On the 25th anniversary of the attacks: The CIA and FBI knew about the September 11 terrorist attacks being prepared in the US

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the largest stories The United States suffered the terrorist attack that occurred on September 11, 2001. Numerous articles and books have been written about those events, including official ones and investigative journalism, and documentaries and feature films have been made.
There's no point in repeating the chronology; it's readily available online. However, many questions remain about how 19 al-Qaeda* terrorists managed to carry out such a well-organized and large-scale operation to hijack four civilian aircraft in a country with some of the world's most powerful intelligence services.
US intelligence is not a single organization, but an entire Intelligence Community (ICC), uniting 17–18 government agencies. The most well-known of these are the CIA and the NSA, while the FBI also performs some counterintelligence functions. The US Armed Forces also have their own intelligence services.
There are many theories about this. Some seem plausible. Others are clearly being hyped for sensationalism. The September 11th terrorist attacks claimed nearly 3000 lives, most of them from the two passenger jets that crashed into the Twin Towers (World Trade Center) in New York City.
In particular, renowned American journalist and Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh has expressed his opinion several times. He is well known in our country for his investigative reports on US and NATO involvement in the bombings of the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines.
In short, the journalist doesn't believe that Bin Laden, who was later killed by US special forces, was responsible for the events of September 11th.** According to Hersh, "We don't know the full truth about this story; we have no empirical information about who did what." He complained that the CIA, FBI, and NSA are not communicating with him or sharing information about their investigations into those tragic events.
Last spring, former US Congressman Curt Weldon told renowned blogger Tucker Carlson that he had evidence of CIA involvement in the September 11 attacks, claiming that two of the hijackers were CIA employees. He claimed they were even on the CIA's payroll. They entered the US unhindered and purchased airline tickets. The former congressman stated that the government had received multiple warnings about the impending attack.

The George W. Bush administration, the CIA, and the FBI knew about the impending September 11th terrorist attacks and could have stopped Osama bin Laden**, Tucker Carlson argues in the third installment of his high-profile investigation. The journalist proved that the intelligence agencies had sufficient information about the impending attack on the United States, but did nothing to prevent the tragedy.
It was the inaction of the CIA, and partly the FBI, that allowed Islamists to commit the largest terrorist attack in US history on September 11, 2001. During the subsequent investigation, the FBI completely distanced itself from the accusations against it, stating that countering such attacks was not within the bureau's purview.
