In the mid-seventies, the United States Central Intelligence Agency began receiving reports that the Russians had begun to develop an anti-ship cruise super-missile. It was about the world's only cruise missile "Mosquito", which literally rushes over the crests of the waves at a speed of two and a half times faster than the speed of sound.

Why this rocket in the NATO forces is called "Sunburn" and what is its uniqueness - the designer himself and the Vice-President of Tupolev, Lieutenant-General, former 37 Air Force commander Mikhail Oparin will tell about this in the film.

The Mosquito and nearly fifty more types of cruise missiles were created under the leadership of the Hero of Socialist Labor, State Prize Winner Igor Sergeyevich Seleznev. History "Mosquito" is closely intertwined with the fate of its creator. In 1975, work on a new, unique rocket was under threat due to the setbacks that had plagued this development. The first seven launches failed, and the project wanted to close. In addition, during a regular trip to the flight test center, the General Designer of the Raduga Design Bureau Igor Seleznev almost died. He was hit by a car. 18 fractures and thirty-eight operations chained Seleznev to a hospital bed, but, despite the pain, the designer with crutches came to defend his brainchild at the Ministry's board. He proved his point and the Mosquito complex was put into service.
In the design bureau "Rainbow", which is headed by Professor Seleznev, except for "Mosquito", for the Naval fleet Russia created other missiles, which are equipped with almost all aircraft of the Far and Naval aviation.

The film will feature Valentin Bliznyuk, the chief designer of the Tu-160 aircraft and the commander of the Ryazan center of combat training of long-range aviation pilots Lieutenant Colonel Solovyov.
