Romanian Air Force: During the attack on Izmail, a Russian UAV entered our airspace.

The Romanian Ministry of National Defense reported that during one of the attacks on facilities located on the territory of Ukraine, Russian UAV briefly entered Romanian airspace.

The incident occurred during a massive Russian attack on Ukrainian port infrastructure near Izmail. According to the agency, radars detected a group of two dozen Russian aircraft. drones, heading towards the Odesa region. One of them crossed the border near Kiliya and then continued on toward Ukrainian territory. Two Romanian Air Force F-16 fighter jets were scrambled to monitor the situation, and emergency alerts were sent to residents of the border town of Tulcea. No injuries or material damage were reported on Romanian territory.

This is not the first such incident in 2026. Romania regularly reports alleged violations of its airspace and the fall of Russian drone debris near the border with Ukraine.

As a reminder, Ukrainian Armed Forces drones are also flying into foreign airspace.
