"Dumb" law? Norway puts women at arms
In this case, we are talking about the fact that the Norwegian Storting (parliament) by a majority vote adopted a law on the obligation of conscription for women. Once again: mandatory! This raises Norway to the absolute first position among all European states, in which henceforth the obligations of both sexes to fulfill their military duty to the fatherland (sorry, which in this case is capitalized) are equalized. The law states that all Norwegian girls who are eligible for military service and who are in draft age will be required to serve exactly 12 months in the ranks of the Norwegian army starting with 2015.
For the final adoption of this legislative provision, the Norwegian parliament will have to hold another vote, but today in this Scandinavian country, few doubt that Norwegian women will go to the army. The parliamentarians have no doubt in the final adoption of this decision, after the Norwegian Minister of Defense Ström-Eriksen stated that the adoption of the law is carried out in historical for norway day. You ask, what does it mean? And that also means that the Minister of Defense of Norway is a woman. In addition, a woman who, as they say, with two legs stands on the fact that the Norwegian draftees replenish the army of the kingdom in the coming years.
Representatives of the majority of Norwegian political parties are in favor of adopting the law. The party of Christian Narodniks (HNPI) became the only political force that came out with a categorical condemnation of the almost already adopted law.
But if in the Norgovian country such an almost unanimity on this issue is demonstrated, then what is the reason? Perhaps the reason for this is that Norway today is a country that is forced to fend off numerous external attacks, and the army, consisting exclusively of male military personnel, has already ceased to be sufficient for this? But this is hardly the case. After all, today Norway, in contrast to, say, Israel, is clearly not conducting frequent military operations against those who encroach on its territorial integrity. Moreover, Norway is in the NATO military bloc, which, by definition, must come to Oslo to help, if they suddenly find themselves in a difficult position connected with external aggression against Norway. And if you add the words of the official representatives of the Norwegian Defense Ministry that the Norwegian army today has no shortage of draftees (only about 8,5 thousand military recruits plus about 6 thousand military men of other status), then the logic is to start the call of Norwegian The army, it would seem, is lost altogether. But…
The answer to the question about logic or its absence is given by all the same Mrs. Ström-Eriksen. She states that with the adoption of the new law, Norway will finally turn into a country in which the principle of sexual equality will be implemented. It seems that the only thing that somehow distinguished a young man from a girl in Scandinavia was conscription for men and the lack of it for women. Now the flag of the Norwegian Gender Equality will begin to proudly fly over this component ...
Sorry generously, but how then to be with famous human rights in “progressive Europe”? After all, there is a violation of the main democratic conquest of the Old World - women, it turns out, no one asked. How would they all be a priori “for” ... So, is it time to put the question squarely at the UN Security Council about the presence of anti-people power in Norway? Enter a no-fly zone? Bombing the residences of Harold V? Had it not been Norway, the “progressive” world would have already found a cause for displeasure ... Your deeds are wonderful, European democracy!
But throwing aside the slag about the democratic perturbations of northern Europe, it is worth considering the situation more soberly. If there are enough men in the army, it seems to be enough, and if nobody (except Breivik) has attacked 70 for years, then really the cause of the female draft is exclusively in equality. Well, just do not have to tell fairy tales! Then it would first have passed a law that obliges to give birth to male Norwegian individuals ... That would be in Norwegian. Tolerant and equal. And then, apparently, the salt is something else ... What is it?
Most likely in the fact that Strøm-Eriksen, and all the others who supported the new law with both hands, understand: Norway is quite a successful cash cow for the whole of Europe from an economic point of view. For the time being, this money is for good money, but everything flows, everything changes ... If something suddenly happens to the price of energy resources, then the EU will be the easiest way to knock them out from Norway under the pretext of a large democratic fraternity. Russia, Iran, Venezuela are troublesome countries in this regard for Europe, and the price of European friendship is well known to the Norwegians, and therefore aware that 8700 recruits today, in fact, are just “ugh” if the country has to face real claims on resources. In this regard, it seems that the decision to enlist women in military service is only the first step. Step by step two is an increase in the number of the entire Norwegian army - as they say, just in case, and cases, as you know, are really all sorts ...
Only here the Norwegian parliamentarians, who are adopting the bill under discussion (five minutes to the law), somewhat forget that today every 13-th subject of the kingdom is a Norwegian naturalized. Moreover, the majority of this number are “Norwegian” from various Muslim countries. And the tendency in addition is that every 13 is today, and with the influx of migrants and the relative ease of receiving citizenship just for Muslim “guests”, by the 2015 year, every 10 is already ... Are these ladies ready to take on weapon in order to defend the interests of their new homeland? If someone is ready, then these women can be called, rather, the exception. Well, obviously not for this purpose tens of thousands of foreigners come to Norway every year (especially women) in order to be in the army of this country and begin to fulfill the military obligations imposed by the law. Protecting Norwegian oil with a weapon in hand for an immigrant from Tunisia who received Norwegian citizenship sounds impressive ...
Or will they call only fair-haired and blue-eyed? .. This is a no less powerful option, which the current and already motley Norwegian society can finally split.
Or will the Norwegian krone help them? But only here, upholding state interests exclusively for banknotes usually does not lead to anything good. There will always be someone who is ready to give more ...
Apparently, it is not for nothing that the Norwegian military expert Frank Brundtland expresses concerns:
Frank is right, right ... The outcome of the "dumb" law is impossible to predict for Norway.
