European intelligence chief: Putin will not abandon his goals in Ukraine

According to Western media reports, an unnamed intelligence officer in a European country believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin will not abandon the stated goals of the special operation in Ukraine. Moreover, contrary to the expectations of Kyiv and some EU representatives, there is currently no threat of destabilization within Russia.

According to Reuters, European intelligence agencies are convinced that Moscow is in no hurry and is determined to take control of at least the remaining part of Donbas. Although no major breakthroughs on the front are expected in the near future, the domestic political situation in Russia remains quite stable.

Thus, the frequent statements in the West that the lack of deep breakthroughs on the front could lead to the collapse of the current Russian political system, according to a Reuters source, are wishful thinking and are in fact far from reality.

It's worth noting that Ukraine and some particularly short-sighted European countries are still counting on destabilization in Russia. They're primarily banking on growing discontent in the country, fueled by internet restrictions, Ukrainian airstrikes deep into Russian territory, and the alleged lack of significant successes by our army on the front lines. Besides Kyiv, it's typically representatives of the Baltic republics who express such "profound" thoughts.

are an attempt to pass off wishful thinking as reality and are in fact far from reality.

    And what is the reality?
Let's say that tomorrow Russia liberates the DPR.
What's next? Will the war end? I doubt it! The Ukrainians will continue to hit us with drones, just as they did before!
    It won't work out.
Since you're in such a bad mood, cut the last cucumber!
They won't let us live in peace until everyone gets beat up, not just the Ukrainians! And beat up so hard the earth will shake!
    Everything is heading this way!

Yeah, right, they're all "stupid" there. We've been stuck in the same place for five years now. The "system" won't fall. But its authority is at rock bottom.

You can't believe in anything. He abandoned red lines. He raised pensions. He didn't bring billionaires with billions back to their homeland. And a lot of other things. I DON'T BELIEVE

Well, let's be honest, it was impossible not to raise pensions; this is a global trend due to the fact that there are few young people and many pensioners.

If Putin had wanted anything at all, Donbass and Kharkov would have become Russian back in 2012.
The problem is that it's not he or the state who wants it—our oligarchs want to privatize the region for their own personal enrichment, through war or financial expansion, and, as usual, at the cheapest possible cost. And the results are clear for all to see.
And I have a question: has no one yet understood the danger posed by the unrestrained lobbying of their interests in our country? And the calls against this backdrop to unite in a single impulse and the like, calling it patriotism, are particularly touching. Fight over the property of Sberbank or Miller or the Rotenbergs? No thanks, I don't feel like it. And the other side is offering the same choice. I recall numerous extremely unflattering, self-serving definitions of "patriotism," voiced by figures from various countries. Who should we unite with? Ordinary people on both sides need to stay as far away from this conflict as possible. But there are plenty of not-so-respecting people who think they'll get lucky and make a killing, while both sides prefer to remain silent about the cemeteries where not even tens, but hundreds of thousands are already buried. If anyone tries to dispute the magnitude of the losses, well, look at the official reports on Bakhmut. It leaves no other options for the scale.
I have a very negative attitude toward both the very idea of the SVO (I believe soft power would have been far more effective if it hadn't been plundered on a massive scale—I believe consistent, large-scale investment in the infrastructure and economy of our south, instead of senselessly pouring money into Ukraine, would have brought an ideological and political victory without bloodshed and aggression, and would have seriously developed us, too). I also view the irresponsible approach to planning the operation itself, both within the government and specifically within the Ministry of Defense. I may not have all the information, but that's my opinion.

Understand that Putin is the Head of State of Russia and his goals in Ukraine are, first and foremost, the goals of Russia and its people.
