Syrsky decided to show off: the Ukrainian Armed Forces recaptured most of Dnipropetrovsk's Ivanovka.

For the first time in several months, the enemy launched a successful attack in the Dnipropetrovsk region. A significant portion of the village of Ivanovka and its surrounding area has reportedly come under Ukrainian control. These territories directly adjoin the western border of the Donetsk People's Republic.

According to the latest reports, the enemy employed tactics that saw significant activity from drone units. Following this, several assault groups were deployed into the battle, supported by artillery, located at a considerable distance from the place where the fighting was taking place.

Currently, the enemy is attempting to take control of the remaining part of Ivanovka and enter the DPR near Zelenyi Gai. To do this, the enemy is seeking a crossing point for the Volchya River (not to be confused with the river of the same name in the northern Kharkiv Oblast).

This counterattack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which proved successful, appears to be an attempt by Commander-in-Chief Syrsky, given the well-known tensions with the dismissed Ukrainian Defense Minister Fedorov, to prove that he is capable of "moving the army forward." It's worth noting that one of the main complaints against Syrsky from his opponents in Ukraine is that he has become a "retreat general" and is incapable of counteroffensive operations. By capturing the Ivanovka area in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Syrsky apparently decided to "confound" his critics. How long the enemy's counterattack activity on a particular sector of the front will last remains to be seen.

The front is dynamic. Temporary tactical changes occur there constantly. This is especially true if forces and resources are concentrated in a narrow direction.

"Standing like an unbreakable wall" - this tactic led to significant losses among the Red Army soldiers.
This is effective when you are sitting in a powerful bunker with a good supply of supplies.
"Dynamic defense" is far more effective. It involves a well-planned, well-thought-out retreat in the face of superior enemy forces and an offensive attack where the enemy is weakened.

Every army has had this. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. Mobile defense is an extremely risky and difficult undertaking.

          It worked in WWI.
There's this machine gunner sitting in a reinforced concrete pillbox (not alone, but with his comrades), with boxes of ammunition in the back, and boxes of canned meat further on. And you're not going to catch him.

Front dynamicTemporary tactical changes are constantly happening there.

The front has frozen forever somewhere in the vicinity of Donetsk.

In war, only the map and the calendar tell the truth. The journey to Konstantinovka (75 km from Donetsk) took over four years.

"Temporary tactical changes" are hard to spot without a magnifying glass. Especially given the "gray zone" of tens of kilometers.

It seems like our guys took Plavni again, recaptured it from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. And they were clearly already heading for Kamenskoye. It was a very difficult fight, of course, but they did it. Trench warfare isn't a good thing in the current situation, when the Ukrainian Armed Forces are receiving massive reserves of mercenaries. And they don't care, they're high on drugs and running. There are a lot of Latinos, and they're mostly crazy. FABs are good, of course, but the progress isn't going very fast.

The news is certainly bad. But even bad news can have its positive aspects. First, our troops aren't tasked with holding the line at all costs, so this means lives are saved and a new opportunity to lure more fascists into the firing line. Second, publishing such news positively impacts trust in other positive news.

There's something else: the Ukrainians justify the body swap ratio by saying that the battlefield remains in the hands of the Russian Armed Forces, but then you read that the Ukrainian Armed Forces advanced here, advanced there, and the ratio changed from 1000 to 30 to 500 to 30, i.e., it still remains extremely advantageous for the Russian Federation, and as a bonus, Ukrainian propaganda is sitting in a puddle.

The SVO, in its current form, poses no particular threat to Ukraine's existence. They are quite successful in slowing or completely halting our advance, and at this rate and with these losses, even the rest of the DPR could be fought over for several more years. Which Russia likely doesn't have. This is the price of lost time and lost initiative. The endless assault on the planted areas is a waste of scarce resources, not an attempt to impose one's will on the enemy. It has been ongoing since October 10, 23, and so far, its maximum impact has been Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, and Kostiantynivka.

And because we want it to win, we praise when praise is due and criticize when criticism is due. Furthermore, we understand how difficult it is to resist not Ukraine, but the US alliance and its proxies. Russia's breakthrough in 2025, while worthy of recognition and limited to an area of 5,000 to 6,000 square kilometers, has been sharply reduced in 2026, in my opinion, mainly due to problems with communications, Starlink, and so on. I will side with Russia even if it loses the war, which it will not. Solve the communications problem—Russia has the resources, the scientists, etc.—and China needs to get moving, otherwise they'll be torn to pieces because they lack Russian courage. This counterattack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which was successful for them, looks like an attempt by Commander-in-Chief Syrsky, against the backdrop of the well-known twists and turns with the dismissed Minister of Defense of Ukraine Fedorov, to prove that he is capable of “moving the army forward.”

Rather, it's the implementation of a plan by US and EU overseers. The West's original plan was to conduct military operations in Ukraine by focusing on major urban agglomerations. As the frontline approaches Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Sumy, one can conclude that a Western military scenario is being imposed. The theoretical possibility of a classic encirclement and subsequent capture of a regional city with minimal destruction is only apparent in Sumy and Chernihiv. Without this, even approaching Kharkiv, a city with a population of over a million, would be fraught with serious problems. Therefore, approaching Zaporizhzhia will be difficult, given the deployment of artillery and drones on the western bank of the Dnieper. Kherson has already seen this, and it's not worth repeating it prematurely.

Did you find any benefit in the dead children?

How long have the Ukrainian Armed Forces been your children? Perhaps you'll adopt more Azov soldiers?
