Evgeny Pozhidaev: The failure of multiculturalism and the face of the new European nationalism
The reaction to the Stockholm clashes in Russia turned out to be predictable, and media coverage was completely unambiguous. The picture, automatically formed in the head of a simple domestic racist, looks like this. The "black monkeys", the Muslims sitting on the allowance and lounging at the expense of the state, showed a black ingratitude in relation to the Swedes, tormented by political correctness and multiculturalism, who had sent them into the country from abstract humanism. As for the immediate cause of the unrest, "their rage caused the police to clash with an 69-year-old man of Arab origin who threatened his wife with a machete. Realizing that a woman would die, one of the police shot the man and killed him. This incident occurred in the past month, and caused the riots perpetrated by the neighbors of the deceased, who saw it as a provocation by the Swedish authorities against Muslim communities in the country. "Everything is accurate, except for some details. "Man of Arab descent" was a Portuguese turner, married to Finns, and quietly living in Sweden for thirty years. The wife, unlike the police, did not even suspect that something threatened her life - however, the turner had the misfortune to collect Finnish knives and go out with one of them to the balcony. The result - a broken door, stun grenades and a headshot. “It was a misunderstanding, and we apologized” ((c) the police). Apologies, in turn, did not immediately follow. According to the original version of the police, the Portuguese died five days later in the hospital - however, to the policeman's misfortune, the Portuguese hunters were photographed at the moment when they were already taking the dead turner out of the house. In addition, there are quite a lot of Finns in Sweden, they have their own publications, and the Finnish-language press, instead of understanding the fighters against the Portuguese invasion, cynically published statements by a relative of his wife who showed a clear lack of understanding of the importance and necessity of shooting the Portuguese for appearing on the balcony with Finnish knife. The same misunderstanding was demonstrated by local savages, who decided, no matter what, to gather in the square and protest against innocent police amusements. Naturally, the monkeys began to beat a little bit and cosmetically poison the dogs. Slanderous statements such as the phrase of a typical black savage named Boyan Georgic “dogs are let down on women and children” are, of course, not true.
And, naturally, this passage of a black monkey of Russian origin is a shameless lie. “Sweden is a difficult country. The Swedes themselves are far from being the most pleasant people in the world. I’m generally silent about the Swedish police: vile, deceitful, they give you cuffs, then they say that it was like that.” Moreover, they can still blame you for attacking Abuse of authority for local police is common, especially with regard to foreigners, even whites, even gray, even black. Believe me, I know this system and their people better. So do not judge strictly immigrant youth. They are right in many ways. Of course , burning cars is not the best way to pro ECTA, but this youth has no other opportunities to express their outrage. To arrange a demonstration with placards? Hardly help. And the same police quickly dispersed. "
It is claimed that only up to 100 people participated in the "pogroms", and the arsons of the cars were largely stopped by the efforts of the immigrants themselves - the volunteers began to patrol the problem areas - but this, of course, is nothing to confirm the conjectures designed to whitewash the "black" ones.
In general, the five-day hatred, arranged by Russian lovers to empathize with the oppressed white people in Europe, makes an anecdotal impression - domestic "racially full-fledged" individuals for tolerant Swedes are about the same ethnic rubbish as Arabs, Somalis, Poles and Yugoslavs - with the nuance that Russophobia in Sweden has a long and respectable history. However, let's leave sarcasm and look at the actual state of affairs on the Old Continent.
Let's start directly from Sweden. The import of labor for it is by no means a manifestation of abstract humanism. The Swedish “socialism” was already, to a large extent, built on the solid foundation of cheap labor by immigrants — in the 1960-1970's, these were mainly immigrants from Finland and southern Europe. The more relevant "import" is now - Swedish society is rapidly aging, people older than 65 have already made up almost 20% of the population, and in the near future their share will reach 30% (for comparison, in Russia the share of the same age group is only 13 %, however, is growing rapidly).
As a result, the share of immigrants and their descendants in Sweden is about 20%. At the same time, the overwhelming majority are not sitting on the neck of the state - immigrants, for example, make up 41% of cleaning service employees (simply cleaners) in the whole country, and 80% in Stockholm. Every second license of a doctor in Sweden is issued to “those who have come to a halt”, their share is even higher among less qualified medical personnel.
Nevertheless, the fact remains that the unemployment rate among immigrants is much higher than among indigenous Swedes - 16% versus 6%, among young people it reaches 30%. Unemployment is almost 100% among blacks. In this case, the matter is not only and not so much in the "laziness" of immigrants - living on welfare in Sweden is in fact an extremely dubious pleasure. Hypertolerant Sweden in the harsh reality is a very closed society, built on the principle of "others do not walk here." For an immigrant — unless it is about “their own” Western Europeans — it is multiple times harder to find a job; his career prospects are deliberately limited (“the thought that the visitor may become the head of the company will not be allowed by him, let alone his boss”). The police and social services look at those who come to a halt in a peculiar way.
At the same time, the issue is not about the “war of civilizations” - the largest immigrant community in Sweden is the Yugoslavs, Muslims constitute only 5% of the population. However, the level of "non-integration" of Serbs, Croats and Bosnians is enough to provide recruits for the most powerful criminal community in Sweden. “Aliens” are not only Eastern Europeans - as can be seen from the example of a Portuguese shot, and not only, people from southern Europe are also victims of xenophobia. On the mores that flourish in Scandinavia, says at least the fact that in neighboring Norway, the object of xenophobia is ... the Swedes themselves, acting there as a relatively cheap and hard-working labor force.
In other words, behind the declared tolerance hides by no means the most tolerant society - successfully blocking the attempts of strangers to “get into people”. And this is not at all Swedish exotics. At the same time, the “zero” façade of the European social state began to crumble rapidly under the weight of public debt, and the poorest segments of the population became the first victims of the “shedding” - for obvious reasons, to a considerable extent represented by immigrants. In Sweden, there is a savings program, unemployment benefits are gradually decreasing, the fee for “social” housing is rising. In the rebellious Hyusby, the state medical center was closed and replaced by a small private one. Social programs are declining everywhere, the level of property stratification is growing.
As a result, where "Muslim pogroms" are seen by the domestic racist, the so-called "mass uprising" is somewhat sober. The composition of the Paris riots 2005-th and 2007-th shows a combination of the Arabs of the Maghreb, and people from the completely Christian part of black Africa - and, for example, the Serbs. The London insurgency 2011 shows the most politically correct harmony between the black population and the racially full-fledged white lumpen (chavs), which constituted up to 30% pogromists. In Greece, much larger-scale clashes didn’t have any immigrant overtones at all - the local youth managed on their own. Islamists are not behind any of the outbreaks of mass violence - for example, in the case of Stockholm clashes, the megaphone left organization became the mouthpiece of the protesters.
In fact, we see the reproduction of the situation of 1930-x, when the Great Depression led to the radicalization of the lower class, and street violence became commonplace. At the same time, even then the “class” confrontation had an ethnic tinge - which gave rise to a cohort of ultra-right movements. For example, the French nationalists of that era suffered unbearably from the invasion of German guest workers who took jobs from the indigenous population and "spread their culture", eroding French national identity. The Germans fought the Polish invasion from the beginning of the twentieth century, cursing "the appeasability of unreliable aliens" and pointing out the horrors of the crowding out of the native German population by the Eastern barbarians. In the 1930-x struggle broke out with a new force. So, according to the Nazis, "if there is no opportunity to ensure the entire population of the state guaranteed earnings, representatives of foreign nations (non-Germans) should be expelled beyond the Reich ... Any kind of further immigration of the Germans should be prevented." Immigrants, in turn, constituted a significant part of the substrate on which the 1930's left movements grew.
Now the story, in fact, repeats. The left is quite logical to be in the same boat with immigrants - and a wave of nationalists rises to meet them. The influence of the extreme right has slowly but surely grown over the past twenty years. So, in Breivik's homeland, in Norway, the far-right "Progress Party" has become the second most important political force in the country (22,1% of votes) as early as 2005. A breakthrough began with 2008. The nationalist Austrian Freedom Party (APS) and the Union for the Future of Austria (UBA) won almost a third of the votes in the parliamentary elections. In 2010, the MTA candidate received the same third in the mayoral election in Vienna. In the elections to the European Parliament in 2009, the radicals got 56 seats from 736, dramatically strengthening their positions in Austria, Italy, Denmark, Holland, England, Greece, Romania and Hungary. At the same time, ultra-right Jobbik was ranked third in the elections in Hungary. The support of the British National Party is also growing: while in 2001, only 47 of thousands of voters voted for BNP, then in 2010 of the second, 564 received thousands of votes. In the same 2010, the National Front of Le Pen quite successfully spoke at the regional elections in France, the extreme right-wing Swedish Democrats made their way into the Swedish parliament. In 2011, True Finns achieved a very serious success, becoming the third strongest force in parliament, and at the elections in Mecklenburg, neo-Nazis made an unexpectedly decent result for Germany. The support level of the Popular Party in Denmark reaches 20%.
However, the enthusiasm of the faithful domestic Nazis in this regard looks strange. The new ultra-rightists are either calmly or kindly gazing at light drugs, euthanasia, same-sex marriage and other signs of a “progressive” reality. Anti-Semitism does not flourish - moreover, the views of the majority of the "new right" are overtly pro-Israel. Gert Wilders, leader of the Dutch ultra-right: "Israel is a beacon and the only democracy in this backward and dictatorial part of the world. Israel is very close to us, to our European identity. Israel is fighting in our war." The new ultra-right do not have kindred feelings for traditional fascists - on the contrary, they use ... anti-fascist rhetoric of struggle with the upcoming totalitarian ideology of Islam.
Ideologically, they are characterized, firstly, by traditional populism in domestic politics. Secondly, Euroskepticism. Arguing with fervor about the cultural unity of Europe, they are against turning the EU into a "superstate" and against helping the weaker countries of the eurozone collapsed in a debt crisis. Thirdly, which almost directly follows from Euroskepsis, the majority views are frankly pro-American. For example, Wilders calls for the creation of a united anti-Islamic front in a very remarkable composition: Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. In fact, this is a slightly veiled proposal from Germany and France to go on a "crusade" against Islam under the leadership of the States.
However, the main core of ideology is, naturally, the anti-immigrant position. Moreover, it is justified by appeals to ... tolerance, which must be protected from the onset of totalitarian Islam. However, the range of interests of the "new right" is not limited to Muslims. Thus, Le Pen’s main figure in anti-immigrant rhetoric in 2002 and 2005 was the Polish plumber Peter, and Haider’s national pathos was largely addressed to the Poles (“nation of car thieves”) and Russians (“experts on extortion and blackmail” ) Yugoslavs.
"Current" nationalists actively support this tradition. The Dutch far right, for example, has got a specialized website dedicated to the problems of "crime, alcoholism, drug use, prostitution" created by people from Eastern Europe. From the point of view of Wilders' associates, “Europe can be littered" not only by Muslims, but also by Poles, Romanians, Bulgarians, Estonians, and Latvians. The rhetoric addressed to the inhabitants of poor EU countries, vividly recalls that the nationalist nationalist usually addresses Tajiks: "labor migrants from Eastern Europe, they reach the point where they throw out household garbage from honest Dutchmen and pick it up. ”Similarly, the True Finns program called for a ban on Russians from buying property in Finland.
This is the face of the new European nationalists. At the same time, their ideology is becoming less marginal. The relatively small number of votes received by the ultra-right at the elections does not really reflect the mood of the majority of voters - judging by sociological research, the European man in the street under the mask of political correctness hides highly developed xenophobic attitudes. For example, two-thirds of the Dutch are dissatisfied with the appearance of Poles in the country, and as many think that there is no use for them. Thousands of complaints were received by 32 on the anti-European website mentioned in a few days. More than half of Germans agree with Tilo Sarrazin, who released anti-Muslim "labor." A third believes that when there is not enough work, foreigners should be sent home. At the same time, such sentiments are common both in the middle strata of society and among the elite - for example, a journalistic investigation showed that the "secret" supporters of the BNP include "managers of leading companies, professionals with prestigious diplomas, people with well-known names."
As a result, traditional political parties are gradually drifting towards the new right. Angela Merkel's statement about the failure of multiculturalism policies and the similar statements of David Cameron are only one of the symptoms of these shifts. Thus, the representative of the League of the North got a portfolio of the Minister of Internal Affairs in the office of Berlusconi, Wilders cooperates with the ruling coalition, the head of the Ministry of Interior of France talked about the "inequality of civilizations" and about the superiority of European values over all others. In other words, the political mainstream is actively ruling. Right views often prevail in power structures.
In parallel with the European youth, authoritarian sympathies are growing. So, in Sweden, 25% of people between the ages of 19 and 29 think that it will be good or very good if the country is ruled by a "strong leader who is not worried about parliament and elections."
Meanwhile, while we see only the very beginning of the European crisis. Eurozone government debt continues to grow at a pace ahead of the European Commission, Eurostat recorded a record level of unemployment, GDP is declining. Further compression of social programs is almost inevitable. As a result, a chain of outbursts of violence from the lower class, both “color” and completely white, is just as inevitable. Apparently, the growth of the influence of the ultra-right is just as inevitable - while the national zealots of the purity of the race may not like its final result.
