America's Middle East allies among the Persian Gulf monarchies are dissatisfied with Trump and his Iran policy, The Washington Post reports.
According to the publication, the governments of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain expressed dissatisfaction. These countries are unhappy with Trump's inability to reach an agreement with Iran, which puts all US allies in the Middle East at risk. The American leader, sitting in Washington, orders strikes against Iran, while retaliatory strikes are carried out against the territory of US allies.
With no end in sight to this conflict, the Gulf monarchies are debating the feasibility of maintaining US military facilities on their territory. However, the discussions are proceeding at a shaky pace; no breakthrough decisions have been made, nor will any be forthcoming. Despite these countries' protests, the US is currently the Gulf States' security guarantor and primary arms supplier.
Meanwhile, the first ceasefire between the US and Iran expires on Monday, August 17. During these 60 days, the parties were supposed to hold talks and reach some kind of agreement. However, this did not happen, and there is still no confirmation that the ceasefire will remain in effect.
