Kiev is an amazing city. Here, sacred, spiritual and monumental monuments to the fallen soldiers, bas-reliefs of ordinary peasants and workers, all those who won the Great Victory with sweat and blood, peacefully coexist.

On the way to the museum, directly opposite the Lavra, there is a monument to the soldiers-internationalists who died in Afghanistan. Let us stand a minute in silence, honor the memory. What is nice, no matter how much I go here, there are always fresh wreaths and flowers.

Go ahead, on the sides of the alley leading to the museum there are such tools. The label reads ZIS-3 sample 1942.

And so our goal is achieved. We buy an entrance ticket 3 hryvnia (about 12 rubles) and a photo ticket 10 hryvnia (40 rubles).

At the entrance we are greeted by the model of the T-27 1931 tanket shoes of the year. The crew of the 1-2 man, weight 2,7 tone, armed with a machine gun 7,62mm, armor 10mm, the maximum speed 40 km / h.

Coming out of the museum of technology and passing 30 meters to the monument to the Motherland, we see impressive bas-reliefs. The bas-reliefs are two people tall, and the patriotic music of those years plays. Very atmospheric.

Well, on the trail, I wish that any military equipment in the world was used only for such purposes.

      It’s not a bad museum, there are quite rare samples, it’s a pity that the aviation part of the exposition is practically not shown. I hope to continue, plus to the author.

          The Aviation Museum in Kiev was created 10 years ago on the basis of the remnants of what they did not have time to cut into training scrap from two training aerodromes of the destroyed KVIAVU Air Force and KII GA (now NAU, which has almost lost its aviation profile due to the lack of need for aviation personnel). Created thanks to the initiative of the then rector of NAU Babak, which was eaten and removed. The museum is alive thanks to the remarkable chief of the reserve colonel, graduate of the Air Force Command and Aviation Command Ziyatdinov and the support of the NAUU leadership

        There is practically nothing from aviation. Two MiGs ("troika" and some of the relatively modern) and the workaholic Li-2. And in general, there is a lot of equipment, but the site is too small, because of this, it was even placed near the entrances to the museum premises. That would be more places and the concept to change, to role-playing, or what? ..

          There were six monitors - "river cruisers" named after the dead sailors - heroes of the Civil War. Defending the Motherland, the monitors "Pearls", "Martynov", "Rostovtsev", "Flyagin" and "Levachev" died heroically on the Dnieper and its tributaries in fierce battles with the enemy in the first months of the Great Patriotic War. The fate of "Zheleznyakov" was different ...

          On the day of the treacherous attack of Nazi Germany on our country, "Zheleznyakov" was on high alert as part of the Danube military flotilla. At 4:15 pm on June 22, he fired the first cannon salvo at the Nazis who fired at the ship. In that first fierce battle, which lasted almost the entire day, the artillery of the monitor destroyed one of the batteries and shot down an enemy plane.

          Dozens of hot battles with enemy tanks, aviation and artillery withstood the ship, operating on the Danube, and emerged victorious from all. When the enemy occupied the left bank of the river and received an order from the flotilla to break through to Odessa, the Zheleznyakov, together with other ships, left Izmail and headed through a curtain of fire into the Black Sea, crushing the enemy's accumulations.

          Built specifically for operations on shallow rivers, the monitor often made deep raids on the enemy's rear and with powerful artillery strikes destroyed crossings, firing points, as well as accumulations of enemy troops and military equipment. Elusive was called "Zheleznyakov". And this was true. No matter how hot the battles the ship had to participate in, it always returned victorious.

          After the battles in the Dnieper-Bug estuary, the ship moved to the Sea of Azov, where it was included in the separate Don detachment of the Azov military flotilla. In the summer of 1942, in the lower reaches of the Don and Kuban, the battle glory of the Zheleznyakov thundered again.

          In the Akhtanizovsky estuary "Zheleznyakov" under the command of senior lieutenant A. Ye. Kharchenko heroically fought against Nazi artillery and mortar batteries, tanks, infantry and aviation, defending one of the most important bases of the Azov flotilla Temryuk. After fierce battles, the latter broke through the Zheleznyakov monitor and minesweeper boat No. 581 from the Kuban across the Kerch Strait. Neither enemy gunfire, nor air raids, nor sandy shoals and shallows, nor a storm could prevent the sailors from entering the open sea.

          When the storm threw the ship ashore, its crew closed the holes for three days, eliminated the damage and continued the campaign.

          Until September 1944, the monitor was being repaired in Poti. Then he again headed for the mouth of the Danube, where new battles awaited him. Until the victorious May 1945, "Zheleznyakov" participated in hostilities as part of the revived Danube Flotilla, providing fire support to the Red Army troops in their great international mission of liberating the peoples of the Danube countries.

          Over forty thousand kilometers the monitor passed along the banks of the Danube, Dnieper, Southern Bug, Don, Kuban, Black and Azov Seas during the war years. Thirteen artillery and mortar batteries, two ammunition depots, and four enemy infantry battalions were destroyed by his artillery.

          Currently, "Zheleznyakov", installed on a pedestal near the Dnieper (Address: Kiev, street. Electric, 31 (Rybalsky Island)), carries out honorary service as a ship-monument and museum.

          Displacement full 263 t, normal - 230 t; length 51,2 m, width 8,2 m, draft 0,9 m; diesel power 140 l. from.; 8,3 knot speed; range 3700 miles. Armament: 2102-mm, 3 45-mm and 2 37-mm guns and 3 12,7-mm machine gun. Crew 72 person.

        There is "in our district" - in Troeshchina, Kiev, a film studio makes films, to be honest - below average, in cooperation with Russian film companies.
        They had several projects - films about the war, but I'm not talking about that.
        They don’t hide the equipment used in films in the pavilion, but exhibited it under their office - they got such a small open-air museum where children like to climb, and on May 9 the film studio organizes a holiday for veterans, for which special thanks to them.

    Let them try !!!!
    A monument to the Afghans, in my opinion, is one of the best in the CIS. It must be considered in combination:
    - the monument itself knocks a tear from a knowledgeable person;
    - the photograph does not show the entire complex (memorial plates (in alphabetical order) with the names of all those who died in the war who lived in Ukraine are installed counterclockwise around the monument);
    - In front of the monument is the church "For all those who died in local wars" (we call it the Afghan church) !!

          This is a MODEL of an armored car with two towers from the T-10M, exhibited in Kiev in the memorial "Motherland"
          Such cars were made in the 60's and were intended to protect the railway tracks in the Far East from the small soldier-soldiers of the great helmsman Mao.
          Several armored trains from the reserve, albeit with newer weapons, took part in the hostilities in Chechnya.

          According to other sources, it is "Bronevagon" - a museum improvisation using the chassis of a freight car and two towers from T-10M tanks.
