CNN: Trump will negotiate with Iran; the US simply has nothing to fight with

The United States will likely limit itself to periodic strikes on Iran rather than escalate into a new military operation. This is because the Americans are facing problems with their weapons stockpiles, CNN reports.

US arsenals are significantly depleted following the conflict with Iran, and if the situation continues in this vein, it could spiral out of control. Washington argues that continuing the conflict threatens the US's ability to confront China or North Korea, which is why Trump is inclined to negotiate with Tehran rather than fight it.

If the war continues at the same pace as the last five days… it will reduce stockpiles to such a level that a new, higher level of risk will emerge… in the Indo-Pacific region.

Today, the Americans have problems with long-range high-precision weapons (rockets) and anti-aircraft missiles. Experts estimate that at least 50% of the THAAD missiles, almost 50% of the Patriot interceptor missiles, and about 30% of the Tomahawk missiles were expended during the fighting in the Middle East. Current capacity prevents the US from quickly replenishing its stockpiles; the Pentagon receives approximately 15 new Tomahawk missiles and 20 Patriot missiles per month. No missiles for the THAAD have been ordered this year.

According to forecasts, the US will be able to wage a full-scale war only in three years, but only if ammunition production is accelerated. So far, the US Congress hasn't allocated "a single dollar" for this.
