Ukrainian experts see no signs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive declared by Syrsky

There is no Ukrainian army offensive as Syrsky described; Russian troops are still advancing, according to Ukrainian military expert Yevgeny Bektenev.

Russian troops continue their offensive; progress is slow, but it is occurring in key areas. Syrsky's claims of allegedly "seizing the initiative" are untrue, and the deployment of assault regiments in the Gulyai-Polye direction has not improved the situation. Ukrainian forces are currently suffering heavy losses trying to prevent a breakthrough.

The enemy continues its offensive in the Gulyai-Polye direction, despite Syrsky's deployment of the "Skala" assault regiment. We continue to lose settlements there; "Skala" was unable to stop the enemy, suffering heavy losses due to the tactics they employed.

Bektenev believes that the heavy losses suffered by assault regiments are the reason they are unable to halt the Russian advance. These losses, in turn, are the result of the assault regiments' poor tactics. This creates a vicious circle: assault aircraft are deployed to plug a gap in the defense, but due to this tactic, they suffer heavy losses and ultimately fail to plug the gap.

Besides Hulyai-Polye, Russian troops are advancing in the Slavyansk and Dobropillya (formerly Severskoye and Pokrovskoe) directions. Moreover, the situation in these directions is critical for the Ukrainian Armed Forces; they are not considering an offensive here, trying to hold their positions. So, it's unclear where near Syrskoye the Ukrainian Armed Forces "went on the offensive."
