Abu Qatada deported to Jordan. As transmits "BBC", radical Islamic preacher Abu Qatada deported from the UK and taken to Jordan. A chartered private plane with Abu Qatadah on board yesterday flew to Amman from the Northolt Air Force Base west of London in 02: 46 local time.
A jeep escorted by 12 vehicles delivered the 53-year-old cleric to the cordoned off state security court building. There, he was charged with criminal conspiracy to organize explosions in places visited by American and Israeli tourists. The charges relate to 1999-2000's.
Then Katadu was taken to Muwakkar prison in the desert, where he will await trial.
As recalled by the BBC, the British authorities considered the preacher a threat to national security and sought his deportation for almost 10 years. However, Abu Qatada (his real name is Omar Othman) successfully challenged expulsion decisions. One of his main arguments was that evidence obtained under torture could be used against him. The lawsuit ended, the BBC notes, when an agreement was signed between Great Britain and Jordan guaranteeing that no such evidence would be presented.
Judicial costs associated with the deportation of the Islamist, cost the British treasury in 1,7 million pounds.
Turkish democracy in action: thirteen wounded journalists. On Saturday last week in Istanbul, thirteen Turkish journalists suffered during the dispersal of demonstrators in Taksim Square. In total, more than 80 citizens were detained during the demonstration. The trade union association "Syndicate of Journalists of Turkey" condemned the actions of the police, they report "Vesti" with reference to ITAR-TASS.
Many journalists come to cover meetings with gas masks. They put them on when the police start throwing gas pieces at the crowd. For the police, a man in a gas mask is a potential threat.

Activists are demanding the return of Mursi to power.
At the same time, thousands of opponents of Mursi were being pushed onto Tahrir Square. In their slogans, they say they want to defend the revolution.
As the correspondent ITAR-TASS Victoria Eryomina, mass demonstrations on the night of July 8 in the resort cities of Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh were held far from the hotels. Tourists are safe. This was reported by the press secretary of "Rostourism" Irina Shchegolkova.
"According to our representative, who is now in Egypt, peaceful demonstrations took place far from the hotels, the tourists did not feel any inconvenience due to them," she said.
Islamist trail. Egyptian prosecutors have issued arrest warrants for over 200 Syrian opposition activists. They are accused of provoking riots. According to the publication "Al-Masri al-Yaum", all of them are associated with the Egyptian "Muslim Brotherhood" and were hired by them to attack demonstrators protesting against Mursi in the city squares, reports ITAR-TASS.
As noted by Al-Masri al-Yaum, supporters of the Syrian National Council and the National Coalition of opposition and revolutionary forces in some cases used weapons against peaceful protesters. The investigation found that in Cairo, they killed eight people.
Earlier it was reported about the detention of the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood, including its chief financier Heirath ash-Shater. The functionaries of the Freedom and Justice Party (the political wing of the Brothers), led by Saad al-Katatni, have been placed in custody. They are accused of "inciting the killing of demonstrators and encroachment on public safety."
The deposed President Mursi is in custody at the headquarters of the Republican Guard. It is reported that supporters of the "Brothers" after the rally attacked the barracks. One officer died; no less than 40 military personnel was injured. In the ranks of the Islamists, there are also dead and wounded.
Industrial Zone Kaesong: the two Koreas agreed. Delegations from South Korea and the DPRK agreed on the conditions for the normalization of the joint Kaeson industrial zone, journalists were told at the South Korean Ministry of Unification, reports Interfax.
Following the sixteen hours of negotiations, the parties agreed that on Wednesday the DPRK would allow South Korean companies, accompanied by experts, to inspect their facilities in Caesong. On the same day, representatives of the North and the South will begin negotiations.
As Interfax reminds, the Kaeson zone is an administrative region in the DPRK, which is separated from the Kaeson city in 2002 and is located near the demilitarized zone. There are about 120 South Korean businesses. Work in this border area has been suspended since April, when the DPRK withdrew almost 53 thousands of North Korean workers from Kaesong. Kaeson is an important source of cash receipts in the DPRK.
A few more years, and the yuan will become the world's reserve currency. This was told by Sergey Smirnov (Vedomosti.ru), referring to the material "Financial Times".
"FT" refers to the materials of the March conference of the Chinese Central Bank and the IMF. Their texts became available only now. The head of the Chinese State Administration of Foreign Exchange Operations (SAFE), the architect of exchange rate reform, Guan Tao, said: "China has the ability to ensure the basic or partial convertibility of the yuan in a few years." It will take a “fundamental” weakening of the Central Bank's exchange rate restrictions, after which the transition to convertibility of the currency and the status of the yuan as a key currency will take a couple of years.
Chairman of the Central Bank of China Zhou Xiaochuan said: "The will and perseverance of China in achieving this goal are beyond doubt."
Bundesbank does not doubt the prospects of the yuan as a global reserve currency. Joachim Nagel, a member of the board of the German central bank, said: “Although now the international use of Chinese currency does not reflect the economic power of the PRC, given the constant expansion of its convertibility, it has the potential to become one of the global reserve currencies in the future.”
House arrest is not an option for China. Former Chinese Minister of Railways Liu Zhijun was sentenced today by a Beijing court for bribery and abuse of office to the death penalty. Execution of the sentence is delayed for two years, reports correspondent RIA Novosti Oleg Ostroukhov with reference to Xinhua.
Mr. Zhijun, whose death sentence in accordance with Chinese legal practice can be replaced with life imprisonment (in the case of exemplary behavior for two years), is deprived of political rights for life, and all his property is now subject to confiscation.
As the court found, this person, actively using his official position in 1986-2011, received for assisting 11 people in obtaining lucrative contracts and assistance in promoting bribes in the amount of 64,6 million yuan (over $ 10 million).
In a democratic Russia, let us add, this enterprising citizen would have had some stern reprimand, accompanied by house arrest during the investigation. At worst, a ten millionth thief would be fired and moved to London for permanent residence.
American warplanes for the Venezuelan opposition. Five of the 18 combat aircraft, allegedly bought by the Venezuelan opposition in the United States, were delivered to Colombia and stationed at Air Force bases. This was stated yesterday in his TV program by the former vice-president and former defense minister of Venezuela, and now TV host Jose Vicente Rangel, reports correspondent RIA "News" Dmitry Znamensky.
“Everything suggests that under the jurisdiction of (base) Caricom-3, which covers the Caribbean coast of Colombia, which borders Venezuela in the east, are aircraft that can be used for military operations,” said Comrade Rangel on Telesur ".
This information, he said, was received by the Venezuelan government thanks to intelligence information that President Maduro plans to discuss with his Colombian counterpart Juan Manuel Santos.
Rangel made the first accusations against the opposition in early June. Planes can allegedly be used in the event of aggression against Venezuela.
As for the Venezuelan opposition leader, Enrique Capriles, he refuted such accusations, calling them a joke.
In Athens, attacked the mayor. A group of demonstrators protesting against mass layoffs of workers in the public sector, yesterday attacked the mayor of Athens, Georgios Kaminis, reports ITAR-TASS.
As the mayor’s press service reported, after he left the building, they attacked him. It is assumed that the attackers are union members who are dissatisfied with the new plans of the government.
According to local media, the mayor did not receive serious injuries.
Breivik's Latvian follower is caught. Employees of the Riga Regional Police Department detained an 31-year-old woman who threatened to set up a bloodbath in Latvia. Reports about it "Lenta.ru" with reference to "DELFI".
Banshchitsa posted threats on Facebook. She claimed that she was preparing "slaughter similar to those that took place in Norway and the United States."
The police are investigating.
In Estonia, they know: the SS defeated Stalin and Hitler. As transmits "Lenta.ru", Estonian Defense Minister Urmas Reinsalu sent a welcoming message to the participants of the 21 th rally of the “Union of Fighters for the Liberation of Estonia” (the annual meeting of the veterans of the 20 th SS Grenadier Division).
Mr Reinsalu welcomed those who fought against the occupation of Estonia by the “totalitarian regimes of the communist Soviet Union and national socialist Germany”, and noted that in 2012, the country's parliament thanked the citizens who fought against the USSR and Germany “in the name of restoring the Estonian Republic”.
It’s hard to say, we’ll add from ourselves to which historical the moment, the valiant Estonian SS men, whose division was defeated in the 45th, contrived to raise weapons against "National Socialist Germany." The Minister of Defense, of course, knows better. Another year he will serve in his high post - and declare that it was the Estonian SS men who liberated the suburbs of Washington from the Red Army occupiers.
In Kazakhstan, a new scientific discipline may appear - “Nazarbaev Studies”. A proposal to develop a Nazarbayev study course, as the newspaper “South Kazakhstan” writes, was made by the candidate of economic sciences, professor Nurali Utkelbayev. Told about it "Lenta.ru".
The professor noted that the works of the President of the country - reports, messages to the people, articles, books - comprise about a hundred volumes. According to Utkelbaeva, the study of these works is not systematic. In this connection, a special course is needed.
Mr. Utkelbaev made a rough topic of the course and appealed to the Ministry of Education and Science. There, his initiative was allegedly supported.
As Lenta reminds, in 2011, a monument was erected to Nazarbayev in Almaty. Before that, a proposal was made to create a cave portrait of the president in the Karaganda region. In addition, a group of public figures proposed to rename Astana to Nursultan.
On the coast of the Crimea found a Soviet submarine. Ukrainian researchers found a Soviet submarine near the Crimea, which sank during the Great Patriotic War. It is reported by the ARC Committee for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, reports "Lenta.ru".
The boat was noticed on the tests of the Sophokl-1 underwater vehicle at Cape Tarkhankut. The submarine lies at 52-meter depth. This is a submarine U-216 (type "Pike"), which disappeared in February-March 1944.
It clarifies the "15 minutes", the ship found the staff of the Black Sea Center for Underwater Research. Center director Sergei Voronov told the publication that the submarine sank with minor injuries. “Water penetrated only one compartment, the other six are intact. This is clear from the way the boat is at the bottom. It did not grow into the ground, but practically lies on the ground, that is, there is no water inside, ”he said, adding that the center staff was preparing documents for raising the submarine.
The crew of the submarine consisted of a 47 man. As expected, work on the rise will begin this summer.
How Americans "sleep" with the Germans. The NSA of the USA actively cooperates with special services from European countries, collecting confidential data about people interested in it, Edward Snowden said in an interview with Der Spiegel. In particular, such cooperation is carried out between the United States and Germany. "We can say that they (NSA staff) are sleeping in the same bed with their German colleagues," - quotes him Interfax.
The work of the NSA in Europe, comrade Snowden noted, is structured so that the political leaders of European countries in the event of a scandal can dissociate themselves from the work of their own special services.
The former CIA officer assured that not only European special services, but also telecommunications companies are working with the NSA. Used correspondence by e-mail or records in social networks.
What will Europe answer? Natalia Kovalenko ("Voice of Russia") brings a message to Jose Manuel Barroso that special working groups will impede the espionage activities of the US special services in the EU. One will deal with data protection and intelligence issues, the other with the protection of human rights.
On Thursday, at a plenary session, MEPs condemned the activities of the US intelligence services, which monitored the representations of EU member states. Rome, Paris, Berlin, Athens, Vilnius and others demanded clarification from Washington. European Commissioner for Internal Affairs Cecilia Malmström threatened to stop data exchanges between EU and US intelligence agencies.
There were also proposals to stop negotiations on the creation of a transatlantic free trade zone, but the deputies rejected them. Economic benefits should not be overlooked, they decided.
Editor-in-Chief of the French site Cors @ air Richard Lyabevier (former editor-in-chief of Radio France Internationale and author of Dollars for a Terrorist about possible US relations with terrorist organizations) believes that Mr. Barroso, announcing plans to counter American intelligence agencies, “ pretends to be who he is not. "
In an interview with Golos Rossii, Comrade Lyabevier noted that Barroso "constantly worked in the interests of discovering Europe for Americans, he even received the nickname" Trojan Horse ", as he is the main conductor of US influence in the European Commission." Lyabevier also said:
Why are the NSA Russians? As told Alexander Korchnitsky (Utro.ru), The NSA monitored calls for Russians, as reported by the Brazilian newspaper “O Globe”, at the disposal of which turned out to be secret American documents transmitted by Snowden.
The scale of surveillance of the Russians did not disclose the publication. The way in which the NSA accessed data from Russian companies is also not mentioned.
But in Brazil, according to O Globe, telecommunications companies and providers collaborated with the Americans. Intelligence agencies tracked there calls of millions of people. Only in January, the NSA listened and read 2,3 billion of calls and messages from Brazilians.
Day to think. As Yuri Deryabin writes (Utro.ru), the Venezuelan government called on Edward Snowden to decide by Monday on whether he agrees to seek asylum in this country.
“We are waiting for Monday, firstly, to find out whether he confirms his intention to get asylum in Venezuela,” the foreign minister quoted Venezuelan Foreign Minister Elias Haua as saying on the television channel Globovision.
The Minister stressed that the position of Russia will play an important role in resolving the issue of political asylum for Snowden. "He (Snowden) is there, of course, he is not on Venezuelan territory, you need to know the point of view of the Russian government on this subject," - said Comrade Howa.
The President of Bolivia also agreed to grant asylum to Snowden. “If he asks, we will give asylum to this young man, persecuted by his compatriots, who told us how illegally we were controlled by the United States government,” said Comrade Morales.
Yuri Deryabin reminds that on the eve of political asylum Snowden was offered the President of Venezuela. At the same time, Nicaragua’s leader Daniel Ortega declared his readiness to give asylum to the persecuted.
USA: problems with missiles, problems with airplanes. The next tests of the US missile defense system, during which it was planned to intercept a long-range ballistic missile, ended in failure. It is reported by the Pentagon, reports correspondent RIA "News" Peter Martynychev.
The training target was fired from the Marshall Islands, and an interceptor missile from a military base in California. Shoot down the target failed.
An Israeli F-16I fighter with two crew members on board yesterday fell into the Mediterranean. Reports about it "Lenta.ru" with reference to France Press.
It happened near the coast of the Gaza Strip. The cause of the accident was a technical failure of the engine. The pilot and navigator managed to eject. They spent two hours at sea, before they were taken by helicopter to the hospital. Their condition is stable.
The commander of the Israeli Air Force, Major General Amir Eshel, after the incident ordered to suspend flights of all F-15 and F-16 during the investigation of the accident.
Earlier, in the 2012 year, the Israel Air Force had already suspended the flights of American-made F-16 fighters. This was done to check paint peeling. Such, according to experts, could damage the engine of the aircraft.
630.000 gosdepovskih dollars for "likes". The US Department of State has spent $ 630 thousand dollars on buying “likes” on Facebook. According to Nick Gillespie, editor-in-chief of Reason.com and Daily Beast columnist, the results of such budget investments are unsatisfactory. He stated this "Voice of Russia" (interview led by Rick Young).
Comrade Gillespie believes that the State Department could strengthen the security system of US embassies abroad, but spend money on "likes."
The fact is that the more “likes” such sites receive, the higher their status, the more important the audience perceives the information on them. This is the principle "The crowd is always right" ... "
Unfortunately for the State Department, its strategy for social networks is reminiscent of the “Potemkin village” online. People are not interested in reading “prim press releases that hide half of the information,” Gillespie notes. The State Department does not understand its audience. The analyst believes that gosdepovtsy "know nothing about what is happening in cyberspace." This moment indicates the existence of a large organizational “swamp”.
Washington Sultanate. As Egor Baklanov writes ("Telegraphist"), referring to American sources, the scandal associated with the attack on the US embassy in Libya 11 last September, is gaining new strength in the United States.
It turned out that the CIA for a long time could not decide on what can be allowed to discuss journalists. It turns out that the ambassador warned the CIA about the impending attack and asked to evacuate the diplomatic mission. Scouts did not believe him. The game with journalists is the failure of the Obama administration, which had no use for the election scandal.
It also turned out that the leadership of the largest American media agreed with the terms of the CIA. Why? Because of family ties. The relationship between the government and the media in the United States "is reminiscent of some Middle Eastern sultanate." Enthusiasts have collected a whole collection of family ties.
The sister of the president of ABC News is the coordinator of the presidential administration on defense policy, weapons of mass destruction and arms control.
David Rhodes, president of the CBS News Division, is the brother of Obama's Deputy National Security Advisor and is responsible for strategic communications, along with Obama's foreign policy speech writer. It was this Mr. who threatened with the dismissal of the correspondent, who allowed herself a tough coverage of the events in Benghazi in relation to the White House.
Virginia Mosley, deputy head of the CNN bureau in Washington, is the wife of Tom Niddes, who until recently was the undersecretary of state for Hillary Clinton (during events in Libya).
Neil King, the leading political reporter for The Wall Street Journal, is the husband of Communications Director Vice President Biden.
ABC reporter Claire Shipman is the wife of White House spokeswoman Jay Carney.
The correspondent in the White House from the radio "NPR" Ari Shapiro - the wife of Michael Gottlieb, an employee of the legal service of the White House.
Political consultant Richard Grenell told Fox News that the wife of NBC’s senior political editor, Mark Murray, Sasha Johnson, is the presidential appointee to the Federal Civilian Administration aviation USA. Mark Murray commented on this: “I did not disclose that my wife is the presidential appointee, because I informed the NBC management about it and they said that they didn’t care.” This Sasha is a former CNN producer and assistant director of public relations for the US Department of Transportation.
So much for the independent American media! Obviously, they are convenient levers that Mr. B. H. Obama deftly operates on when needed.
Stages totalitarian enslavement. Dragan Matievich ("Activist Post"; source of translation - antizoomby.livejournal.com) told about the stages that global manipulators adhere to, which do their job in the world.
Stage 1. "The spread of fear, ignorance and disorder." The masses are kept in a frightened and ignorant state of their true position by “bombarding” them with distraction mechanisms (pop culture, useless education, greed, fear, drugs, pornography, war, etc.).
Stage 2. "Victory in the battle for attention." This stage is aimed at attracting and motivating. Motivation is built on a promise to give the crowd a wonderful life (“American Dream”). Both secular authorities and religious leaders are involved in motivation. In the secular world, promise refers primarily to money and sex, religious promises guarantee relief from suffering, prosperity and happiness. All this is a carrot, the author writes, and fear (of poverty, hunger, loneliness, hell) is a stick.
Stage 3. "Imposing and satisfying needs." Manipulators understand the importance of the principle of needs. People are pushed to give up responsibility, independence, the ability to think independently; they are frightened by loneliness.
Stage 4. "Creating and controlling the opposition." Those who were once brothers and sisters, stand against each other. Constant friction destroys the world.
Stage 5. "Creating isolation." This includes isolation from traditional life, from history, from family, friends, even isolation from one’s own common sense. Instead, you are inspired with an ideology of "Freedom, Equality, and Brotherhood," always meaning the opposite of the traditional meaning of these terms.
Stage 6. "Creating a vertical hierarchy." Driven sheep need to be managed. The man at the top must be an absolute despot. In this case, the lower levels must convince each other and report on each other's behavior to the higher levels.
Stage 7. "Creating a vertical economy." Wealth must come to the top, and the ruler at the top must exploit the slaves.
Stage 8. "Secrecy". Nothing important should leak down.
Stage 9. "The morality of the relativity." This relativity may change according to the whims of the rulers. End justifies the means.
Stage 10. "Monitoring communications and propaganda propaganda." The truth belongs to a few - absolute despots, located on top of the structure. With the help of propaganda and an inverted sense, values are turned upside down.
Stage 11. "Planting and cultivating absolute certainty." Despots believe in themselves without a doubt. The rest should treat despots as gods.
Stage 12. "Absolute ruthlessness in the execution of all principles." The principle of ruthlessness means that all these manipulations require cruelty.
How to resist enslavement? Dragan Matievich writes that the spiritual world is the biggest obstacle to totalitarian power. It is necessary to repel that so-called culture, which teaches people to “useless things, make us work hard, confusing us, bombarding us with violence and horror, pornography, alcohol, drugs, sports and entertainment shows, feeding us toxins, instilling us envy, blame, greed laziness, malice and fear. "
Will Obama fly to Moscow? The Kremlin has no information about the possible US intention to cancel the visit of Barack Obama to Moscow, scheduled for September.
“We don't know anything,” said ITAR-TASS Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the information spread by the media. “The visit is being prepared,” comrade Peskov added.
The President of the United States is due to arrive in the Russian capital at the beginning of September to meet with the Russian leader on the eve of the G20 summit in St. Petersburg.
"Russia is a Machist country ruled by a chauvinist leader." Ines Kappert ("Tageszeitung"; source abbr. translation - "Inopressa") interviewed two anonymous punk band members.
“The Russian state is quite afraid of us,” the participants of Pussy Riot, remaining incognito, said in an interview. “It’s dangerous when artists take on painful manifestations in society, when they want to change his way of thinking.”
The girls, in their words, “did not think that punk prayer in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior would turn into prison terms”. "Yes, we knew that not everyone would like it, but such a harsh sentence, given that no one was injured during our action, came as a surprise."
As emphasized by activists, such acts are qualified as a violation of public order. "The normal punishment for our prayer in the temple would be a fine of one thousand rubles."
The main reason for such a harsh verdict of the participants in the group is that “Russia is a Machist country ruled by a chauvinist leader.” “He, and his entourage, were very scared when a feminist group appeared and began to criticize the system.”
Mark Adomanis: Russia is not Egypt. “Almost every time when a popular uprising overthrows an authoritarian government, people start openly thinking about“ when will the same thing happen in Russia? ”Writes Mark Adomanis in an article for "Forbes" (source abbr. translation - "Inopressa").
A famous publicist points out that this is very unlikely.
Difference №1: "The growth rate of the Egyptian population is one of the highest in the world, and this puts tremendous pressure on the economic and political institutions in the country." The number of Russian population does not change.
Difference №2. Russia has succeeded in eradicating poverty. Russia, but not Egypt: “Almost one fifth of the Egyptian population is at such a level of poverty that it threatens their survival.”
Difference №3. “If you look at the countries in which the revolution took place over the past few years, you will see that the main role there has almost always been played by people who have been around 20 or 20 for a bit of years,” the author notes. In Russia, a relatively small number of young people, but many middle-aged and old people.
Difference №4. "In Egypt, a very small part of the citizens are involved in productive economic activity," the article of Adomanis says. The author cites the number of working women in Russia and Egypt: about 70% and 25%, respectively. “A little bit rough around the situation, we can say that the majority of Russians should get up every morning and go to work, while a huge number of Egyptians do not,” the journalist states.
Difference №5. In Russia - economic growth, and some of the wealth really falls to average consumers. The Egyptian economy barely manages to grow to accommodate the increasing population.
Difference №6. The Egyptian government will hardly have enough of all the reserve funds for three months of food imports. The Russian government is "sitting on a huge pile of money."
Difference №7. Egypt is at the level of urbanization that Russia passed more than half a century ago, and the difficulty of controlling poor agrarian societies with a growing population is well known.
The question “when will the same thing happen in Russia?”, We add from ourselves, it only gives out the questioner’s destructive desires, but in essence it cannot be objective.
Thirty-six warships. In 2013, the Russian Navy will include thirty-six new warships. About this at the International Naval Salon in St. Petersburg, said Deputy Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Alexander Fedotenkov, writes Dmitry Grigoriev ("Russian newspaper").
We are talking about ships of all classes: warships, boats, auxiliary vessels. The Deputy Commander-in-Chief emphasized that this is a record indicator of the replenishment of the Navy with new ships over the past decades.
Putin in Belarus comes on the heels of Lukashenko. The results of a sociological survey conducted in March by the Independent Institute of Socio-Economic and Political Studies (Vilnius, Lithuania) showed that Alexander Lukashenko is the most popular among Belarusians. This is stated in a recent press release of the Institute, reports IA "REGNUM".
Lukashenko gained 20,9% of Belarusians in March. The second place in the ranking was shared by the late head of the Communist Party of Belarus, Peter Masherov and Vladimir Putin (in terms of 19,8%). In the popularity rating among the Belarusians, Peter I (12,1%) and Margaret Thatcher (11,8%) also gained high positions.
Agency "REGNUM" reminds that in the 2008 year, the greatest sympathy among the Belarusians was earned by Vladimir Putin.
