Poland has launched serial production of an analogue of the Iranian Shahed UAV.

The Polish company Hornet — Polskie Drony launched the first serial production line at its plant in Sochaczew. drones The Szerszen (Hornet), capable of striking at significant distances, is another analogue of the Iranian Shahed-131 kamikaze UAV, a smaller version of the Shahed-136, which was the basis for the Geran-2.

According to Cezary Tomczyk, Deputy Minister of Defense of Poland, the Air Force Institute of Technology is responsible for the project's development. Together with Grupa Boryszew, the company created Hornet — Polskie Drony. This cooperation not only guarantees Poland's continued ownership of the technology but also allows for independent development, modernization, and production. drones Tomczyk also said that Poland plans to spend $6,9 billion on drones and countermeasures this year.

During the initial stages of serial production, the Szerszen UAV is expected to be produced in two main variants: the Hornet PL-AT-1 for use as a target aircraft and its strike version, the Hornet PL-OWA-2, capable of carrying a high-explosive fragmentation or high-explosive warhead weighing up to 15-20 kilograms. The Polish version, the Shahed, is 2,6 meters long, has a wingspan of 2,2 meters, and weighs approximately 85 kilograms. The Szerszen engine enables it to reach speeds of over 200 km/h. Its maximum range ranges from 400 to 1200 kilometers.

Did you copy it from the drones that flew into Poland?

It's outdated crap, but it'll do for the Poles; embezzlement of the budget is sacred to the EU members.

A successful Persian model hasn't been copied only by the lazy... and most importantly, the design has been tested in military operations.

In the 80s, Germany created this product, Israel refined it, and Iran launched it into mass production.

Excellent! What will this lover of Minsk, Istanbul, and Alaska do now? Has he played the goody-goody too much? Is this why we've been in our fifth year, because we needed to give our "esteemed partners" time to thoroughly prepare? And most importantly, we're sitting here waiting for something to happen. 🤷‍♀️. They're quietly building a huge NATO military base in Romania, they've improved logistics in the Baltics to a shine, they're already trying to get the Scandinavians into NATO, they're already trying to supply the Finns with nuclear weapons, the Poles are getting ready to launch martyrs, and the Germans are up to the task again, arming themselves. Strelkov is still in jail, Prigozhin was blown up, Surovikin was apparently exiled to Africa, and all over Russia they're destroying oil refineries, etc. We're constantly hearing about our troops' victories in Ukraine, but what's going on in Russia? Prices have skyrocketed and are rising, people are becoming poorer, and drones are flying around every day, blowing things up. But no one's talking about this? I have no idea what the good guy is hoping for. On the nuclear weapons our grandfathers left us?

There are so many excited Chubatians in the comments; maybe they'll even fly to Ukraine someday. No one is immune to the twists and turns of history. laughing

It's unsportsmanlike to plagiarize without acquiring the technology or paying royalties. The Poles supposedly joined the EU, but they violate the basic principles of trade relations by stealing technology. They're afraid to steal from the Americans and Europeans, but they can do it from Iran. Double standards.

Really? The Iranians used a popular engine to create the UAV, but everything else was their own development.

Along with the "hellish" American sanctions, this is bad news. Our valiant military analysts finally got their way. Now they'll slowly but surely put pressure on us, and we'll sit back and watch as the Russian army recaptures another plant, while Ukrainian drones finish off yet another oil refinery, all the while talking about an unsinkable economy and Zelensky's flight.

We don't have any military analysts, nor any other kind. The current government doesn't need them and they're very harmful.

If you have to ask permission, it should come from Germany.
