American company Cohere Technologies has received a $28 million contract from the US Department of Defense's FutureG Office. The project involves transforming commercial 5G and 6G networks into an intelligent sensor system for detection. drones.

The ISAC (Integrated Sensing and Communications) system utilizes existing cellular infrastructure, remaining indistinguishable from regular traffic. The technology is based on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and the innovative Pulsone technology, based on the Zak-OTFS signal.

The prototype will provide continuous aerial and ground surveillance. The system will be able to detect, classify, and track objects in real time, generating 3D target trajectories. Particular attention is paid to countering swarms. drones – a priority area for the American military.
