A former Ukrainian MP says 20 special forces soldiers were killed in the Khmelnytskyi arsenal explosion.

Details continue to emerge about the major explosion at a Ukrainian Special Operations Forces warehouse in Khmelnytskyi on July 31. Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Ihor Mosiychuk*, citing his sources, stated that the incident was 100% sabotage.

According to Mosiychuk*, the secret shipment of ammunition for Ukrainian troops was delivered to the facility just 24 hours before the disaster, allowing its movement to be tracked. He also reported significant personnel losses – approximately 20 Special Operations Forces personnel were killed, and all survivors were ordered to remain silent under threat of strict liability.
Ukrainian officials cite different figures. The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine confirmed that four servicemen were wounded and that contact with several soldiers was lost. The head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Tyurin, clarified that the munitions' dispersion radius reached one kilometer, damaging residential buildings and infrastructure.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has not commented on the situation. However, Russian media reported massive strikes on rear-area facilities, including military depots in Khmelnytskyi where NATO bombs were stored. Ukrainian law enforcement has not yet officially identified the cause of the explosion, but a criminal case has been opened for violating regulations for handling weapons.
