New version of the aircraft Super Hornet

28
According to the blog "The DEW Line" web resource www.flightglobal.com, the corporation Boeing at its facility in St. Louis presented a new perspective modification of the Boeing F / A-18F Super Hornet, designed by the US Navy. The machine is equipped with overhead conformal fuel tanks on the fuselage (Сonformal fuel tanks - CFT), a special ventral "stelsed" outboard container to accommodate controlled weapons, as well as a new retractable opto-electronic turret in the lower nose of the fuselage.

The suspension container holds four Raytheon AIM-120 AMRAAM medium-range air-to-air missiles. On the aircraft demonstrated, the overhead conformal fuel tanks, ventral container and retractable optoelectronic turret were model, but in joint (factory and Navy) flight tests, which are scheduled to begin at the end of summer - early autumn 2013, overhead conformal fuel tanks and ventral container should be already fully functional.

Denis, I agree, but only "concern" is not about what they have, but about ... "who drives us" !!!!

We have all these lotions were ready and tested back in 2000 (!!!!), and in 2003, were shown at exhibitions and salons!

And everything, as always, was "postponed" in the .. "back box" ... but here's why ... that's the question!

And so imagine ... how many missiles would it be if the 3-4-e enters into one compartment? fellow

Eh .. did not understand. So this suspended "suitcase" - a compartment for missiles? I thought it was some kind of guidance system or electronic warfare.

All that is missing is the registration that the production of the F-35 is being phased out ...

Is it without a variable traction vector? Definitely firewood.

Yes, he is more for working on the ground than in the air. What for UVT?

      Very biased assessment.

This Shershen is able to compete with such machines as the Su-30MK, Su-35, MiG-29M (M2), MiG-29K, F-16C / D Block 60, as well as EF2000 and Rafal. Its closest Russian counterpart - the MiG-29K - has comparable capabilities of the weapons control system (SUV), the best speed, altitude and maneuverability characteristics, but is somewhat inferior to its American rival in terms of "combat load / range".

      So say our aviation experts

The combat radius of the MIG 27K is more than 100 km greater than that of the F / A-18E / F Super Hornet without PTB, and the combat load is greater as it is + fuel tanks, about the range: the MIGA with PTB and without them is getting too early.

        According to Wikipedia.

I completely agree with you, the machine turned out to be extremely successful, and I suspect that until the end of its characteristics and capabilities are not known.

They have an interesting "stealth", in this miraculous container they made sawtooth edges of the doors, and the edges of the landing gear doors remained what they were ... if we do "stealth", so everywhere to the maximum, within the framework of the existing design, of course. And with these overhead tanks, in general, they made a slab of some kind from an already ugly aircraft ...

Here it is, here it is the fish of my dreams !!! I mean, here it is the plane that the US Air Force needs, Fuflo-35 is expensive and useless, Khryaptor is useful but even more expensive, and the veterans of the F-15 and F-16 are already worn out ... Well, the "trend" of hanging conformal tanks suggests that that the staff of the state made mistakes even in the design of the aircraft and are now frantically trying to cram the unpushable. laughing

They found a file for the campaign ... smile With the 5-m generation somehow it doesn’t work out that way, so they decided to finish the 4-e. Which is generally correct.

Strange logic. Why then did our 4 ++ do it simultaneously with the 5th, like they immediately realized that 5 wouldn’t work? Now when they will buy these new efics, then you can talk about something, and, IMHO, they are going to push for export.

Strange logic. Why then did our 4 ++ do at the same time as the 5, like immediately realized that 5 would not work?

Why so strange? The Americans launched the F-22 in a series when the aircraft was not fully tested and finalized. Yes, it always happens with new equipment, but the cost ... Result: production of F-22 is stopped.
F-35, as it were, flies, but Nizenko, not far, but in good weather. And what we see ... Again let in a series !! Are they in the pleasure of stepping on the same rake? But at least they saw that there was no end to finishing the 35, they started to modernize the old ones, to see there are smart people there.

Ours do 4 ++ simultaneously with 5, because they clearly understand:
        1. The fleet of planes inherited from the USSR is small and some of the aircraft flying now will in the near future work out their resources - they must be changed.
        2. Those that fly will upgrade and extend the resource until the 20 year.
        3. But the 5 will just go into the series for the 20 year, as a tried and tested device (I hope so).

And the concepts are different - the Americans wanted to make a universal aircraft out of Raptor, it didn’t work out, it’s expensive. And the 35 isn’t pulling on the universal, so they made three (and now two) options on the same platform.
Yes, and it seems Americans are betting on drones. Manned - this is so, the second wave.

The F / A-18E / F is a very serious aircraft, although not as publicized as the F-16. So the decision is expected and not casual at all in Battlefield 3, the amers have a "super-top". Looks like the F-35, even in game development, does not channel. :-D

Strange, to put it mildly, comments, that is, when I upgrade the Su and MiG to the tenth "+" - it's cool, and when the F-18 - firewood ...
And you carefully read again: "The machine is equipped with overhead conformal fuel tanks on the fuselage, a special ventral suspension container for placing guided weapons, as well as a new retractable optoelectronic turret in the lower nose of the fuselage" and be sad that this is not on Russian machines! !!
And as an attack aircraft, the F / A-18 is a great machine ...
