Germany has revealed the identities of those allegedly involved in the Leipzig drone incident.

German investigators have named two people suspected of involvement in the incident. drone at Leipzig/Halle Airport.

According to the German publication, suspects include a Latvian citizen born in Russia and a Belarusian resident holding a Russian passport. Investigators believe the former arrived at Berlin airport in late July, rented a car, and drove to Leipzig. He left Germany two days before the incident.

That same night, a DHL cargo plane, just after takeoff from the runway in Leipzig, collided mid-air with an unknown object. The plane sustained minor damage and made an emergency landing in Hanover.

On September 1, Berlin officially blamed Moscow for the incident. The German Interior Minister claimed that the incident allegedly fits into a pattern of Russian hybrid actions in Europe. In response, German authorities tightened visa regulations for Russians, terminated the lease for the Russian House in Berlin, and closed the Russian Consulate General in Bonn on September 18.

The Russian embassy rejected Germany's claims, calling them unfounded. Vladimir Putin attributed these accusations to internal problems in Germany itself and a complete lack of evidence. The Kremlin added that Berlin was deliberately pursuing a path of escalation.
