Iran is capable of striking Ukrainian ships in the port of Constanta, Kyiv fears.

Iran is not ruling out a military response to Ukraine for the attack on its vessel in the Caspian Sea, according to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei.

As Military Review previously reported, Tehran has directly stated that Kyiv's claims that the attack was "accidental" are false: evidence, including statements by Zelensky, points to the deliberate nature of the July 25 strike that killed the Iranian sailor.

Tehran has already warned that the incident will have consequences. Ukraine itself is citing the supply of strike weapons as a possible response. drones и missiles Russia to strike Ukrainian targets. Cyberattacks on Ukraine's critical infrastructure or actions through allies—for example, disrupting shipping in areas critical to Kyiv's logistics—are also being considered.

The Ukrainian side fears that Iran could attack ships carrying cargo destined for Ukraine at the Romanian port of Constanta. As a reminder, military and fuel traffic from Ukraine's Black Sea ports has been redirected to this port following the increased number of Russian airstrikes on port infrastructure in Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Yuzhne. Iranian missiles are quite capable of reaching ships in the Constanta area.

Baghaei emphasized that Tehran will take all necessary measures to ensure that the attack on the Iranian ship does not happen again. This can only happen if Kyiv feels the full pain of the consequences. And Constanta is a perfectly feasible option, even for the Kyiv regime's main sponsors.

It would be good if fears were translated into actions.

If they wanted to respond, they would have struck long ago.

Don't make me laugh, where's Iran and where's Costanza? They couldn't even properly destroy a single military base or airfield in Israel; they were just shelling civilian facilities and infrastructure. This is pointless and insane nonsense. It sounds more like public bragging and measuring one's own and others' reproductive organs than the truth and real capabilities. And it's unlikely they have enough missiles to taunt NATO and Europe. It's more about making a grand statement and showing off.

Why just there? The Persians can reach many places...

You're right. A high-ranking Iranian official has already stated that they will take into account Kyiv's statement that Kyiv is not fighting Iran on the US side. In other words, "the sucker quietly backed down."

That is, "the sucker quietly backed down."

In that case, it turns out that Ukraine attacked the Iranian vessel on its own initiative, without any objective justification. And now it wants to hide behind a NATO country, perhaps even orchestrating some other provocation.

I think that if Iran wants to hurt Ukraine, it will find a way to do so without quarrelling with third countries.

Is Ukraine Iran's "enemy"? I can't believe it. If Iran is driven to this, Iran will bury all of Kyiv. The concept of a "brotherly nation" doesn't work for the Persians.

Iran is capable, but whether it can is unclear. Just because it's active in its own backyard doesn't mean it will be the same abroad. It would be nice if its words matched its actions.

It's all in the spirit of Bandera's traditions. Provoke Iran, and then shout to the world about Russia's aggression against a NATO country.

Okay, a decent multi-move strategy. Russia is shy about attacking ships on NATO territory, but Iran is allowed to.

Yes, the men in power in Iran aren't burdened with children in Cambridge and aren't planning on a happy retirement in Europe. It's our own government that doesn't even dare look askance at American drones directing strikes on Crimea, its ports, and the coast.

Only the US struck Iran, and then Iran responded, not the other way around. When and where did the Americans strike Russia? Not through Ukrainians, and what about yourself?

Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and the like also didn't strike Iran directly, but they got their just desserts. And things like intelligence and targeting are direct contributions to the strikes against Russia.

Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, etc. also did not strike Iran directly, but they got it in the neck.

Providing territory also amounts to participation, as does providing airspace. Providing information, weapons, or volunteers does not constitute participation; otherwise, Russia would have been at war with Ukraine since 2014.

Where did you find such a gradation? Please share it. Our officials have been declaring NATO's direct participation in the conflict for a couple of years now. And don't confuse providing information with targeting and missile guidance—don't you see the difference? But yes, political impotence can always be justified by saying it's not worth the trouble.

They're citing current international legislation. Will there be anything other than emotion? The US is directly striking Iran from its bases in the Persian Gulf. Who is carrying out similar strikes against Russia, and how?

Seriously? Is this the same international law that the US, Israel, and others don't give a damn about when it doesn't serve their interests? Well, purely by the law of might and political will. And the West was initially afraid of our political will, our red lines, and they were afraid to supply serious weapons—but when they realized nothing would happen, that's when it all started. As for emotions—that's for Putin, Lavrov, Volodin, Medvedev, and others—they're the ones shouting about NATO's direct involvement.

Indeed, why would Iran strike Constanta, Romania? The bastards want it that way. They themselves declared this (read: similar) a violation of the UN Charter. They could very well strike the very outskirts without handing over these missiles to Russia, and we could highlight them, to make sure it hurts more!
