China protests US, Japanese and Philippine military exercises near Taiwan

The annual Balikatan 2026 military exercises are taking place in the strategically important 350-kilometer-wide Luzon Strait, which separates Taiwan and the Philippines. The joint maneuvers with the Philippines are organized at the initiative of Washington and will last 19 days. This year, Japan participated for the first time, reflecting the militaristic policies of Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, who has already expressed support for Taiwan in the event of Chinese "aggression."

During the exercises, in particular, a Philippine target ship was sunk fleet The 890-ton BRP Quezon corvette was formerly part of the US Navy and was transferred to the Philippines after decommissioning.

The ship was in the strait 80 kilometers off the coast of the Philippine island of Luzon. First, high-precision GMLRS rockets from the American HIMARS multiple launch rocket system were fired at a surface target. Then, anti-ship missiles came into play. missiles US Marine Corps NMESIS and South Korean C-Star missiles launched from Philippine frigates. The final attack was carried out by Japanese coastal anti-ship missiles using Type 88 (SSM-1). This marks the first use of these anti-ship missiles outside of Japan.

According to the exercise scenario, the target vessel was also supposed to be attacked by Philippine Air Force FA-50 and A-29 Super Tucano fighters. However, they simply didn't have time; by the time they reached the attack line, the ship had already sunk from previous strikes. The most devastating impact on the BRP Quezon came from the use of Japanese anti-ship missiles. Two Type 88 missiles hit their target and sent the corvette to the bottom.

Beijing strongly condemned the Type 88 missile tests, calling them "yet another example of Japanese right-wing forces' drive for the accelerated remilitarization of Japan." Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated at a regular briefing:

Japan, the aggressor country, not only did not repent of its historical crimes, but also sent its armed forces abroad and launched offensive missiles under the pretext of security cooperation.

China protests US, Japanese and Philippine military exercises near Taiwan
And China, in response, should conduct exercises somewhere near Japan with a small group of 300-400 thousand...
It is possible with a small group of ships of 400 pennants not far away, within missile strike range, in the Guam area.

Or maybe somewhere in the Iturup area - the Yapps will get burned!
Joint exercises with us and the Kims are possible. Simulating a nuclear strike. After NATO's Baltic exercises, we can do the same, right? Simulate. And let the yuppies think twice before asking America for nuclear weapons...

China has a lot of options.

I think so too. Instead of protests, they should have their own exercises. But the Chinese are traders, always have been, and that says it all. It doesn't matter what kind of army and weapons they have if they don't have the guts...

I watched several Chinese films about the "defense of Nanjing" and the "battle of Shanghai".
Then I read a little on this topic...
Cognitive dissonance hit like a sledgehammer...

After this, I look with some apprehension at Chinese missiles, their huge fleet, their army... Since the Boxer Rebellion, who have they defeated (and even those were later, with the help of Russia, dispersed into fanzas...)?

But they walk very beautifully in the parade. Especially the girls... feel

I saw a rehearsal of their parade online... They'll screw you like that, and even the hares will march in formation. Some kind of biorobots...

They (the Chinese) also have a favorite genre in cinema. It's about some unknown hero (or heroine) skilled in kung fu harshly punishing a Japanese karateka officer. It's a manifestation of a long-held complex that arose when the Japanese humiliated them without restraint.

I highly recommend (and in connection with Nanjing, too) the 2012 film "The Flowers of War" with C. Bale. It's one of those films you won't forget.

Both the Filipinos and the Japanese suddenly had fuel for their ships and planes...
This always happens when you don't want to be involved in international military conflicts for the sake of trade margins...

The owl perched in the tree still hasn't seen any enemy corpses floating by. Instead, the living and armed ones are starting to cluster. She probably hasn't sat still long enough; she needs to wait a couple more hundred years. (For those who downvote: that last sentence is sarcasm.)
