ADNOC Gas has reported a significant issue at its Habshan Gas Processing Complex in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The plant was seriously damaged by Iranian attacks in March and April and will not return to full capacity until 2027.
The Habshan complex, consisting of five plants and 14 processing lines, processed 173 million cubic meters of gas per day before the strikes. It is the UAE's primary source of domestic gas, providing fuel for power plants and industry. A significant portion of its production was also exported.
Currently, the complex lacks approximately 40 percent of its capacity, making export deliveries impossible.
ADNOC Gas plans to reach 80% capacity by the end of 2026, with full restoration of all damaged facilities expected only next year. This is due to the significant damage caused by falling debris. missiles и drones, which twice caused fires at the facility. The statement about "debris" is official.
The attacks on Habshan were part of a wider conflict that damaged the energy infrastructure of several Gulf countries. Despite prompt partial restoration, the incident highlighted the vulnerability of critical infrastructure in the region. ADNOC Gas assured that, thanks to backup capacity and gas imports from Qatar via the Dolphin pipeline, the UAE's domestic energy supply remains stable. The company continues repair and modernization work, including on the Habshan 7 project. This process is expected to require significant investment and time due to the complexity of the damage. The total cost of restoration work could exceed $400 million.
