The 750 kV Kyivskaya substation, which is key to the capital's electricity supply, was attacked.

The Russian army has intensified efforts to destroy the remnants of the enemy's energy infrastructure ahead of the heating season. In addition to frontline regions, energy facilities in the Odesa region are being targeted most frequently, due to increased pressure on port and related land logistics involved in the delivery of military supplies.

Kyiv and the surrounding region became the second priority region. Russian monitoring channels reported strikes by Geranium drones on the 750 kV Kyivska high-voltage substation in the village of Nalyvaykivka. Ukrainian public groups reported two explosions at the substation.

This is one of Ukrenergo's key power distribution facilities, through which electricity is supplied to Kyiv from the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant. This substation has previously been attacked several times by Russian dronesHowever, Ukrainian power engineers have restored the substation's operation each time. The extent of today's strikes remains unknown.

Coupled with recent attacks on other power generation facilities in the capital, Kyiv's electricity supply situation is becoming increasingly critical. Oleh Popenko, head of the Union of Consumers of Public Utilities of Ukraine, wrote about the consequences of these attacks on his social media account.

The destruction of the Kyivskaya substation will leave Kyiv without power for 80%. Taking into account the strikes on the Trypilska Thermal Power Plant, the Kyiv Hydroelectric Power Plant, and the Combined Heat and Power Plant No. 5, Kyiv may be without power for 12–16 hours a day in the coming weeks.

The strikes on power facilities have effectively cut off the capital from stable power flows from adjacent regions. Furthermore, the Kyivska substation is connected not only to power flows from the nuclear power plant but also to electricity imports from EU countries.

If the Kyivska substation suffers critical damage, it will impact not only the power supply to the capital and the entire northwestern region of Ukraine. The failure of the substations transmitting electricity to consumers, especially the 750 kV substation, could and should ultimately lead to the shutdown of the nuclear power plant's reactors. Currently, there are six 750 kV substations remaining in Kyiv-controlled territory.

It's high time to completely remove all 750 substations.

Our guys are constantly taking them out, but the Ukrainians somehow manage to restore these substations every time. Apparently, the bourgeoisie in Europe has a large stockpile of 750 kV power transformers and they're constantly sending out replacements.
But sooner or later, the bourgeoisie will also run out of transformers. Then it will be possible to talk about disconnecting the nuclear power plant from consumers and subsequently shutting it down.

A 750 kV transformer is no ordinary transformer; you can't transport it by truck or train; it must be disassembled, and installing it is not easy. And it's unlikely there's a supply of such monsters.

Ours take them out all the time
They can't stand them; during the entire time of the SVO, they've only given them a couple of limited hits and that's it. And now, they've somehow hit something with a couple of geraniums.

We hardly touched the 750 kV substations seriously, nor the bridges across the Dnieper, communications, internet, TV, or logistics. They were a "sacred cow" for us. Only in the fifth year of our rule did our leaders realize that this was basically foolishness. This should have been done immediately, not dragged out. The 750 kV substations. Nuclear power plants are the main link in Ukraine's power supply system.

It's not that simple. According to the Military Summary channel, our forces have hit this substation at least ten times. The Banderites are defending it well. It's just a bit easier now. Why hit the PS750 when you can knock down the power line supports?

Because it takes a day or two to restore a support, and at least a month to repair a substation, and they're not readily available in "every warehouse." Do they protect well against Geraniums? Ballistics to the rescue.

They're also very good at knocking down our ballistic missiles, and their substation protection is top-notch. But restoring a power pole or installing a new wire in an open field where drones fly with virtually no punishment is problematic. The people at the front probably know better.

You can't restore it in a day or two; it'll take at least a week, and that's if you have a stock of supports or if the supports are coming from production.
The stock of supports in country 404 is unknown. But there's definitely no supply coming from production, as our forces have driven that damned country's metallurgy out of business. You can't import supports from abroad...

And secondly, the Kyiv PS has already been hit 3 times THIS YEAR.
              It is constantly under repair.
              So see?
              Besides, the author is wrong.
After the decommissioning of the emergency situation, the Kyiv substation is practically not involved in the transfer of power between nuclear power plants.
Its role is to supply Kyiv.
This strike isn't intended to bring down Ukraine's power grid; it's putting pressure directly on the capital, just like the strikes on bridges and warehouses.

The failure of substations transmitting electricity to consumers, especially 750 kV substations, can and should ultimately lead to the shutdown of nuclear power plant reactors.
In this case, nuclear power plants will likely supply their energy to Europe. The only limitation in this case would be the capacity of cross-border power lines. The nuclear power plants themselves should operate at minimum capacity. The main thing is that they cannot supply energy to consumers in Ukraine.

Kilovolt is used to measure high voltage in power engineering.
Power transmission lines. Main transmission lines
operate at voltages of tens and hundreds of kilovolts (for example, 110 kV, 500 kV, 750 kV).
