle (Georgia is also Georgia ...)

The stupidity of the Georgian leadership is sometimes simply astounding - it feels as if they were all chewing on American-made ties.
They prefer to quarrel with RUSSIA, which is at their side, and they hope for the help of the WEST who, by and large, do not give a damn about them.
