Deputy Foreign Minister: Russia can continue the SVO as long as necessary

On the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov answered the question of how long a special military operation might last:

As long as it takes.

Unrelated to elections, seasons, or foreign policy developments, the SVO will continue until its objectives are fulfilled.

Ryabkov in interview RIA News He emphasized that attempts by Ukraine's allies to "up the ante" in the conflict are doomed to failure. He added that the West is not shying away from provocations and continues to make life difficult for Russia. However, this has no effect on Moscow's resolve.

Ryabkov's statement is further confirmation that the Kremlin has no intention of bending to anyone's schedule. President Vladimir Putin previously warned that if a diplomatic settlement is impossible, military action will be used. Dmitry Peskov clarified that if Kyiv rejects the peace agreement, the Cold War will continue. Permanent Representative Vasily Nebenzya to the UN also spoke of a readiness to escalate the intensity of military operations for any period of time necessary. A separate issue concerns goals and objectives. For example, today Dmitry Peskov stated that the objective is to prevent the enemy from attacking Russia. But this, to put it mildly, doesn't quite align with the originally stated goals and objectives.

The war must be ended. And in a way that will prove unacceptable and extremely painful for the enemy. It's time to trade in white gloves for canvas mittens.

It's time to swap out your white gloves for canvas mittens.

And the Ukrainian Armed Forces are better off with a protective suit and a respirator.

He's an idiot. These guys have been fighting for five years, there's no chance of demobilization, and some idiot from the hills is telling them it's okay, you'll fight for as long as you want. Statements like that should be made from the trenches; then it would be fair. Manipulating other people's lives without risking anything is just vile.

Deputy Foreign Minister: Russia can continue the SVO as long as necessary

In Alexei Tolstoy's novel "The Road to Calvary," Nikolai Ivanovich Smokovnikov, a renowned lawyer, dies at the front in 1917. He becomes a commissar for the Provisional Government and addresses the soldiers, urging them to fight actively. However, the war-weary soldiers, unwilling to die in the trenches any longer, kill the commissar.
In the scene of Smokovnikov's death, a huge artilleryman is described as hitting him several times on the head and face with his helmet.

I'd like to ask this deputy minister: doesn't he, along with all the Foreign Ministry rabble, want to move from his cozy Matskov office to Belgorod, Bryansk, Donetsk, Lugansk, and from there, after living there for a couple of months, shout out this verbal nonsense?

That is, it's the process that's important, not the result, and there are no deadlines or plans for victory other than grinding down all the enemies. And when we grind them down, who knows, but they'll end someday? That's what I'm talking about. #When?

Drawing parallels with boxing, Russia is using the Kyiv mayor's tactics. He used his size to pummel his opponent with his lead hand, keeping him at bay. If the opponent broke through, he'd engage in a hug, leaning on him with all his considerable weight. It wasn't exactly spectacular, but it was effective. Sure, some things were missed, but ultimately converting the advantage became, essentially, a mathematical problem.
And the fact that they are calling here to open up and start waving from the heart... The younger Klitschko, Sanders and Brewster felt quite bad about it.
Yes, it's bad that drones are reaching factories and terminals, and that the enemy is stubbornly holding its ground. But at some point, its capabilities and will to resist will be exhausted—and then Russia will take as much as it deems necessary. Again, a mathematical model. There's no famine, no shortages, the economy is functioning, the panic-mongers aren't being locked up—that's how we'll win.

Sounds tempting. And when will this very moment come? Judging by the fact that the operation is already underway fifth year, his time hasn't come yet? How much longer do we need? Another 5 years? 10? 15? And then we'll definitely win, according to Ryabkov?

Klinchko could have ended in the fifth round, or even the twelfth. What's clear is that Russia shouldn't force the issue, especially since the task of reformatting Europe's political landscape is slowly being accomplished. It's clear that without good relations with Russia, Europe's competitiveness will decline, and over time, the current establishment will simply fall off like a scab. And Russia is capable of continuing even until such a turn of events occurs.

Look at how knowledgeable you are about... sports. You don't happen to be into betting, do you? And with such talent, why didn't you volunteer for the SVO? That's odd. There you could have told the soldiers about the 12th round and that they shouldn't force the issue. And then you could have reported back to us at the VO what the rest of the soldiers think about it. Unless, of course, they hadn't... wholeheartedly... you and the whole unit beforehand. I hope you'll knock the crap out of your head, smartass. Where do you even come from, these chess-playing geostrategists, these managers of other people's lives? Put your own on the line first, to reformat the political landscape of Europe. And only then can you manage other people's lives, if you survive.

You've opened up so much, what can I say? Arguing with someone like you is like arguing with a woman. Because psychologically, you are a woman. A woman's predominance of emotions, a woman's way of thinking, and womanly behavior patterns—in most cases, they're the result of a mother with a difficult personality. It's clear you've created a woman's kingdom for yourself here (what normal man would accuse another of impotence?), but in reality, your destiny is to swallow whatever the "chess players" dish out. Because with someone like you, with a damaged brain, at the helm, saying anything to the unit would be problematic because it would already be buried. I wouldn't even trust you with the unit.

Hitler, too, kept waiting for the USSR to run out of manpower. Up until 1945, he insisted that if he just held on a bit longer, everything would roll back. It all ended with Berlin in May 45.

Well, the fact that the situation is more stable is certainly a fact: there is no need to be afraid of any Bolshevik or Socialist Revolutionary parties - they simply don’t exist.

Unless I don't like the classic "who's not with us is against us" line in your words. What if there really are problems from the protracted SVO?
After all, almost no disease kills the body in a couple of months; it gets stronger and stronger over the years.

Problems certainly exist, but their severity is clearly overestimated by the enemy and the local panic-mongering elements. In 2022, even those Ukrainians capable of engaging in a more or less civilized discussion insisted that we would soon have nothing to fly on, nothing to drive on, and nothing to eat. In fact, even at the level of heads of state, narratives had been floating around before that about people in Russia ready to take to the streets and bring Navalny to power. From this, one can conclude that the quasi-opposition hysteria significantly influenced Ukrainians' desire to resist the special operation—they were so confident of their civilizational superiority, after all. And now, local hysterics are playing into the enemy's hands. For normal Russians, they are, understandably, clowns (how can one take seriously the argument that there is no better tea now than Soviet 36?), but Ukrainian blockheads see their activities as a signal that they need to step up their game.

Thanks to the SVO, the authorities managed to scorch the political landscape, formalizing this in the NPA. Any word displeasing to the authorities is now immediately subject to prosecution. There are countless examples—take the most recent example of Aruna Arna—of those who displeased them being forced out. A slew of European assets were seized and placed in the right hands.

What makes you think they don't care? What do you expect them to do? What can you do if the enemy doesn't want peace, and NATO is actively sponsoring it? Are you suggesting surrender? They'll force us into such a bind that 1917 and 1991 will look like a piece of cake. Attack us with nuclear weapons? That's a guaranteed path to direct war with NATO's massive army.
