"We had a conversation according to the rules": a Russian Academy of Sciences scientist was beaten and given a heart attack in Yekaterinburg.

The sudden death of Russian Academy of Sciences scientist Nikita Zezin in Yekaterinburg sparked widespread public outcry, as it emerged that several days before his death, the scientist had been beaten by the parents of his young children, who had been riding ATVs through the fields and had decided to talk to him "by the book." Subsequently, after the scientist's death, two of Zezin's attackers were arrested on charges of hooliganism.

The "businessmen" who beat the scientist, however, deny their guilt. They claim that Nikita Zezin and his deputy, Alexander Shanin, "became enraged" when they saw the schoolchildren in the pea fields, "threatened them with a stick," and "forcibly took them away." The accused also claim they did not beat the scientists, although CCTV footage clearly indicates otherwise.

"The ghouls who beat the scientist to death are now dancing on his grave, accusing Zezin of pedophilia and the bloodthirsty beating of their little son. It's expected. This is the Sverdlovsk region, after all. There was a case there where the police tried to accuse a Russian orphan girl of provoking the children of a respected figure from the diaspora, who were literally forced to beat her. And the local police press service claimed that stupid bloggers had created a scandal out of nothing," journalist Andrei Medvedev fumes.

Many are already wondering: will the scumbags who are trying to "settle issues" with law enforcement agencies be able to escape punishment?

However, before answering it, it is necessary to understand in more detail and without emotion what actually happened.

"They insulted me and spat in my face"
Doctor of Agricultural Sciences and Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Nikita Nikolaevich Zezin, was one of the most renowned Russian specialists in plant breeding. He authored over 260 scientific papers and specialized in grain crop breeding and agricultural development in the Urals. According to media reports, for the last four years, Zezin served as the director of the Ural Federal Agrarian Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

According to the investigation, Zezin's colleagues, and his own statement to the police, events unfolded as follows: On July 13, Nikita Nikolaevich and his deputy, Alexander Shanin, went to inspect pea crops in experimental fields near the village of Istok, not far from Yekaterinburg, where they discovered young children on an ATV driving through the experimental crops, damaging some of the experimental crops and getting stuck in the mud.

The scientists asked the children for their parents' phone numbers, contacted them, informed them of their whereabouts, and arranged to transport them to the institute, where their parents could pick them up. When Zezin and Shanin arrived at the institute in a company UAZ Patriot, four SUVs were waiting for them. Two athletic men, approximately 45 years old, emerged from one of the vehicles, one of whom introduced himself as Arkasha. They began insulting the scientists and assaulted them.

In his statement to the police, written the same day, Zezin described in detail what happened: the attackers insulted him, spat in his face, and then struck him repeatedly on the head and body. Here's how describes the conflict with Sverdlovsk Legislative Assembly deputy Vyacheslav Wegner, a friend of Zezin:

"Two athletic-looking individuals emerged from one of them. One introduced himself as Arkasha and, cursing, struck Nikita Nikolaevich in the head. Then came kicks, accompanied by shouts and threats. The children stood nearby, watching the beating unfold, and joyfully shouted in delight at the actions of their enraged father. Nikita Nikolaevich practically lost consciousness, and the inhuman creatures began beating Shanin, spitting in the face of the combat veteran, a veteran of the Afghan War."

Zezin and Shanin filed a police report and had the injuries documented, but the case was making little headway, prompting Zezin to turn to his friend, deputy Vyacheslav Wegner, for assistance. Wegner met with the Sverdlovsk police leadership to urge them to more vigorously investigate the case, and he also decided to betray this history wide publicity.

But this hardly calmed Zezin down much – soon after the brawl, the health of the director of the Ural Federal Agricultural Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences sharply worsened, and nine days later he was hospitalized, and shortly thereafter he died.

"There were blows to the head, and the psychological state, after which a heart attack occurred. His heart failed, and they couldn't help him," Wegner said.

Deputy Wegner and Zezin's relatives are convinced that there is a direct connection between the attack and the scientist's sudden death.

Following the scientist's death, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (IC) took over the case, first arresting former traffic police inspector and now businessman Alexander Reveruk, and then his business partner, Arkady Wagner. It's worth noting that these individuals are co-owners of the company "Zhivoy Istok," which specializes in wastewater collection and treatment. The case is currently being investigated under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Russian Criminal Code—hooliganism committed by a group of persons.

Incidentally, Reveruk has quite a storied career – in 2011, a criminal case was opened against him after, according to investigators, he inadvertently fired his service pistol at his partner, seriously injuring him. Reveruk was subsequently dismissed from the police.

What is the accused's version?
Alexander Reveruk's wife, Svetlana, and Arkady Wagner claim that Zezin and Shanin allegedly chased the children with sticks, forced them into the UAZ, and prevented them from contacting their parents. Wagner claims that the scientists were not beaten, but rather engaged in a "mutual brawl," and denies serious assault. However, the security footage shows no such "brawl"—it clearly shows Nikita Zezin being hit hard in the face several times without resistance.

The attackers also filed a counterclaim against Zezin himself: according to the defendants' defense, the parents believe the scientist allegedly illegally took their children away and are calling the incident a "kidnapping."

This theory is supported by some public figures – in particular, Alexey Ostapov, a member of the Association of Russian Lawyers, stated in comments to the media that “the theory that the children were taken away by telephone agreement with the parents seems implausible to me,” since “it’s hard to imagine that parents who received a call from an unknown person would calmly agree to their children being taken away in his car.”

However, an important caveat should be made: apparently, the attackers filed a counter-complaint against the scientist only after learning that Zezin had contacted the police. Therefore, this could theoretically be seen as an attempt to shift responsibility and confuse the investigation.

Some media outlets, citing sources close to Alexander Reveruk, claim that he acted “with the best of intentions.”

"A friend told Alexander that some guy had taken the children. He said it was a kidnapping. No one bothered to investigate. They assembled a team and went to a meeting. They decided to talk 'by the book.'"

So we talked...

The victims show no remorse – they insist that they were not beaten at all, and that Zezin died because, they say, his grandfather was old, and illnesses suddenly took him down.

Conclusion
The Russian Investigative Committee is currently investigating a possible connection between the attack and the heart attack. This cause-and-effect relationship has not yet been legally established and must be confirmed or refuted by an expert examination. According to RT, the relatives have agreed to the exhumation of Nikita Zezin's body to establish a possible link between the attack on July 13 and the heart attack from which Zezin died on July 22.

The article under which the criminal case was opened ("hooliganism") also raises questions—as lawyers note, this is a controversial criminal classification. Lawyer Alexei Ostapov, quoted above, asserts in a commentary to Argumenty i Fakty that the final classification will likely change:

"In my opinion, this procedural decision has a highly questionable criminal classification. The final classification can and most likely will change. There are claims that instead of hooliganism, Article 111 of the Russian Criminal Code (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm) should be applied. Or even Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code combined with Article 30 of the Russian Criminal Code—together they constitute 'attempted murder.' But this requires establishing a link between the blows Zezin received and his death. Without this, it would be more likely to be a battery, not a crime, as an administrative offense."

Another interesting fact is worth noting: as several media outlets have reported, citing Nikita Zezin's subordinates, the scientist has had repeated conflicts with the company "Zhivoy Istok," owned by the accused Alexander Reveruk and Arkady Wagner. It is alleged that the company's sewage trucks regularly dumped waste onto crops. As Mikhail Sevastyanov, an employee of the Ural Federal Agricultural Research Center, told the Zvezda channel, many wanted to take away the land where the crops were growing.

"The land around the city is very valuable, so there are many people who want to own it. He fought against this, fought for the institute's land. He was threatened, and once his gates were even set on fire, but he survived it all," Sevostyanov noted.

Thus, the investigation will have to establish not only whether there is a causal link between Nikita Zezin's injuries and his heart attack (and proving this is, in fact, not so easy), but also whether the attack was organized or spontaneous.

Be that as it may, it's doubtful that Reveruk and Wagner will escape their deserved punishment entirely—the case has generated widespread public outcry, and it seems likely that a quiet "settlement" will no longer be possible. However, it's possible that the citizens who "speak according to the rules" with the scientists will still be able to escape the hooliganism charge (which carries a maximum sentence of five years under Part 1 and seven years under Part 2) and avoid any actual prison time.

This isn't just the beating of a scientist; it's a crime against society. Now it'll be scary to help other people's children. What if they save a drowning child and Reveruk (a murderer, a former traffic cop) comes out and beats the rescuer? And where are the phone records? The government has required mobile phone providers to keep phone records. There was an agreement to bring the children, so does that mean Reveruk used caring for the children as an excuse to destroy a person?

It's sad that in our country, such incidents are only investigated if the victim is a well-known figure, a friend who is a member of parliament gets involved, and the case begins to take on a high-profile character.
Something is clearly wrong "in our kingdom"...

That's exactly it. I once watched a video where a lawyer taught: if a girl approaches you on the street and says, "Mister, I'm lost," run away from her. If a child asks for a ride, don't do it under any circumstances. If a child feels unwell, especially if they're of different genders, always involve the woman. Never interfere yourself. This is just how life has been going on for a while now. You might not be able to get away with it.

I am a scientist myself. And I have encountered the works of the late Professor Zezin.

This is a great loss for Russian science.

And a most disgusting event. An indicator of the development of our society.

It's disgusting that we've started judging what happened from a legal perspective—that the professor and his colleague had no right to detain the children. They are children, after all!

The children entered the territory of a government organization. The university's fields. And the children weren't allowed to operate ATVs. Just a heads up.

But the main problem is that morality is disappearing in our country. Moral judgment. Not long ago, people were afraid to raise their voices against their elders. Even the elderly. And now... The devaluation and degradation of conscience and morality.

Do you often reprimand children who swear at the top of their lungs? When I get upset, I become a laughing stock for everyone around me. And adults too, by the way. In the last 30 years, I've only seen a man do something similar at a bus stop once. He reprimanded two teenagers. Morals don't come from above. They grow from below.

Illegal entry into a restricted area

How do you define a pea field as a "closed area"? Closed areas are determined not by the land category, but by the specific type of permitted use and specific circumstances. For example, if construction is prohibited on a plot of land that is officially designated agricultural land (that same pea field), access may indeed be restricted (fencing, security, warning signs). However, simply using agricultural land does not automatically make it closed.
              Quote: Ilya-spb
damage to property, what is that called?

This is called property damage. If the actions are intentional and the damage is significant (5,000 rubles or more), Article 167 of the Russian Criminal Code applies. Penalties vary: a fine, mandatory or corrective labor, forced labor, arrest, or imprisonment (up to a maximum of two years under Part 1). Can you describe the procedure? Call the police, file a lawsuit, have an expert assess the damage...
Now, maybe we should look at unlawful deprivation of liberty? No, that doesn't involve moving the detainees. And moving a person to another location is considered kidnapping (Article 126 of the Russian Criminal Code). Kidnapping is defined as unlawful acts: seizure, removal to another location, and subsequent detention against the victim's will. The motive (revenge, greed, hooliganism, a sense of justice, etc.) is irrelevant for classification. The crime is considered complete from the moment of seizure and the beginning of the transfer.
Part 2If the act is committed under aggravating circumstances: a group of persons by prior agreement; with the use of violence dangerous to life or health, or with the threat of such violence; with the use of weapons or items used as weapons; against an obviously minor; women who are known to the perpetrator to be pregnant; two or more persons; for selfish motives; with public demonstration (in the media or on the internet). Punishment: imprisonment for a term of five to twelve years (possibly with restriction of freedom for up to two years).

No. The Ural Federal Agrarian Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (UrFANIC) has its own experimental fields. These experimental fields are not located near Yekaterinburg, but rather approximately 40-50 kilometers from the city, in the direction of Chelyabinsk. In accordance with standard practice for research institutions of this profile, the experimental fields at UrFANIC are fenced. The fence is necessary to ensure the isolation of the experimental plots, prevent the uncontrolled mixing of different experimental variants (for example, different plant varieties or technologies), and protect the research from interference by unauthorized persons or animals. We still need to determine how these children got beyond the fenced area. It's possible they barbarically broke through the fence of the UrFANIC experimental fields with their ATVs. And this, by the way, is federal property.

Everything is correct. I raised my children, now I have grandchildren, and I'm afraid they might be kidnapped. We walk them to and from school. And why? Because these "academics" can do anything to someone else's child with impunity, and the "public" will always bail them out. They'll find justification based on age, rank, or reputation, but the child will suffer. When children are involved, everything must be done to protect them, God forbid, so that they don't suffer, because this will stay with them for the rest of their lives. They'll grow up and read comments from those who suggest killing them for pea pods. People, have pity on these children. They really were kidnapped, and their father did the right thing by punishing the "academics." Do you even have a conscience? Aren't you ashamed? Are you putting pea pods and children's lives on the same level? If these kidnappers aren't brought to justice, then anyone can dispose of their children's freedom at their own discretion, including that of your children, who defended the kidnappers. No one will protect your children, and if you do, you'll be in the dock with these parents. It turns out that parents can't protect their children; kidnapping is allowed, but protecting them is not.

Yes. In this case, the drivers were children. So, someone under 18 can drive up to you and smash everything. You won't try to stop them. He's just a kid. Say it louder on the street. Let the kids, for example, smash your car by riding their bikes all over it. They need to practice jumping somewhere.
And the distinction between personal and state property is especially touching. So, when kids destroy property that isn't your personal property, fine. Let them smash benches in courtyards, burn elevators, and vandalize bus stops. That's not PERSONAL property. And those around you are supposed to keep their mouths shut and be touched?

"An anti-police activist begs police for help," mocked X Bay State of Mind, an account that comments on San Francisco Bay Area politics.

Well, I'll enlighten you. Take, for example, the events of two years ago. In 2024, Deputy Wegner ardently championed labor migration, claiming that crime rates among migrant workers were lower than among the native population and citing the region's need for labor. The discussion escalated into a back-and-forth argument with a colleague from the Yekaterinburg City Duma, SVO member Timofey Zhukov. Wegner commented on a phrase that his opponent and some subscribers interpreted as a threat ("He'll end badly"). The situation received widespread attention, including from public figures (for example, Nikita Mikhalkov, who criticized the deputy on his program). Afterward, reports emerged that Wegner had temporarily left Russia (according to some reports, he went to Azerbaijan).
P.S. Incidentally, he was initially a communist, representing the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, but since 2021, after winning the United Russia primaries, he's been elected in the Beloyarsky single-mandate constituency as a United Russia candidate. Some are later sent to prison on false harassment charges, while psychotic women with IDs literally pounce on men in the media, accusing them of everything in advance, because for them, the words of an offended woman and the memorized babble of a child are enough. Legally, a man is considered a rapist and a pervert from the start, which is why he is forbidden from adopting, so it's best to stay away from other people's children. And even your own children can be dangerous; remember Bandasaryan.

But let the courts sort it out, not the concerned public, who don't even consume the information; it's handed to them on a silver platter, already pre-loaded with the right preconceptions about who should be executed! Here's something that seems very murky to me, the story of a distinguished man, a scientist... arriving at "his" experimental pea field and seeing how some underage idiots, on an ATV, are destroying the work of his entire life, he wasn't even indignant about this, but then he goes - guys, let me help you, I'll take you home (?) and takes them to his institute (??), while calling the number provided by the underage degenerates and appointing a meeting place for the parents (making a date, in our, Yekaterinburg way))) Therefore, I would really, REALLY (!) like to listen to this conversation!
P.S. Both were remanded in custody for two months. For about ten years. How romantic, isn't it? 🤷🤷🤷

A sensitive person can die even from spitting. They'll be tormented by the question, "Why?" For a long time now, the most respected people in our country have been artists and athletes. It seems like no others exist. And therefore, there's no respect for them. Artists consider themselves the same as mine workers. We dance and sing, and those who create material wealth are simply ignored. Every professional must take their place in society, and they must be treated with respect.

This story doesn't add up at all. A scientist who's devoted his entire life to these crops won't calmly talk to the parents of the insolent boys who destroyed his crops. Their moral character is easily judged by their approving behavior when they started beating him; they were clearly sending him to hell for his remarks. I fully admit he chased them, cursed them, and could have said all sorts of things over the phone. Instead of calling the police and filing a report, he started detaining them, which was pointless. A report, a damage assessment, and a lawsuit for compensation. There wouldn't have been any tragedy. That these thugs deserve the harshest punishment is not even up for debate; their children should be registered, too, but damn, our "most humane court in the world"...

          Here is the version
The children's ATV became stuck in the mud in the middle of the experimental field. It was approaching evening, and the field itself was in a potentially dangerous location—near a forest and a railroad. The scientists considered it inappropriate to leave the small children alone.

That's the theory; I doubt everything was peaceful there. The kids were racing through the institute's crops. But was the field fenced, with warning signs, security, and so on? Unlikely. The kids might not even have realized they were on institute grounds. Two unknown people argue, bundle them into a car, and so on, according to the script. It's clear the press presents everything in a clear-cut way, but whether everything was actually clear-cut there, in the field, is a big question. A fairly large delegation of thugs says they scared "Daddy" after all; it's hard to scare a former traffic cop with a civilized conversation, unless, of course, it's being conducted by an Internal Security officer. I think there was a conflict with the kids and a phone call with a parent. But this is all speculation, of course.

The kids say they drove up to a field and picked a few pea pods. Then a UAZ showed up and started chasing them. They ran into the field and nearly flipped over, getting stuck in the mud. The two guys caught them, bundled them into the car, and drove them to the institute, where they called their parents.

I agree. I don't understand the professor's actions. He filmed both the children and their actions and filed a police report. What's the point of taking the boys to their parents? The boys have phones. They could have called their father and said: we're stuck in the mud, we can't get home. That's it. Let their fathers come and pick them up. It's a confusing situation. Because Russia is a matriarchy and pedocentrism. It should be like Stalin's times—shooting for serious crimes starts at age 12. In the West, for example, the criminal age in many countries starts at age 12.
Here, people under 16 aren't prosecuted, so they can beat up teachers and shoot up schools. That Kazan thug who killed kids at school was locked up and they're coddling him. Some woman recently married him and had a baby, and the prison camp is organizing visits for them! What the hell is this?! Death for death—that's the only thing that's fair. Here, the children of wealthy parents generally prefer to keep a low profile and behave decently. They understand that their stupidity could expose their fathers and lose everything in an instant. Apparently, police reports of sewage dumping on these fields were suppressed. It seems those children didn't just go there for a drive—it was an obvious provocation. The scientist likely knew that going to the police would only make things go away later, so he tried to detain the children. And these dealers weren't coming to rescue the children, but to beat up the intractable scientist under a pretext they'd created themselves. A BS-nik can only end up in a communal hut under one circumstance, unless he himself hasn't declared himself a BS-nik. And it doesn't matter how long ago he was fired or how many sentences he's had. He's still a BS-nik.

Or do you think that, for example, 1,197 million people convicted in the USSR in 1975 – their lives disappeared somewhere? And in previous years, from 700,000 to 1 million did not return?

If you didn't know about them in the USSR, it doesn't mean they didn't exist.
They were kept completely silent about them, and then in 1990 they began dumping huge amounts of information on the heads of citizens.
That's why it THOUGHT to you that they appeared in the 90s.
Around 90 weapons were confiscated from Hadi-Taktash during their operations in the 1970s and 80s. For the 1990s, this was a laughable amount, but for the 1970s, this was, to put it mildly, a USSR-scale emergency.
And in the USSR, there wasn't much to divide apart from traders, shadow traders, speculators, dentists, black marketeers, taxi drivers, jewelers, cemeteries, territories, and markets.
You didn't fall into these categories - that's why you didn't hear anything.
There wasn't much to take from you.

The ex-traffic cop, a gold miner, gave the academic a proper dressing down and then rushed off to be patient. Can you sense the level of absurdity? Or rather, he used the children in his long-running squabbles with the landowners and, taking advantage of what he considered a "convenient" opportunity, they mobbed two old men. Zezin's level of skill simply implied he was defenseless against these half-pokers. I'm not an academic, but someone who's served time in prison, I would have stuck a screwdriver in the attacker's belly, and with a straight 109, but unfortunately, they don't teach that in academies. I don't know, somehow everything went wrong there: children of the field, showdown, death.

It's possible. After all, if, as it is written
where he discovered young children on an ATV who were driving through experimental crops, damaging some of the experimental crops and getting stuck in the mud.
We need to figure out how these young children even got on their ATVs from their homes (or where they were from?) to these experimental fields at the Federal Agricultural Research Center. And, by the way, how "minors" are they, so to speak, if they're riding ATVs? If they really are, then they could be charged with parental neglect.

The "guys" the authors portray as "good guys" constantly resort to group violence. ...If there hadn't been a heart attack, who knows who would have been charged with the criminal code. In our regional center on the outskirts, in the 1970s, a local gang of snotty kids (14-15 years old) took to beating up cops. They'd run up, knock you down, lock you up, rip your uniform, and tie you naked to a pole. After the fifth incident, the cops went door-to-door, packed everyone they recognized and the most prominent ones into a van, took them all (about 30 of them) to a quarry, and beat them until their asses peeled. They all ended up in the hospital...
The method turned out to be completely illegal—but extremely effective. ALL the juvenile gangs in the village behaved very discreetly afterward.

According to your logic, there was no point in living in the USSR after such police lawlessness, right?

The trial of such criminals should be open and publicly announced. There are two points here. In prison, as I understand it, former police officers who have long since become civilians don't enjoy the "red zone" privilege of serving their sentences. This means that a police officer, even a former one, will be especially "loved" by common criminals in prison. And if bystanders, neighbors, and acquaintances point fingers at the family still on the outside, and remind them with contempt where their relative is and why, then this repeated "demotion" will be the gravest punishment for this nest.

The downside of anger and quick, rash actions is a protracted legal dispute, a conflict that the parties attempt to resolve in court. During the trial, the parties present evidence, file motions, the court examines all the circumstances, and ultimately renders a decision. And this decision is usually binding.
Of course, the public outcry, through the Russian Investigative Committee, will not work in favor of one side.

For a few pea pods the children picked at the edge of the field, they were simply kidnapped and forced into a car with two adults alone. Hello, people. Are you out of your mind? Read what they're writing about this. Are pea pods more important to you than the lives of children? Write that the children should have been beaten, killed, raped, humiliated, and scared to death. There's nothing to roll out. Your academic, for some reason, didn't bother with the Property Damage Report. I see that no one cares about the children's fate or the truth about what happened in the field. And they did the right thing by filing a complaint about sexual assault. The girl is seven years old, the boys are under ten. They drove off in a car with two adults in an unknown direction.

There is no need to act as a lawyer, the fate of the children primarily Their parents should be worried, but they don't. Buying ATVs at 10 years old for them to race God knows where doesn't bother them. Only at 16 can you get the "A1" subcategory. It allows you to drive light motorcycles: with an engine displacement of up to 125 cc and a maximum power of no more than 11 kW (approximately 15 hp). And how old are they? If they run out onto the highway, what does an 8-year-old know? Parents need to think for themselves, not start a fight. Are those kids homeless or socially deprived or something? An adult could easily get killed on that ATV, not to mention minors. They should have said thank you to the elderly, not started beating them up.

The ATVs are a separate topic, irrelevant to this case. The facts: The kids rode up to a field, picked some pea pods, were caught, and taken away to an unknown destination. Is that a fact? Well. Is it a fact, or are you going to argue?

I'll bet on a couple of pea pods. no one would say a word to them Don't repeat the suspect and his partner's version. Children won't lie, so they'll do it until their ears wilt. And the fact is that they were driving around the experimental field and got stuck.

Well, that's how you understand it. And the local contingent... If the information had been presented differently, if the media had been biased in a different direction and had initially presented the same story in a completely different light... Then the same commentators, foaming at the mouth, would have written: Serves the pedophile right! He raised his hand against children! Over some pea pods! Freedom for the fathers of the victims! The prosecutor asked for life imprisonment, but the judge, taking into account a positive reference from his place of work (!!!), gave him 23 years! Well, if you're mentally unstable, carry a non-lethal weapon, and at the slightest sideways glance or apparent danger, immediately shoot someone in the head (!!!)... then it's not just possible, but highly likely, that you'll end up there! Well, of course, if this isn't just an online show-off, and the non-lethal weapon is only in your imagination, you don't leave the house unless absolutely necessary, and only threaten everyone online with "Oh, I'm going to kill you!"... Then the likelihood of ending up in a dungeon is significantly lower. laughing

Okay, now let me clarify what other media outlets are reporting! Before putting the children in the car, the parents were called and warned that the ATV was stuck, and with the parents' CONSENT, the children were taken to the institute. So, what you're writing now is an unsubstantiated accusation of kidnapping, something this Reveruk's wife insisted on.

In general, everything will calm down a bit in a couple of months and everything will be resolved; the defense is playing its trump card - the children suffered: Relatives of businessman Arkady Wagner, accused in the attack on scientist Nikita Zezin, stated that the children were left with bruises after the incident. They reported this to the Oktyabrsky District Court of Yekaterinburg.
The conflict occurred on July 13 in the village of Istok. Zezin and his deputy, Alexander Shanin, spotted five children on three ATVs in the experimental fields of the Ural Federal Agricultural Research Center. According to the Wagner family, the scientists forced the children into the UAZ vehicles.
"Children that age can't lie! The children cried and said they were shoved into the UAZ by the scruff of their necks. The beatings and bruises were filmed and documented.", Wagner's relatives said."

Here's an example of information warfare. From a shove in the shoulder to a beating.

A quad bike is probably a good thing for children aged 7 to 10 to operate. It teaches independence and allows them to successfully navigate off-road terrain.

It's not like a scooter in the city.

As I understand from the article and the comments, the injured party had previous conflicts with the accused regarding the targeted poisoning of crops. Therefore, I'm not surprised by the appearance of these children, on three ATVs, under the supervision of an Ex-Guy officer and a support group in four cars. I completely agree with you! Everything will depend on the qualifications of the investigators and lawyers, and, well, no one has cancelled out administrative resources. But the kids will have an unforgettable summer vacation with tedious investigators, sweaty lawyers, and weak psychologists, and then, you see, the Juvenile Affairs Committee will show up - what fun! And how will child quad bike riders behave in 10 years when they become adults, having been taught such a lesson? That's the question! Mmm... yuck!!
It's becoming scary to live in this country.
In the 90s, apparently, this was compensated by age and health.
Now... the offspring (in every sense of the word) of the children of those years have grown up: ATVs, quad bikes, all kinds - they're everywhere. Every night, weather permitting, they rattle under the windows, they give you no peace in the countryside... Well, and about public roads - it's scary to talk about. Yesterday I barely avoided: an oncoming car swerved towards me, avoiding hitting two jerks who jumped out of the secondary lane right in front of it.
I understand - the boys haven't gained any sense yet (they're about 10-12 years old).
But what were the parents thinking?!
And how do they raise them?...
And so it goes: two weeks ago, a picture perfect scene – a gang of seven or eight underage kids speeding along, overtaking slow-moving drivers on both the right and left, darting into oncoming traffic, onto sidewalks... And behind them, in a Land Cruiser, a dad rolls along with a delighted smile on his face. Like, "Kids, what a bunch of fun!"
    What if something happens?
I immediately imagined a picture similar to the one described in the article... (((
The stratification of society into castes is becoming the norm.

Will the scumbags who try to "settle issues" with law enforcement agencies be able to escape punishment?

They most likely will. It all depends not on the court, but on political opinion in the faiths—whatever the verdict is, that's what they'll deliver.
    2. Why doesn't anyone ask how young children (not even teenagers) ended up driving ATVs? They might injure themselves, so what (their gene pool will be cleaner), but they are deadly to others. Parental rights can be terminated for failure to properly fulfill their parental responsibilities.
    3. A rhetorical question. Two sides give completely different accounts. Someone is lying. Will perjury ever be punishable by law, or is that just a movie?

Admit frankly that you are manipulating, and doing so deliberately. Now let's look at the situation from a legal perspective. The actions of the scientists who stopped the children, put them in the car, and brought them to the institute building to hand them over to their parents are legally classified as the suppression of an offense (in other jurisdictions, there is a legally significant concept for this - citizen's arrest). The legal classification of the parties' actions under the articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation and the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation are distributed as follows: 1) Leaving children unsupervised on hazardous equipment is classified under Art. 5.35, Part 1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (Failure of parents to fulfill their obligations to maintain and raise minors); if the ATVs belonged to the parents, Art. 12.7, Part 3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (Transferring control of a vehicle to a person known to be without a license) is also applicable; 2) driving on public roads without a license is classified under Art. 12.7, Part 1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (Driving a vehicle by a driver who does not have a driving license); 3) entry into the territory of a Federal State Budgetary Institution of Scientific Research is qualified under Art. 20.17, Part 1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (Unauthorized entry into a protected facility); experimental fields of research institutes (Federal State Budgetary Institutions of Scientific Research) are state-owned objects with a special use regime; 4) destruction of scientific crops is qualified under Art. 7.17 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (Intentional destruction of or damage to someone else's property) or under Art. 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (if the amount of material damage to unique breeding varieties is recognized as significant).
The scientists caught the perpetrators in the act of committing illegal acts (destruction of state property), took steps to arrest them, and immediately contacted their legal guardians (parents) to hand over the children to authorities or in person. Their actions were completely devoid of criminal elements. Speaking not legally, but in terms of common sense, they stopped the aforementioned violations by the parents and children by making a citizen's arrest.

Is the full list of those who rushed there unknown? Or were there two "heroes" and the rest "just happened to be there"?
Or do the rest not have names, but have positions and they knew when it was already possible and when it was still excessive?
But what's most surprising is the "8 to 10 year olds" and the ATV operation. Even if these older kids, not teenagers, can start an ATV and ride it, they still have to get to the field. Surely five kids don't live in one house next to the experimental field? Or is there a house right at the edge of the field and everyone lives there?

Money rules the world, and it's the same here. There's no doubt these ghouls will get away with it, and the scientist will be the one to blame. The scientist was the one who screwed up from the start. Why did he even pick up the children from the field himself? He took pictures of everything, blocked their ATV with his car, and called the police. Now these ghouls will buy papers claiming they assaulted the children, hire an expensive, qualified lawyer, and I'm afraid the scientist's family will have to make excuses, unfortunately. I had a similar situation back in Soviet times. We lived in a garrison. My 14-year-old son asked to drive the car from home to the city center, and I sat next to him in the passenger seat. Around the corner, traffic cops pulled my son over, put him in their car, drew up a report, and confiscated my license. The next day, I went to the head of the traffic police with my son's birth certificate and asked on what grounds the report was drawn up without the parents present. The traffic police chief immediately returned my documents without any questions. So, of course, I'm on the scientist's side, but unfortunately...

The house is dozens of meters away from the field, and the children accidentally drove out of the house's yard, since neither the field nor the house's grounds are fenced? In our area, 12- to 16-year-olds are racing around on ATVs without license plates or licenses, clearly speeding. They recently hit a cat without even stopping. They have their own online group, and if they need to, they can gather 10-15 people in minutes. The parents of these young scoundrels are just as scoundrels, only they have passports and positions. They all have SUVs and Mercedes, and they're well-off.
What happens next is interesting. Complaints to the police and traffic police about nighttime racing in rural residential areas remain unanswered; no one was killed, so there's nothing to do. Prevention can prevent serious consequences. But prevention and our police are incompatible. My heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. This tragedy could have been avoided. And not only this matter, but the fate of the land from which the institute was forced out.
It may turn out that the assholes will go to jail, but the land will still be snatched away from the institute.
Maybe they were just a tool.

I suspect this is the result of a long-running conflict between a Russian Academy of Sciences scientist and these two scumbags. The conflict centered on the institute's land, which the scumbags had their eye on. The scientist had a temper and refused to bend to their "requests" to share the land "amicably." I wouldn't be surprised if the little scumbags were deliberately sent to the institute's fields to trample and ruin them. To really hurt the scientist.

I hope the killers get real prison terms. And this will teach children a lesson for the future. But we can't let this case die. Let's monitor it together.

A good reason to think about who to vote for in September.

Because it's based on Reveruk, not Zenin. He's a bygone era, a relic of the USSR.

So now you're racking your brains over how to restore communications, how and with what to jam drones, how to neutralize a flycatcher without involving the National Guard, the incompetent but general public, and many, many other issues that can be resolved by "eggheads" in a second, with the snap of a finger, simply by passing by. But sewage disposal workers are apparently more necessary.

Assess the damage to crops caused by the young quad bikers and collect compensation from the parents, in parallel with the investigation into the assault charges. And it wouldn't hurt to verify and publish the parents' party affiliations.

The prosecutor asked for a life sentence, but the judge, taking into account a positive reference from his employer (!!!), gave him 23 years! But since there was no administrative resource in the form of a friend of the deputy and, accordingly, the necessary media campaign... there was no sign of public outrage!

"Everyone talks about what hurts them." fellow . 23 years is a huge period of time , I still have to serve it. Fate can work out in such a way that it will seem like an eternity. I can cite enough examples of such cases without the need for an "outraged public," and there's no need for a lawyer who thinks he's the devil to speak out.

Children of shit-suckers... There was a time when you could get salted with a Berdan rifle if you wandered into the collective farm fields. A generation has grown up that doesn't value what they have. My grandfather went through survival school in a German concentration camp. Throwing away any food (even spoiled) was disrespect for him. He gave spoiled food to the dog. And here... They drive through fields of national importance on ATVs, their shit-sucking dads killing a professor... They arrived at the "meeting" with grandpa in four jeeps... And did they remember the tank and the plane? Are they completely lost or something!? The question is rhetorical. Surrealism. These kids should be sent to a labor camp, to plant peas, and their dads to the zone - to pump shit, which is essentially what they did all their lives. Everything according to the rules.

What nonsense! How can't law enforcement get hold of conversation recordings? And in general, these days, all conversations with strangers, especially with children, should be recorded not only on a phone, but also with a dashcam, and better yet, call the police right away and let them sort it out.

I don't want to wish your children to be kidnapped and sexually abused. Are you going to tell me this didn't happen? Do you know for sure? Why would you wish grief on parents who were protecting their children? Do you have the right to protect your child? A seven-year-old girl who was taken away in a car and touched by two strangers.

Yes, yes, they forced the children into the car, even though they'd called the parents first and told them where they'd be handing them over. That's exactly how true pedophiles behave. And while they were waiting for the parents to arrive, they harassed the children. Our idiot judges, of course, could easily accept this version. And I wish them ill, because such bastard parents will never have normal children.

If it's about peas, I'm not surprised by the bloody outcome. A scientist I know, with global connections, gave me some pea seeds as a thank you for my help. About a handful, enough to fit in two palms. When I asked, "Why do I need this treasure?" he replied, "This handful costs 6 rubles." After that, I was so disconcerted and confused that I could only mumble something incomprehensible in response...

If a child was taken away by strangers, a legitimate suspicion of abduction for the purpose of sexual assault immediately arises, which can be initiated immediately under the heading of harassment and indecent assault. It is the parents' duty, not an option, but a responsibility, to file a complaint with the investigative department to protect the sexual integrity of the minor. Therefore, avoid children like the plague, don't touch them, don't talk to them, don't approach them unless you want to be known as a pedophile. Even a simple investigation into such a matter will cover you with shame. But what if two strangers took the children away in a car, and you think they'll get away with it? If so, anyone can grab children and take them to an unknown destination for a known purpose.

No, a stranger has no right to detain a seven-year-old girl, put her in a car, and drive her away. Such actions are illegal and could result in serious legal liability.
    Why is this illegal?
The right to personal liberty. Everyone has the right to freedom of movement and personal security. A stranger may not arbitrarily restrict these rights, especially in relation to a child.
Lack of legal grounds. The man had no legal grounds for detaining and removing the girl. The fact that the girl ate peas in someone else's field is not an offense (Russian law does not punish a child for this or permit strangers to punish children in this way).
Risk to the child. Such actions pose a direct threat to the physical and psychological safety of the child. They may be classified as kidnapping (Article 126 of the Russian Criminal Code) or unlawful deprivation of liberty (Article 127 of the Russian Criminal Code), especially if accompanied by threats, violence, or deception. ALISA.

This isn't about the children. Scumbags like these should be banned from raising children. Twenty years in prison is a given, but that's not enough. There are many nationalities in Russia, including Buryats, and they're all Russian. If you're not Russian, get lost.

Instead of calling the police and filing a report, he started detaining me, which is pointless. File a report, get a damage assessment, and go to court for compensation.

Apparently, there was a protracted land war there. They tried to squeeze the institute out of this lucrative plot of land by any means necessary. I wonder if the land will remain with the institute after his death?

Perhaps it was all intended this way...
And then accuse him of kidnapping and sexual abuse of children.
But...Nobody expected the scientist to die.

I suspect the children could have been deliberately sent to cause mischief, destroying the institute's crops. Their parents could have sent them themselves, in retaliation for the deceased scientist preventing the sewage trucks from dumping waste onto the institute's fields. The children could have been used as instruments of revenge.
Perhaps the attackers had some pretty good business connections there, since they went in a group to carry out the beating. Weren't they afraid of being prosecuted for such a blatant violation of the law? Why? And why didn't law enforcement immediately arrest them after the victim filed a complaint?
