The average unified tracked platform "Kurganets-25" can become a base for a whole family of military equipment. It is possible that in the near future we will be able to see not only BMP, but also other combat and auxiliary vehicles, including self-propelled guns.
On the basis of the first-generation domestic combat vehicle BMP-1, various options for its application were also developed at one time. The base of the world's first machine of this class was supposed to be used as the basis for light tank, 122-mm self-propelled howitzers, other equally interesting cars.
However, in the end, under the light tanks 70-ies in Kurgan and Volgograd developed a new chassis, and the ACS "Gvozdika" was made on the basis of the Kharkov conveyor MT-LBu. By the way, on the same machine, and not the BMP-1, various equipment began to be mounted, only about fifty options, not counting those that were created in the countries of the former Warsaw Pact. The fact was that MT-LBu turned out to be cheaper in production.
Of course, various variants were created based on the BMP-1 and BMP-2, in particular, the MP-31 control vehicle, the BMP-1KSH command and control vehicle, the BRM-1K combat reconnaissance vehicle, several modifications of mobile reconnaissance points, repair and evacuation vehicles machines, engineering reconnaissance machine "Beetle". But in terms of mass character and abundance of modifications, this technique is, of course, inferior to the one that was based on MT-LB and MT-LBu.
True, in the army of the former Czechoslovakia, where BMP-1 and BMP-2 were produced (including for the Soviet army) under license, they were able to create a real family based on the machines developed in the USSR. What it just was not: self-propelled mortar, armored personnel carriers, self-propelled self-propelled guns, ambulances, reconnaissance radar and much more.
Another record holder in the number of modifications made on the basis of licensed BMP-2 can be considered India, here also this chassis was used to the maximum.
On the basis of the third generation of domestic BMPs, it was planned to create many more different machines. But, unfortunately, most of them remained in the form of prototypes.

It can be assumed that a happier fate will be in the "Kurgants-25", which, as they said earlier, will be largely unified with the wheeled armored personnel carrier "Boomerang" (engine, modules of additional armor), and with weapons, fire control systems - and with heavy BMP based on the platform "Armata".
Last year, during one of the shows, you could see various versions of machines based on the "Kurgants-25". Among them was "flashed" a kind of combat vehicle with heavy artillery weapons. Some experts have made the assumption that this is nothing more than a continuation of the anti-tank self-propelled gun 2С25 "Sprut", in a new capacity and on a new chassis. And since the placement of weapons was a fire station, they even suggested that this car was a kind of mini-Armata.
According to other data, the presented artillery version of "Kurgants-25" is a continuation of the line of ACS "Vienna" - "Khost", and maybe even 2С3 "Acacia", the benefit of this 152-mm self-propelled gun weighs slightly more than 25-ton "Kurgantsa" .
On a promising car must be applied the latest management system guidance and fire. It will be integrated into the automated command and control system. Thanks to this, advancing or defending units will always be supported by fire. All the possibilities to create such a "digital" ACS are in Russia.
