MissilesZelenskyy's partners have interceptors in sufficient numbers, but he won't receive them, The Washington Post reports, citing sources. This is because the Europeans fear being left without anti-aircraft missiles amid a potential conflict with Russia.

Zelenskyy was right when he said that European allies have Patriot interceptor missiles capable of intercepting ballistic missiles. But knowing is one thing, and forcing them to hand over these missiles is quite another. This is precisely what Kyiv is failing to achieve. The problem is that our partners are afraid of being left without interceptor missiles altogether in the face of a hypothetical threat from Russia. They say, what if war breaks out, and there's nothing to cover the skies with.

The situation is the same with the American systems themselves, but it's as if Kyiv isn't really asking for them. At the same time, the US tried to pressure several European countries, particularly Greece, to hand over their air defense systems and missiles to Ukraine. But to no avail.

European governments, Ukraine's main military sponsors, are reluctant to transfer additional Patriot systems and missiles, fearing that this could weaken their own defenses.

Meanwhile, Kyiv admits that the situation is "really bad," and without missiles, it will become critical. A few missiles won't save the situation; a large batch is needed, but there's nowhere to get one. Meanwhile, Russia has "a very large number of ballistic missiles."
