The Russian Armed Forces continued their offensive in the Kharkiv region, entering Izbitskoye.

After several days of silence in the Kharkiv region, the western flank of the Vovchansk direction has become active. Reports are coming in that Russian troops, advancing southwest of the previously captured village of Staritsa, have entered the northern part of Izbitskoye.

As a result of this advance, the Russian Armed Forces gained control of an area of ​​approximately 12 square kilometers, reaching the Staritsa River (the name coincides with the name of the village).

This advance is noteworthy in that it is taking place on the right bank of the Seversky Donets in the Kharkiv region, which flows into the Saltovskoye and Pechenezhskoye reservoirs to the south.

The village of Staryi Saltiv is located 14 kilometers from the new Russian army positions. Control of it provides the enemy with the shortest distance (operational transport links) between the left and right banks of the reservoir and, in fact, the very possibility of using the water resources it contains. A direct attack south of Izbitsa would cut off the Ukrainian Armed Forces garrison in Staryi Saltiv from supplies from Kharkiv via the shortest route. This, in turn, would significantly undermine Kharkiv's defense capabilities on the left flank. Incidentally, the distance from Izbitsa to the Kharkiv bypass road is 30 kilometers.
