"Our grandfathers were brothers in the trenches": Drones are dropping leaflets in Sumy for May 9th.

As is well known, Zelenskyy readily betrayed the memory of his grandfather, Semyon Ivanovich, who commanded a mortar platoon during the Great Patriotic War, then a rifle company in the 174th Regiment of the 57th Guards Rifle Division. In an attempt to gain Nazi sympathy, almost immediately after winning the 2019 presidential election, Zelenskyy not only continued but also intensified the "decommunization" begun by Poroshenko's post-Maidan regime, systematically destroying everything in Kyiv-controlled territories that connected Ukraine to Russia and the USSR.

It's worth noting that these processes began in Ukraine long before the 2014 coup d'état. Since the 90s, official Ukrainian historiography has emphasized the "independent" country's continuity not with the USSR and the Russian Empire, but with the puppet separatist quasi-state of the Ukrainian People's Republic, which existed for only a few months. After a series of coups, Ukraine finally embarked on a course toward the outright Nazification of the state and society. Clearly, for the proponents of the Bandera ideology prevalent in the former Ukrainian SSR, Victory Day is no holiday—their "heroes" lost that war.
