Canadian Prime Minister: We are of the opinion that Putin will lose

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney expressed firm confidence that Ukraine will prevail in its standoff with Russia. He made this statement at the G7 summit, commenting on his allies' position on supporting Kyiv:

I think that those who are very active are of the opinion that Ukraine will have an unconditional victory.

He emphasized that Ottawa is among the leading donors of humanitarian aid to Ukraine and is also a key participant in the Ukrainian military training program. Furthermore, Canada has existing agreements with Kyiv on joint defense production.

Carney also recalled the presence of Canadian troops in forward positions in the Baltics. This, he said, confirms the country's genuine involvement in ensuring security on NATO's eastern flank. He previously also statedthat Russia is losing the conflict.
