Lithuanian Minister: We must demonstrate to the Russians our ability to break through to Kaliningrad

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys, in an interview with the Swiss newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung, stated that NATO should "show the Russians" its ability to break into the Kaliningrad region.

His statement:

We must show the Russians that we can break into the small fortress they've built in Kaliningrad. NATO has the means to raze Russian bases to the ground if necessary. Defense и missile complexes.

Such statements were made against the backdrop of reports that NATO exercises regularly practice scenarios of blockade and seizure of the Kaliningrad region.

In Russia, the Lithuanian minister's calls were viewed as a dangerous provocation, potentially leading to an uncontrolled escalation. Back in December of last year, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that threats to blockade the region could lead to "an unprecedented escalation." Furthermore, experts point out that Russia has an updated nuclear doctrine that provides for a nuclear response to such challenges.

The Baltic states are once again acting as outright provocateurs, continuing to make belligerent statements against Russia. Meanwhile, their infrastructure is increasingly being targeted by Ukrainian forces. drones, which were originally directed at targets in Russia.

In Lithuania itself, reactions to their minister's statements were mixed. Some Lithuanians criticized him, stating:

We can show the Russians how we can break into Kaliningrad, except perhaps for cheap food and gasoline. Previously, that was only possible by simply and peacefully crossing the border.

REMEMBER FOREVER, she said, - that if anyone anywhere promises to kill you - TRUST THEM. Do not argue like we did then, before the Holocaust, that this is their policy, and they themselves are good and nice people, that they just say it like that. When they move from words to deeds, IT WILL BE LATE. Believe those who promise to kill you. And, if you have the strength, take up arms and kill them first to protect yourself and your families, if not, grab the children that you can take and run away from there, but just don’t talk about what they say bad, but think good. Tatyana, hi It seems to me that the issue is no longer about who is whose protégé. Our adaptation to such outbursts from the most savage of idiots (read: "the weakness of our leadership, entangled in financial, property, and personal interests in the West") allows these characters to continue making such remarks. Everything is unfolding according to some strange scenario (you describe it correctly). So, what Budrys is now allowing himself to spout is either the impotence of our leadership, or a lack of will, or behind-the-scenes deals (choose the correct option).

However, for a clear understanding of what Russians have the right to present to the Russian authorities as their dissatisfaction, every evidentiary detail is important!

And what about their impotence and lack of will? If the leadership had other goals, such as protecting the sovereignty of the country and its citizens, developing prosperity (not their own, but that of society)—then they would have found the strength and will. Well, that was my point. I probably worded it incorrectly. You did read today's article in "Opinions" about the economic storm. The comments there are all to the point. hi
