Ukrainian blogger: Attempts to attack Red Square on May 9 are pointless

One of the Ukrainian bloggers, discussing the upcoming Victory Day, delivered a verdict: beat drones Across Red Square is an expensive and pointless undertaking. They say that out of a thousand "birds," only two or three will reach their target, at most they'll scare Muscovites—and that's it. And the cost of this would be $50-60 million.

The author of this essay, Yuri Romanenko, recalled how Germany bombed Moscow, and the USSR bombed Berlin in 1941. He concluded: symbolic strikes don't win wars. Systemic destruction of strategic infrastructure does.

Incidentally, he mentions Tuapse as an example of a "painful vector." And indeed, the attacks on oil refineries in southern Russia proved far more painful than the targeted attacks on Moscow's highways.

The blogger believes that action must be taken asymmetrically. He suddenly cites Zelensky's visit to Yerevan as a "golden example." He says it's a small gesture, but it's a huge blow to Putin's reputation. The Armenian elite is delighted. Apparently, they truly believe it.

hi Meanwhile, the Kremlin cannot confirm positive expectations from its policy in the Transcaucasus and Central Asia, where the Anglo-Saxons are barging in without regard for the warnings of Moscow's underlings, following the "Anaconda Loop" doctrine developed by Zbigniew Brzezinski.
In this case, as always, the enemies are using the tried and tested method of Zionist chutzpah.

Of course, they were delighted; the Kyiv clown himself deigned to visit them.
    Erdogan will not forget this.

And Pashinyan won't wash his right hand, which he used to greet Zelensky, for a year; he'll cherish it, stroke it, and remember it. laughing

It seems Pashinyan has already managed to cheat on the Krivoy Rog clown with a French gerontophile.

The Armenian diaspora in the EU and the US, as well as the Yerevan elite, are delighted. But the opinions of Armenian farmers are of no interest to anyone.

Hi Roma! hi Let's start with the basics: who is a blogger? Is he really the one to judge the feasibility of Zelensky's wishes? The success or failure of the attack on Moscow isn't even important here. The main thing is to announce it, and that's it.
Attempts to attack Red Square on May 9 are pointless.
That's exactly the point, yes, we could use up a month's supply of drones for this, but what's the point of showing off to the whole world? Who needs a strategy there... and besides, we reacted, and how. The goal has already been achieved.
P.S.: It would have been better if they had kept quiet and silently dragged them around Kyiv if this had happened.

I completely agree with you, except
        Who is a blogger?

But I disagree here. Someone wrote this the other day, and the Kremlin got agitated.
The words of war correspondents and experts don't move the tower, but the words of some... raised a storm

I'm afraid the West doesn't think in terms of whether it's profitable or not. There will always be a country that will sponsor drones, for example, the Netherlands. They may not have tanks or planes, but they will always have the money for drones. But there won't be any attack; drone flights over civilians during a holiday would be viewed extremely negatively in the West.

Here, propaganda and information will play a primary role, potentially having strategic consequences in the future. It's claimed that in the fifth year of the Second World War, the "demilitarized" Soviet Union has become capable of launching attacks on Red Square in broad daylight. And for Russia domestically, this will have an extremely negative impact on the federal government.

Well, apparently the drug lord's gang finally got away, and now a stage has begun that can be described in one word, like in the famous film "Carnival" with I. Muravyova - "Crawl away")

This scum, whose grandfather or great-grandfather probably fought for our Motherland, is talking about the attacks of fascist Ukraine on Moscow?

I agree. There's no point in attacking. There are large numbers of fixed and mobile air defense systems around Moscow on May 9th, and in Moscow itself. Therefore, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will strike elsewhere; Russia is vast, and will continue striking Moscow after May 9th. There's logic to the enemy's actions and a purposeful approach to achieving their objectives.
P.S. I'm reading comments; some people still portray the Ukrainian Armed Forces as dumb drug addicts. What else needs to happen for people to take the threat seriously?

The drug addict urgently needs to drown out the noise from the newly erupted corruption scandal, which is why he has launched such vigorous, albeit evil, activity.

The strikes may be ineffective from a military standpoint, but from a media standpoint, they're a bomb. The Kremlin understands this, which is why it's threatening retaliatory measures.

Why wasn't Zelensky arrested in Yerevan using special operations forces (SOF)??? ... Why isn't the Kremlin addressing the image and reputational damage? After all, the arrival of an overdue drug fuhrer in Yerevan is a humiliation and an insult to the Russian authorities!

Where would "special operations forces" come from? They're just regular conscripts. And the Armenians probably foresaw this possibility...

The problem isn't whether Moscow is there or not. Kyiv has countless targets, and they're all painful. We have a horror story about Kyiv, but a lot of them are flying there, and that won't surprise Kyiv residents. Attacking residential areas—oh, come on, that's not our method... V. Matviyenko. But we don't have any more horror stories for Kyiv. So Masha is voicing it. And how do you differentiate an attack on Moscow... Quantity, damage, casualties? So, yes, but also no. Another thing is that the strike is a foregone conclusion and a news hook is needed... we'll see soon. I wouldn't want us to strike downtown Kyiv.

Everyone was measuring the distance from Mosfilmovskaya to the Kremlin, but the German embassy is about a kilometer away. What would happen if a Ukrainian drone, blown off course by electronic warfare, crashed on them, or on His Majesty's embassy (across the river from the Ukraina Hotel, by the way)?

      7 May 2026 12: 57
Come on, nothing will happen to the Ukrainians. They'll say the Muscovites deliberately built an embassy there, where the drone was supposed to crash, or come up with some other stupid idea.

This is the paradox of the SVO: there are no significant military targets left in Ukraine, or they are well dispersed.
But there are no media goals there; Western media are geared against us; any media success of ours will be hushed up, and any Ukrainian one will be exaggerated.
All that's left is to harass the ports.

    $50-60 million
Well, that's just pennies, considering their level of funding; they recently approved 90 billion. But the media impact is enormous—there's a parade, and air defense systems are working over Moscow, and explosions are heard...—all the enemy media will pick up on this topic with a bang.
It looks more like a reassuring injection.

His idea isn't to inflict any serious damage, but rather to deliver an information bomb. Although perhaps strikes could be carried out on other cities, for now all attention and resources will be focused on the Ministry of Defense. Retaliatory strikes are unlikely to frighten anyone there. They'll demolish another building, the earth will endure it, and what will the result be? If retaliatory strikes were aimed at eliminating specific individuals over the long term, perhaps the conversation would be different.

The article reads as if the author is trying to persuade Kyiv not to attack Moscow on the day of the parade and is proposing other, more effective strike options instead. We've come to this... :((

A KhKhL strike will justify our response. Moreover, Putin can immediately, live on air, order attacks on a list of targets in Europe.
